Now that Saturday is over and we have to turn the page so quickly I put all my rage on ESPN today.

They knew scheduling Baylor at home in mid-February on a Saturday would have some significance. Two best teams in the conference for a while now. Easy TV ratings.

They knew TCU was going to be good returning their entire team. That's why they got the Big Monday slot.

I believe they call this a "scheduled loss".

Hopefully the momentum this team is riding is enough.

Just listening to the radio today while scrolling sites. - -Pretty nice National media starting to talk about Ku & even repeat as National Champs. - -A month or so back I would of had y doubts on that but man, I'm telling you at times they have shown flash's of just insane crazy good - - gives me goose bumps when I see them play like that. Frustrating at times for sure, we can look so , so bad sometimes and then others - - - LOOK OUT -

Finding out that there just isn't purely dominant team this Season . - -Why not us ? - -I think w got just as much chance as the next guy. The one thing w got and National people talking about , were playing in the Best league - -HANDS DOWN - -not even close , KU has 13 Quad 1 wins - - FRICKEN THIRTEEN , every game we play can be a quad 1 win. - -If and again If we win out in Conference would be SEVENTEEN QUAD ONE WINS - how insane is that ? - This league is a meat grinder night in & night out.

Tonight's game is gonna be another. TCU Miles is back - -Lampkin is back - -it is going to be really rough. - The key tonight is , w have just got to take care of the ball no live turnovers. , Yet however and again being mentioned - I think it is a HUGE mistake if a team wants to get in a track meet with KU -- you wanna run - -let's run -there have been times Juan when we out and running just flat embarrassing guys crazy - -Turnovers is one thing but just rebounding the ball and go - -I'll take my chances with KU.

Here is my guess -I'm gonna say I think we have gotten better since the last time we have played them - -were do pay back -I'm just gonna say when the smoke clears - KU wins by 7 - - I see we are a 1 1/2 point underdog

I think for this game it will help that we got our ass kicked in AFH the first time in that it will make our players take the game more seriously. TCU is 24th this week in the AP Poll but I think they are a lot better than that with a healthy Miles and Lampkin.

If we can get this game tonight, it gives us a very good chance to at least split for a B12 title. After this, we have vs West Virginia, vs Texas Tech, and at Texas. Texas has vs Iowa St, at Baylor, at TCU, and vs Kansas.

The one thing is , if we can play Defense like we did in the 2nd half - - take care of the ball will help a lot. TCU is a terrible shooting team their % is not good. - -Take care of the ball defend tough and should be able to get big important win

Gotta say I’m nervous for the same reason. Just a BRUTAL turn around. Just keep trying to tell myself that TCU is on a quick turnaround too.

This team’s success is all about energy. They have the motivation for it after getting embarrassed at home but it is not an unlimited resource you can tap into whenever you want. Definitely expended a good amount of energy I. That second half on Saturday.

Winning this game would give me extreme confidence that this team will get to the second weekend. (I’m already pretty confident)

Their bench is what killed us in the first game. Believe Miles only had 9, we will start off switching everything I bet.

CS knows we can't go 40 playing defense like that. And as usual he is correct. It won't happen. But.. if you watch closely you'll notice that we don't actually have to. Middle 10 of the first half and first or middle 10 of the second half will be enough. If... They can do it for 20 against a great team. And break it up somewhat like that. We're golden.

I feel good about tonight. Let's make it happen.

I know we're all excited but I'm still slightly skeptical. We got trounced for a half on Saturday. Certainly the 2nd half was breathtaking but it seems like this great team of ours still has some trouble putting together two solid halves of basketball. Some of the ESPN wants a big Monday upset scenario plays in the back of my mind as well, and of course TCU embarrassed us in our house a month ago and I'm still really taking a show me approach to 2022-23 version of the Jayhawks.

We're doing a very solid containment defense so far. Not really a lot of ball pressure. That's one thing we know this team CAN do well. Give us 10 min solid contain and 10 min Heckle/ball pressure and we're good

He says stuff like that every year. He won't rest them during the regular season unless the games are blowouts. The Big 12 tournament is where Self has historically given players more rest because he couldn't care less about winning the Big 12 tournament.

KU got a little lucky tonight as well because TCU was only 13-21 from the FT line tonight.

He absolutely cares about winning the regular season title and in years past has cared about it to the point of being detrimental to player development during the season, including at times this season.

Jalen will get his shot in the NBA. He's helped his stock enough this year that he could sneak into the late 1st round. Most mocks have him in the 25-35 range. I've said even since he signed that I didn't think he's athletic enough to stick in the NBA. He's never been a great defender or shooter (now under 35% from 3 this season) and is a below average athlete for his position. He does get shut down by athletic 4's he'll see plenty of in the NBA.

His positives are that he's not afraid of the moment and has always been willing to take the last shot, he can drive and play through contact, and he's an above average rebounder. Those are attributes that with the right team and system, could get him 15 mpg in the NBA.

Long term, I don't see him sticking past his rookie contract before ending up in the G-League and then overseas where I think he'll have a chance to be a star in a top Euro league like Spain or Greece.

I qualify this game as BAD BALL... really only because we missed out on so much offense. Missed bunnies... our balls stolen and scored on... some poor defensive rebounding.

This definitely wasn't like the second half of the Baylor game, but in the end... we won! We couldn't put them away late, so we just shut them down!

We are fortunate that TCU is not a good half-court offensive team, and poor from trey, but we did play with good energy and it was wise for Self to keep Juan on Miles.

This was a game I circled to tell us if we are ready to win out. We are! Not saying we will... but we could and we should!

A bit surprising we won if you look at the individual play in the boxscore. If we win, and Jalen only has 7, i sure expect to see Dajuan with 12 or so. not tonight. I guess Kevin came through as our secondary scorer behind Gradey.

I only look at boxscores from KU games, so hard to say how sustainable it will be playing only 6 guys in double digit minutes. TCU played 8 guys in double digit minutes. Do other teams only play just 6 guys, too? Jalen sure didn't seem himself. Tired?

Fran actually talked about this during the game. KU is near the bottom nationally in bench minutes played and TCU is near the top nationally in bench minutes played.

@rockchalkjayhawk remember, tv Timeouts in the tournament are longer, bench minutes are mostly useful for foul situations not fatigue.

Last night was pretty mild for Fran or I was really good at tuning him out. I didn't see anyone covering this yet but it's a pretty cool achievement. It gives me a lot of hope that Udeh is going to be a lot like Doke with his efficiency in future years.
