Doke wearing brace on wrist, big brace. Not sure on prognosis. Heard one rumor hand was broken😭
@Crimsonorblue22 oh no..
Sorry didn't see your post @Crimsonorblue22. I posted the picture
@BeddieKU23 that's not a cast though?
Not a hand specialist lol. Maybe they waiting for the swelling to go down before deciding what to do?
Could be pre-caution as well but that's never good
@BeddieKU23 you are getting depressing! Self was asked on hawk talk about what he wanted for his team for Christmas and he said "health". Ugh!
I'm sorry, hate relaying bad news. Doesn't sound promising and we need Doke healthy. Wonder how he did it
@BeddieKU23 rim?
Seems like the most likely culprit
Time for Bragg to show up
Lightfoot and Colby, Good Luck. Landon welcome the increased minutes. I hope every game you play is similar to last season's UWV game.
My go to answer would be Zenger...:smirk:
Just like with Bragg's situation, we need to wait and see what the doctor's say. We can't say with any certainty whether it is broken or not. The good thing is we don't need him necessarily for tomorrow - UNLV is pretty bad and got beat by 49 when they played Puke.
@JayHawkFanToo SZ for what?
Doke's injury...you know he had to be involved; he will probably have the X-Rays on EBay...:smile_cat:
@JayHawkFanToo oh.
By looking at the picture, looks like a soft wrist brace/immobilizer and not a hand brace; the hand does not appear to be swollen. If his hand was broken he would have had surgery and be wearing a hard hand cast instead. Based on my very limited personal experience, looks like a wrist sprain or maybe a hairline fracture they hope will heal without surgery but I could be way off. Any doctors in the house? Isn't @ralster one?
Dang. On one hand, he isn't playing huge minutes but on the other the team is thin in the post as is and this slows his development.
@JayHawkFanToo you stay at a holiday inn last night?
No, but I played doctor in my younger years...:smiley_cat:
@JayHawkFanToo So you know all about swelling. :wink:
Looks like a bowling wrist support
Hearing its ligament damage? Whatever it is, he is out for remainder of the season.
Udoka Azubuike will miss the remainder of the 2016-17 season due to a left wrist injury, Bill Self said Wednesday. #kubball
Crap.

shit.
Is this a haunted front court this season, or what?
Do we know how?
Mitchell Lightfoot, get ready, dude.
Maybe wear some ankle weights to get yourself up to 220. :bowtie:
shit.
This is actually good news.
Self gets bored when things go right.
Even less depth in the post. 9 scholarship players. Ouch.
This could be the beginning of Tyler Self in the front court rotation.
Josh Jackson, time to start working on the hook shot.
God help me, I do love the smell of basketball napalm in the morning.

You are starting to sound really creepy...
We are not on the f&(#@(_($ naughty list Santa! Wtf?
I wanted Lightfoot to have a breakout year but not like this. I feel bad for the big guy.
The frosh big curse continues.
shit.
Well bright side, doke didn't play many minutes last game. Need help here, ahhhh
This is LL's chance to prove he can play like he did at the end of last year. If he can do that........for the most part........we'll be OK. Bragg in there when we go 2 bigs..........Coleby off the bench and Lightfoot when needed. Not ideal,........but the other guys have to step up.
This really hurts. We will really need Bragg and Coleby to steup up now.
There is no bright side to this, unfortunately.
I'm more worried about next year and the loss of experience. Dok needed this year. Watching Bragg lets me know how much work it takes.
As for this year, I'm hoping it galvanizes the post players. Lucas no longer needs to look over his shoulder. Bragg needs to accept the responsibility of starters minutes. Lightfoot needs to make a freakin' free throw so he can play.
@HawkChamp only thing is Coach says Coleby still not right, says he is dragging leg, so you can't really count on him - - gonna big huge problem when Landen gets in foul trouble for sure. - - Mitch just DOES NOT have the muscle to compete inside this year,- - -Bragg reluctant to bang inside - - - Coleby still not recovered this sucks - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
@jayballer54 structurally Coleby is fine according to Coach, so that will have to do. The others will have to have the discipline to play without fouling. Coleby and Lightfoot will have to play in order to give our guards some rest.
Doke is gone for the year.
Sorry, guess that was revealed in the link above.
Take a deep breath.
Everything is going to be alright.
We go through this stuff multiple times each season.
Take my hand.
Then take a step with me.
It's certainly good that Lucas seems to be rounding into form. No more injuries please.
Well Doke. We won't forget about you. Looking forward to wooden watch next year. Already was... Still am! That 280 lb rim run and dunk from the high post in the 4 guard lineup is lethal. Until then, can still work on conditioning and explosiveness. Could be worse, could be leg or back.
As i said to @JayHawkFanToo, this is just another bump in the road.
Let's just hope Doke did not break it over someone's head in the Wheel, where there would be blow back. Apparently that is not the case.
I've been wanting to stop wasting Josh Jackson on the perimeter, since I first saw his outside shot.
JJ could score some serious points working the paint for 38 on short treys and foul up most opposing post men.
I really think this could be a blessing in disguise for this team, if Josh's handlers will permit him to play inside. Self has no control over that, obviously, but we will learn soon enough.
If not, well then Carlton Bragg, basketball newlywed, is about to find out what Conference play is all about.
Rock Chalk!
@jaybate-1.0 not sure about "obviously" but I agree with your point about Josh posting up on the block more - he has already shown to have a good hook shot.
Carlton is a sophomore, so he already understands about conference and the rigors of it, but now he is expected to contribute. Still waiting for him to be involved in a Perry style pick and pop about six or seven times per game. Shooting is a major strength of his and he needs to utilize it more.
I agree that is a bump on the road, a big one at that, but by no means it is good news.
Ironically, Dok had the best hands of all the big men...
