Tubby's Ball Line Defense doesn't look very different, but it apparently IS different.

It gives us fits every time.

I am not worried about the shooting. I am worried about the sloppy play, fouling, and careless play in general.

Tubby's Ball Line Defense is not inhibiting his rebounding, but it is making it very tough for him to get more than 10 points on offense. KU has grown to depend on 14 to 17 points minimum.

Let's hope Self can get C5 untracked.

I wish C5 could grab more boards than our point guard.

Well, its really kind of how I view the way the five players play. Add them up and you get one whole player.

Each of our players at the 5 has a strong suit, but each one is missing several supporting suits and we have to wait until the next player substitutes to get the other supporting suits.

He really just miss timed his jump for the rebound...it went high and he was coming down...but followed that up with the travel...his passing and dribbling is a bit of an adventure..

Mick is getting the deep freeze after the first 4 1/2 minutes (shorter this time due to fouls I think)...did get a few more late in the first, but don't think he saw the floor at all in the 2nd.

@Bwag You're right, Mick didn't play at all second half. Neither did Diallo. Pretty hard to manage all those bodies when none really stands out. I think I'll adopt @jaybate-1.0 's approach and just applaud the efforts of the Composite.

We won by 10, but TTU missed 10 free throws and shot 47%. That ugly game could have been scary if they'd hit their free throws.

Our 10 point margin came from 5 more FTM (on -3 FTA) and 5 more 3pt's. Total FGA's were even.

Not often can you count on your opponent shooting 47% from the FT line so give them a decent % from FT and we can't count on hitting 87.5% from FT ourselves, and it's a much closer game.

So in an off night shooting, 3 point shots really were our competitive advantage.

We had 22 3PA (same as last game). On the bright side, Self was scheming for some of those 3 pt attempts. Pretty sure I saw the swinging gate again this game. Was good to see that we didn't back away from it when it was going so poorly.

Not a pretty game, but not unexpected given how exhausted these guys were after Monday. Fortunately this dud of a performance came against a weaker Big 12 team. Every team will have 2-3 dud performances per season along with 2-3 games where they have great performances, that's just reality.

Self did a nice job of subbing pretty frequently tonight and keeping fresh legs in as much as possible, but most of those guys still looked tired out there. Hopefully KU is fully recovered by Tuesday night because that game at WVU is going to be another mentally and physically taxing game with WVU' pressure defense.

@Crimsonorblue22 Yes, Baylor winning in Ames is pretty cool. Danny Manning never won there as a player, so I always think any win there is impressive.

Now we all don't want him to dribble (it can be a bit of an adventure) like the travel at top of key, or the ill-advised pass attempt to Landen "hands" Lucas in a clogged lane.

But his pair of 3's were pretty.

If you have seen/read the interviews with Landen, the kids is pretty smart and his Basketball IQ seems to be good also. Now, his body seems to be a tad slow but maybe it will improve; at this time his bulk is quite a welcome addition.

@JayHawkFanToo Good point-I think he speaks fluent Japanese if I recall. When we signed him I thought that was impressive cause 2 of my nephews & nieces were born in Tokyo.
