The suspense!!!
Mar 14, 2017 03:07 AM #1

Its killing me friends. I always disliked waiting as a player and coach, once I've seen who and where I wanna go! My wife always laughs at how hyped up I get before the games bye watching youtube highlights and how I'm all sweaty like I just played at the conclusion. Tomorrow atleast there will be games. Favorite season, Holiday season or March Madness(madness for me)? Who's ready to get this dance started?

Mar 14, 2017 03:11 AM #2

@kjayhawks Should be fun ride to start, at least until the competition stiffens.

Question: who votes for Danny and WakeForrest to win vs rooting for in-state BigXII team in KSU to win that WF-KSU play-in game? Sorry to the KSU lovers, but I'm pulling for Danny Manning's team. (nothing against Bruce Weber or any of his players).

Mar 14, 2017 03:17 AM #3

@ralster no question! ❤️💙

Mar 14, 2017 03:21 AM #4

I am having the same issue... I can't wait for it to start!

Mar 14, 2017 03:29 AM #5

@ralster I'm with you forsure, you know I used to not hate KSUCK but there were a few years where we were better in FB, BB and think it short circuited some of their fans and they couldn't handle it. I don't cheer for them regardless of the opponent because of that and anytime they achieve moderate success in their eyes they are a national power and feared bye all. Plus besides being coached by Manning, my sons name is Deacon and hes a demon at times himself lol.

Mar 14, 2017 03:31 AM #6

@kjayhawks ha ha! Danny will always be loved! Ksu well, there's this chant they do😡

Mar 14, 2017 03:33 AM #7

I love Danny Manning and I can't stand Bruce Weber. Go Wake Forest.

Mar 14, 2017 03:33 AM #8

Danny just talking about his frosh year at ksu when they threw chickens on the floor

Mar 14, 2017 03:54 AM #9

Danny and the Deacons

It gives new meaning to Danny and the Miracles

Mar 14, 2017 03:56 AM #10

@truehawk93

Danny and the Deacons...what a nice ring!!!!

Mar 14, 2017 03:58 AM #11

The Deacons will take the high road...

Mar 14, 2017 04:05 AM #12

Holiday time with the kids and family. My nieces and nephews around for the short time they are. There's nothing topping that. But the madness? Ya there's nothing besides the former of the two that compares. Atleast not since the dirt show is over

Mar 14, 2017 05:11 AM #13

Classic good v. Evil. Easy choice.

Mar 14, 2017 06:31 AM #14

@ralster

I have been trying to decide who to root for in this game and I decided to go with the in-state and conference team although it will not hurt my feelings if Wake Forest wins. The Big 12 and the ACC have been the top 2 conferences for the last few years and a win by KSU helps the conference and by extension KU. Also, the more games the more money the conference gets,..about $1.7M per win, not exactly chump change.

Mar 14, 2017 06:41 AM #15

I'm afraid that KState chant has converted this KU fan - who typically supported the state schools whenever KU was not involved -- into a Wake Forest fan for at least one game. Go Danny!

BTW, this officially marks my split from any major school in KS other than KU. Wichita State alienated me a couple years ago.

Mar 14, 2017 06:59 AM #16

@ralster Sorry, I just got to pull for Danny. - -I'm usually all about pulling for ALL the Big 12 when we get to post season, just makes our league look that much better. - -But not this time, not when it's Danny. - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Mar 14, 2017 01:00 PM #17

Big 12 homer here. I love Danny and hope he wins every game as a coach, except against Big 12 schools. RCJH and BIG 12.

Mar 15, 2017 01:49 AM #18

Get off of the court, Weber. This is getting old. Wake needs to run a big down the sideline to physically remove Weber from the court...

Mar 15, 2017 02:27 AM #19

Danny and the Deacons are within striking distance. Watch him out coach Weber.

Mar 15, 2017 02:42 AM #20

Wake better wake the hell up.

Mar 15, 2017 02:46 AM #21

I'm expecting some adjustments from Danny that change the game.

Mar 15, 2017 02:56 AM #22

Danny all the way. Well, at least til they play us whenever that is.

Mar 15, 2017 02:56 AM #23

Wake just missed a huge chance there, missed FTS and bunnies.

Mar 15, 2017 03:06 AM #24

Deacons

Mar 15, 2017 03:07 AM #25

Remember in 1988 Danny went to the line and Ed Manning yelled, "Settle down Danny"

Maybe Danny needs to tell his team to settle down. They can win this game.

Mar 15, 2017 03:22 AM #26

Looks like KSU is gonna pull away here.

Mar 15, 2017 03:22 AM #27

I don't think I've seen Wake make a three yet. Horrible shooting.

Mar 15, 2017 03:29 AM #28

@chriz their defense is a joke.

Mar 15, 2017 03:33 AM #29

How in the eff was that a flagrant 1?

Mar 15, 2017 03:33 AM #30

Wake relies way too much on the trey.

Mar 15, 2017 03:35 AM #31

Well I wanted Wake to win the game, but if there's a silver lining it's that a Big12 team advances and an ACC team is eliminated. Big12 now 7-1 against the best conference in the country.

Mar 15, 2017 03:37 AM #32

Hope this game isn't an indication of how fouls will be called this tournament. What a chopped up game.

Any other time I'd like to see Manning win. But the big 12 is desperate for a good tourney showing.

I think they'll get past Cincy.

Mar 15, 2017 03:39 AM #33

KSuck out played Wake the last 5 minutes of the game. Wake lost this in the last 5 minutes. They pulled within 1-2, but just couldn't maintain. Wake so close.

Mar 15, 2017 03:46 AM #34

@truehawk93 Kansas State outplayed them the entire game. Never trailed. dominated the paint. No defensive adjustments.

Mar 15, 2017 03:47 AM #35

KSU wins one for the Big 12 over the ACC.

Mar 15, 2017 04:09 AM #36

Good thing is the B12 gets a win, hopefully a good sign. KSU fans already blowing up social media like it's the NC.

Mar 15, 2017 04:10 AM #37

@kjayhawks and they win bruce another year!!!

Mar 15, 2017 12:21 PM #38

@kjayhawks

This is KSUs Play Hard Chart NC! They should have cut down the nets as their season is likely over.

Mar 15, 2017 04:39 PM #39

@StLJhawk As much as we give Weber shit about playing hard, its a big thing this time of year, you can't take possessions off. I wish all of our guys played hard, sometimes I think its just Mason and LL. It will take effort from every soul on this team to make a title run IMO.

Mar 15, 2017 05:10 PM #40

@kjayhawks yep. Frank and Landen have "senior urgency" like what Perry did.

Mar 16, 2017 01:02 AM #41

@kjayhawks I couldn't believe the Wake defense or what was supposedly a defense.

Mar 16, 2017 03:10 AM #42

@Blown Ok, ok, ok...I feel your B12 pain. However, let's not forget we need Danny Manning to continue his upward improvement as a head coach, so call me anti-B12 or just pro-Danny Manning, but he just may be the heir apparent to Bill Self. Maybe I'm too idealistic. But look at Danny Manning's progress. It's been much shorter than Self's and his impact at Tulsa and now Wake is extremely notable. He's flying under the radar and is horribly under rated. Let's see what Danny Manning does with Wake over the next 2-3 years.

Also, keep in mind Dook might be looking for a new competent, experienced head coach. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the ACC inter conference coaching policy might be, but Cuse is also looking for a great coach to lead the program after Boeheim retires.

KState might even give pause to Manning, not much, but his name may be brought up in discussions. Danny Manning will likely land at a Blue Blood (UK?). Why not his alma mater? The timing is a little tight because there is not much age difference between Self (1962) and Manning (1966). We've all talked about the possibility of Self jumping to the LEAGUE. Let's say I'm rooting for DMan and wish the best for him.

If it's any consolation, I was rooting for DMan, but glad the B12 had a great showing. I just don't want to give too much credit to the purple coach. Fair? Ok. BTW, Manning has a very special place in my heart. They won the NC in 1988, my sophomore year. So, forgive me if I root for the man or coach, not the team as much.

Mar 16, 2017 03:30 AM #43

@truehawk93

Not likely. Manning is only 4 years younger than Coach Self and by the time Coach Self is getting ready to retire Danny will be not too far behind. Because of his NBA career, Danny started coaching fairly late, compared other top coaches and spent a long time as an assistant coach and by the time he has enough gravitas he will be close to retirement age. Given the circumstances, Danny's best path is probably to build his legacy at Wake Forest where he seems to be making good progress.

Mar 16, 2017 04:14 AM #44

@JayHawkFanToo Here's a possibility. Self goes to the league and brings Manning with him? But you're right, Manning may want to remain at Wake and build that legacy.

Mar 16, 2017 04:25 AM #45

@JayHawkFanToo I'm just talking or telling tales out of school, but my NBA dream coaching staff would be...

Bill Self

Danny Manning

Billy GIllespie

Norm Roberts

Kurtis Townsend would likely land at a great program.

Snacks would do fairly well at a strong Mid-Major.

I'm typing out loud. But this would be my NBA coaching staff of the year.

Mar 16, 2017 04:36 AM #46

@truehawk93

I think the coaching personalities needed for the NBA are quite different than those for college. In college assistant coaches tell the players what to do and they do it. In the NBA assistants suggest to the players what to do and players, who all make more money than the coaches, tell them if they feel like doing it...or not.
