Also the missed rebound down 1 when Council missed the free throw. That’s another huge self inflicted blunder

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:04 PM

Do I think we win with Bill there? Yes. Could we and should we have won without him? Hell yes. I hope at some point his teams start shooting free throws better.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:01 PM

@Kcmatt7 and they still should have won that game

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 11:00 PM

@AsadZ don’t forget Self!

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 10:56 PM

@cragarhawk said in Hog Wild Game Thread:

@Texas-Hawk-10 once again we'll have to disagree. That was definitely not the inspired defense we saw in the first 10-15 min of the game in my opinion

Correct it was not at all, yet we’re still good enough to win it

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 10:51 PM

Yeah missed three front ends of 1-and-1. That’s a lot of points on the floor

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 10:47 PM

@kuballin10 yeah not going for the three is baffling

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 10:46 PM

Also, what the hell were they doing goin for two?

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 10:45 PM

Just a complete choke job. Missed free throws were the main culprit

Arkansas…. • Mar 18, 2023 05:58 PM

@kjayhawks I don’t think anyone on any KU site is stating we’ll blow them out

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 02:50 PM

@Jethro that’s what I am hoping as well

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 02:43 PM

@Jethro correct, assuming that was the extent of the issue. I mean, he can’t even stand at practice, which is kind of the opposite of what you hear about people after stents. Hopefully there is nothing else wrong.

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 02:27 PM

It sounds like he’s still very involved with prep and game planning as well as talking to Norm at halftime. No it doesn’t replace being there, but I guess at least he’s a big part of the process still. Silver lining?

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 02:25 PM

Yeah the post season ban is another theory people have thrown out there. That’s very possible as well

Hog Wild Game Thread • Mar 18, 2023 02:17 PM

Welp, no Self again today. No reason to think this, but anyone else wonder if he’s done at KU? I know, I know, probably not, just the way things are being handled has me thinking.

Arkansas…. • Mar 18, 2023 01:57 PM

@Jethro said in Arkansas….:

@kuballin10 said in Arkansas….:

@Jethro this is not good. Arkansas has done their homework. Juan can be sped up and weak with the ball turning it over.

Sounds like they will do what Texas has the last two games and what tcu did which is don’t let Juan initiate and run the offense.

I don’t have a good feeling about this game

Yes, we have our hands full. Jason Tatum can really ball. Jaylen Brown can score from anywhere, and Marcus Smart can really lock down on defense. I know it's going to be tough to beat the Celtics, but we do have a better coach, and Jalen.

🤣🤣🤣 Weeeeell doggie, good one Jethro

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 18, 2023 03:25 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Ill be happy to order some crow FYI 😁

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 18, 2023 03:06 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 true, but probably not

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 18, 2023 03:04 AM

I think you can take TCU out of the oven, looks like they’re about done

Arkansas…. • Mar 18, 2023 02:45 AM

@cragarhawk said in Arkansas….:

Doesn't matter who we play. It only matters how. Intense d and energized play all around we beat anyone in the nation. The secret to winning any game for this team is energy

This guy must’ve stayed at a Holiday Day Inn Express last night. Great post sir

Arkansas…. • Mar 18, 2023 02:29 AM

We split with TCU and Texas, it’s amazing that people forget we dominated them (Texas) most of the game at AFH. Tennessee and the third Texas Game were the third game in three days, both of which ended against really good teams. Different than what is happening tomorrow. Keep in mind Texas is a much better and more experienced team than Arkansas.

Nut up, grow a pair and let’s roll out there and see what happens.

Arkansas…. • Mar 18, 2023 02:27 AM

@FarmerJayhawk said in Arkansas….:

So if we run we’re screwed because they’re more athletic and if we play half court we’re screwed because Juan can’t initiate? Well damn. Guess we ought to just fly home

Yep, better message the AD on Twitter or something, let him know they can save money by just coming home now since Arkansas is onto our game plan 🤣.

I swear, some fans are the biggest wussies. We may win, we may lose, but we have just as good of shot as any. Like Andy Reid said, we’re still going to go out there and play the game.

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 18, 2023 12:27 AM

Yep imagine that, guard play winning games in the tournament. Crazy stuff right??

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 18, 2023 12:21 AM

@BShark yeah but the ratings are kinda sus. The eye test never held up for them in my opinion

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 18, 2023 12:14 AM

Purdue was probably the weakest one seed I’ve ever seen honestly

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 17, 2023 11:59 PM

Told you all I didn’t see anything great about Purdue months ago. Wouldn’t have predicted they’d lose to the 16 seed tho

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 17, 2023 11:22 PM

Yep FDU starting to fade

NCAA NON- KU GAMES • Mar 17, 2023 09:52 PM

Folks over at phog.net are pissing themselves over UConn lol. It’s too early to worry about that. I guess I’m much more concerned with HOW we play rather than WHO we play. They ain’t gonna keep up with us if we make it a full court game, like what Coach Roberts was talking about the other day. Apparently many have yet to learn that shooting, speed and defense wins games in March, not who has the biggest team.

Dilly dilly!

Hopefully he’s ready to go by Saturday. If not, can we get by Illinois or Arkansas without him?

McCullar • Mar 14, 2023 08:02 PM

I’m not portraying him as anything other than a good guy by all accounts who made bad decisions in a game. I know he had no history of it, which makes that whole game so baffling to me and many others. Regardless of whatever was said, as a senior leader on the team in the biggest game of thr season, you’ve got to hold it together and let whatever was done go.

McCullar • Mar 14, 2023 07:57 PM

@drgnslayr I disagree entirely. You get back at them by beating them on the score board, not by trying to do some sneaky shit back at McGary for whatever it is supposedly provoked it. It was just poor decision after poor decision for him in that game and is a large part of how many remember him unfortunately.

McCullar • Mar 14, 2023 07:34 PM

@rockchalkjayhawk said in McCullar:

ooh, not sure about that EJ choice. Any KU player who punches somebody in the nuts during a game is instantly downgraded!

Exactly. I hate singling out any player but the Michigan game really soured my opinion of EJ, in spite of the overall good career he had at KU. The nut punch, missed free throws and turnovers the last minute of game cost us another shot at a championship - that team was really rolling at the end of the year.

Other games • Mar 14, 2023 03:24 PM

@kuballin10 said in Other games:

@BShark If I’m being honest though I’d bench Juan and have him be the first guard off the bench. Play the best players - it’s pretty simple.

There’s no way you’re serious about this.

Complain About KU's Unfair Bracket Thread • Mar 14, 2023 12:59 PM

@Eric-san it’s got to be a team effort like during our win streak a few weeks ago. All starts with Juan then trickles down.

Complain About KU's Unfair Bracket Thread • Mar 13, 2023 01:44 PM

@benshawks08 most last night picked against them and went with UConn. Just like the Chiefs this year, maybe being the underdog is what they need as a little motivation or to help focus.

McCullar • Mar 13, 2023 12:30 AM

@drgnslayr you are correct. A lot of folks are going full on sky-is-falling without looking at this logically. Typical fan overreaction that results in bashing Juan. We won’t have the 3-in-3 problem the rest of the way so hopefully we are good fam.

Alabama's Brandon Miller • Feb 21, 2023 10:10 PM

@Jethro I hope you’re right

Alabama's Brandon Miller • Feb 21, 2023 09:57 PM

@kjayhawks not just that, but he also used HIS OWN CAR to block her in so she couldn’t leave. Absolutely mind boggling how negligent the ā€œauthoritiesā€ and Nate Oats are in this matter.

What was that? "MOJO TRANSFER!" • Feb 21, 2023 01:53 PM

I think he’ll be considered the GOAT after two more final fours and one of those being a title. We all bring up Wooden but the landscape then was not even close to being how it is today and yet Self is still consistent. I’m not sure he’ll coach long enough to get a fourth title but I’d love to be proven wrong!

Unknown topic • Feb 21, 2023 01:37 PM

Uhh, @approxfinity?

@rockchalkjayhawk remember, tv Timeouts in the tournament are longer, bench minutes are mostly useful for foul situations not fatigue.

@benshawks08 you’re absolutely right. This is a final four team if they play like they did last night.

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:57 AM

Yeah he needs to always be looking to attack and score. He is definitely capable but seems fine just assisting others primarily. Can’t do that all the time

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:49 AM

@Kcmatt7 yeah I’m sure he is kicking himself for that timeout

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:47 AM

@kuballin10 yeah, I don’t recall ever seeing a timeout like that with 5 on the shot clock. Weird move for Self for sure

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:47 AM

End of game last plays were shit, got to work on that and Harris needs to get his head out of somewhere on his decision making

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:39 AM

I mean as a player you have to adjust, but at some point it is ridiculous

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:38 AM

@DanR it makes the game in enjoyable and unwatchable

K-St Game Thread • Jan 18, 2023 01:37 AM

But can we get a stop is the question
