KU lost by 23 points. It was the fifth worst defeat for Coach Allen.
They appear to be a much better team than Washburn.
Guessing the vandiver kid is Shawn the coaches kid? Saw him play quite a bit, quality guy!

@wrwlumpy I think that's 11th in the conference which would make them a pretty bad team.
Correct.

After a "spirited practice" yesterday, hopefully the guys will have a little fire in their pants to rebound and play with more focus. This is the last tuneup before a super tough stretch, and their play needs to reflect this - they have the personnel and the coaching to win these two games and at the very least be 1 - 1 in this stretch (though we all would love to beat media slobber fest Consonants). Unfortunately, I will be at a dress rehearsal, so I will be relying on you guys to keep me updated on the game Sunday.
@kjayhawks Man, they have a lot of cheerleaders.
@HawkChamp campus?
@Crimsonorblue22 what?
@HawkChamp uniforms say campus
@Crimsonorblue22 hmm, good question
@globaljaybird remember ibp! Thx for serving. My uncle was there too.
Very touching post. Thank you... for serving... for being a class act... for sharing yourself with us!
@globaljaybird Thank you for your service. I was a Medical Corpsman during Vietnam.
Apparently the four guard offense will only work if the 6'8" wings help to rebound with Frank and his under 6' body. In this game, the Bigs will have to return to the basics and block out and set a high seal like Cole for the inside pass. Don't let little fast guys run around a late screen. No more early fouls for Lucas.
@Crimsonorblue22 Iooks as though someone put the wrong photo in. very observant!
@HawkChamp very well said, what do you think about them spending a little time at the free throw line in their off time?
A quick check appears to indicate that the teams is heavy in Jrs and Srs. but most of the starters from last year left and their 7 footer did not play much (6 mpg); several kids from the KC area. If KU does not win by at least 40 then we have problems.
@JayHawkFanToo who are the announcers?
From the ESPN web site β...
"The 2016-17 season begins from Honolulu on Friday, Nov. 11, with the fifth annual State Farm Armed Forces Classic, just under a month before the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. ESPNβs Saturday Primetime Presented by DIRECTV crew of Dan Shulman and Jay Bilas will be on hand for the doubleheader β pitting pre-season ranked No. 13 Arizona against No. 10 Michigan State (7 p.m. ET) and No. 12 Indiana vs. No. 3 Kansas (9 p.m.) on ESPN. Reporters Andy Katz and Molly McGrath will also be on hand from the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii with surrounding events at the U.S. Navy Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam."
Doesn't look like we will see Holly Rowe on the sidelines, On a happier note, looks like we get a break from Musburger who will be calling SEC games the upcoming season.
@JayHawkFanToo thank goodness! Got tired of mushburger
I can't stand mush and Fran. Will we have holly for big 12 games?
@HawkChamp Make Bilas our authorized announcer for our games. If not him, then I could listen to Bobby Knight.
@Crimsonorblue22 I hope so - I like Holly. Bob Wisschusenn (sp?) and Fran aren't a bad combo - too bad we can't get Bilas every game.
@HawkChamp I really dislike Fran!
Hey...I already posted that link above....just kidding...LOL
@JayHawkFanToo didn't see the whole linkπ³
This is Emporia State's weight training consists of lol!
@JayHawkFanToo I did, didn't see it first time.
Time to update the eye glass prescription. I just ordered my first set of hearing aids...ouch on the cost.
I have a very good Emporia State story from about 37 years ago that I'm unable to share with a mixed audience. Suffice to say, I have fond memories of my one visit in life to Emporia State University.

Damn nice picture JNew is using now. Reveals the inner Cary Grant. About goddamn time. Thank you, Mrs. JNew. I know its old fashioned to look after a husband's appearance these days, but even the most dashing men need an assist from time to time.
jaybate 1.0's father's advice: Never let a woman pick your suit, or shirt. Always let her pick your tie. And tie it for the occasion. Fore-in-hand for casual. Windsor for cutting deals.
I feel better about Washburn now that I see WSU got all they could handle from Augusta lol 73-67.
What a coincidence? A couple years back I was in Emporia and there saw a commune there called the Children of KUSteve-Ra!
It's a cult that believes Erik Von Daniken channeled an alien from an exo planet named Ramblin' Man 1.09387 to father a new race on the earth that would one day cut Bruce Weber's hair and weave it into parabolic mirror capable of communicating with the civilization on Ramblin' Man 1.09387.
(Note: all fiction. Completely and totally. No malice. @KUSTEVE is an honorable alias and this was just a joke.)
@jaybate-1.0 a few years back I was also in emporia.
@kjayhawks and I don't think our guys could play much worse than the other night
Good to know, but I did not see an @Crimsonorblue22-Ra Church. :smiley:
The Amazing Batenac 1.0 predicts....
Emporia State: 47
KU: 103

By 50 to Arkansas yiiiiiikes. Though Self will play around again, so it's certainly possible that KU wins by less.
I hopped on google and found the box score: http://www.arkansasrazorbacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/stats-149870-190636.pdf β
I'm anxious to see how Devonte plays tonight after only scoring 6 points against Washburn. With Indiana only 5 days away, I sure would like to see more balance from our expected leaders in this year's campaign. What scoring averages are you expecting this year? Lucas, 10; Mason,14; Graham 14; Jackson, 12; Bragg, 10; Vick, 8; and Svi, 8. I'm hoping for balanced scoring and no goose eggs by our leaders. RCJH
@stoptheflop No problems with Devonte. Zip, zero, nada, imo. He'll score when it counts.
I can see an intense first half where the starters build a huge lead and a second half where there is a lot of experimentation.
Oh oh, apparently rebounds are a big thing with Bill Self.
