@HawkChamp that transfer kid was shooting lights out the last time I saw him. When I picked the games I wanted to see, I didn't pick Baylor game, who knew? Anyway, my sister was like, "I guess we'll go to the Baylor game", sarcastic tone. Dang it!

Well ANOTHER HUGE game - this one REALLY COUNTS BIG. - - this is conference, really important, like has been said, fans need to be pumped. - last weekend - 2 vs 4 - -wedns - - 2 vs 3 . - - loved it last weekend - -UK went all in - bringing in the announcer - - rolling out the 8 championships they were all in hyping this game - -setting the record for the loudest - -ya - TIME TO ROCK - - -ROCK CHALK ALL ADY LONG BABY

All of Baylor fans think they can win and just about all of them think they will win in Wacko. I know our guys are capable of more than what they have shown lately and I am expecting Self to have them fired up and ready. This would be a huge win for our conference rave and a one seed.

Think Self will just set Jackson at the top of the key and let him have his way the 2-3 zone all game. What KU does to defend Motley will be another story. Time to see if we have learned how to defend a good 4 man yet.

They don't shoot the 3 like we're used to seeing them do so. 36% isn't bad, but it's not scary good either.

@Crimsonorblue22 exactly. They are good offensively but they aren't Carolina or UCLA. It all starts with good individual defense. A good shooting day will also be necessary.

Baylor will get some points inside. If they are also hot from 3.........we could be in jeopardy of losing. Unless everything is clicking for them, or unless we have a down game.....we should win.

@nuleafjhawk Not playing home games that could have easily been a loss or gone into OT. Or getting pushed all the way to the end by a bad UT team, at home.
Also not losing to WVU when they only turn us over 13 times because we played horrible defense and our veteran guards clearly were shook for most of the game.
I know it sounds dumb to say a 19-2 team could play better. But he is right. This team is capable of taking it to another level. We finally saw that the last 25 minutes of the UK game. But it took Bill adjusting and leadership by our vets. Something I have been waiting to see for about a month and a half.
I expect this team to start showing how good it can be. Coach Self is learning this season along with the players. It is either going to fully come together now for the rest of the season or it isn't. We can't make a final four playing like we did the first 8 conference games. But we can if we play like we did for 25-30 minutes against UK. Where we exploit matchups and make in game adjustments to counter our opponents. This team can't play just M2M. We have shown we will get exploited. This team can't just shoot 3s. We need to ISO certain matchups.
Most games this season we haven't done that. The loss to WVU and the loss of Doke and the loss of Bragg brought out the best in Self. He took a step back and reevaluated this team before and during the UK game and we beat a team favored by 8 points at their place. That is something special. I'm hoping that when we look back at this season we all be able to point to this week where it looked like everything was falling apart when really it was just the turning point that brought our team closer together.

@Kcmatt7 Thanks for a thoughtful response. All things considered, i still feel pretty good about us right now, except for the &^%&($$^ free throw shooting. It WILL bite us in the butt if we don't get it fixed. In case nobody on the team has figured it out yet - they are FREE points. FREE.

Kenpom has Baylor as the 5th best defensive team in the nation. FYI West Virginia for all its vaunted press is only ranked #11 and Kentucky is #12. KU at #30.
Offensively KU has been holding steady at #5 in the nation while Baylor is #20. Something will give in this game and hopefully its Baylor defense. KU has to play as smart offensively as they have all year. Baylor has 3 guys with crazy wingspans starting.

@nuleafjhawk basically what Kcmatt said. We did not look good against KSU, OSU, TCU and Texas. Focus and energy levels just from a visual perspective have not looked good all year except for a few times. But none of the that matters right now. Now is the time to come together as a team and become a contender.
I said it before, but you don't get prizes or extra brownie points for looking like a contender in November. The time to play your best is middle/late February and into March.
