Predictions for Nebraska
Dec 09, 2016 11:38 PM #1

Well, we have had some bad news today that filled the board to say the least. But we do have a game tomorrow vs our old friends from the north 2:15 ESPN U that we currently have a 17 game win streak against. They are super young and bring a 5-4 record to town, will we be distracted from the Bragg incident and lose? I would guess not I don't think they have the ponies to hang even with news of Bragg. Former KU Coach Ted Owen's son is a director of operations for them. They did give Creighton (former KSU guard Marcus Foster ended up there) a decent game for a half on Wednesday at home, I'll say KU 88 NU 64.

@kjayhawks Get the Cornshuckers!!!!!!!!

Dec 09, 2016 11:58 PM #3

Still an easy win imo.

Wouldn't be surprised if this end score was similar to the UMKC game. 95 to 63.

Dec 10, 2016 02:19 AM #5

@kjayhawks 88-64 sounds about right.

Dec 10, 2016 06:24 AM #6

15-20 point win sounds about right.

This could be a funky game due to Bragg's absence. Warning, warning, warning. Because a boyfriend/girlfriend conflict can and does happen to most college men (but, most don't react so badly they get arrested), Braggs' difficulties may weigh heavily on the team. I'm sure the players know the situation and will be preoccupied with the facts. I've heard the girlfriend was trying to end the relationship and it appears Bragg was arrested at her college residence (Emery Road). This is going to be a real challenge for our players.

Could be a distraction BUT I think we have the type of players will take care of business at hand score like - - 87-70 - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Dec 10, 2016 01:54 PM #9

@stoptheflop I seriously doubt the team is wringing their hands over Bragg.

Dec 10, 2016 02:25 PM #10

I'm going out on a limb, but I see 16,300 people in the seats of AFH.

Dec 10, 2016 02:35 PM #11

@KUSTEVE Bragg is their teammate and friend, foe. Of course this has been a difficult time for them and the staff. Huge distraction! Will Bragg be on bench?

Dec 10, 2016 02:40 PM #12

The fan base always gets in a tizzy over things like this. Give our guys more credit than that- we have a mature, tough minded team that is going to mop the floor with Cornshuckers today.

Dec 10, 2016 02:50 PM #13

@KUSTEVE I think we will win, still a rough week and potential detriment to the team

Dec 10, 2016 03:19 PM #14

@KUSTEVE Really the media over reports situations like Bragg's arrest. If you look at our fans' reactions, we have been very calm. How many times today on the TV broadcast will Bragg be mentioned? I predict 50, but who wants to count? Not me; I often have to mute the announcers because their incessant talking is too seldom about the actual game.

Dec 10, 2016 03:41 PM #15

I expect this team will go about its business. Nebraska is not a good enough team to beat KU, not in Allen Fieldhouse.

Dec 10, 2016 03:43 PM #16

They've all watched Bragg struggle. That jump from promising freshman to starter expected to fill Perry Ellis's spot is a really big jump. while Bragg has been struggling, they have been flourishing. While Bragg has looked tentative and hesitant, Frank/DG/JJ/Vick/Svi have looked, for the most part, dynamic. Maybe the kid got lovesick, distracted, emotional ... maybe it was the pressure combined with a huge dose of immaturity.... who knows? This whole time our team leaders have led, and will continue to play a tough minded brand of ball. This isn't 2013....that team would've been shell shocked.

Dec 10, 2016 04:08 PM #17

@KUSTEVE IMO most of these guys will easily refocus a mindset of continuing to move forward without any contribution from Carlton. I believe that's what the coaching staff will tell them

Dec 10, 2016 04:39 PM #18

@globaljaybird I don't expect this to have any effect. All you have to do is look back at the Texas game after the death of TRob's mom. The team played well the first half but not the second. I believe the guys were just worn out having been up all night after the phone call from his sister. This won't even be a bump in the road.

Dec 10, 2016 05:46 PM #19

@BeddieKU23

I'm thinking they come out with fire and vigor. We will see.

Dec 10, 2016 05:53 PM #20

Most of these guys have already spoke with bragg, I'm sure he will still practice. I don't see it being a huge distraction now that it has been a day and he has been released, @Crimsonorblue22 it will be interesting to see if he is allowed to sit on the bench my guess is not.

Dec 10, 2016 06:41 PM #21

@kjayhawks I'd be surprised if he's anywhere near AFH.

Dec 10, 2016 06:44 PM #22

@brooksmd I bet is in the building watching from a lounge or something away from everyone

Good call, @jayballer54 89-72!
