Frank Martin smiling looks more surreal than Crying Jordan.

Mar 25, 2017 12:06 AM #2

Carolina is being allowed to play hockey out there

Mar 25, 2017 12:08 AM #3

The Penis Chickens are giving Faylor all they can handle so far.

Mar 25, 2017 12:12 AM #4

Outside of UNC's offense, pretty ugly night so far.

Seen a ton of air balls.

Mar 25, 2017 12:13 AM #5

Baylor is stinking it up big time.

Mar 25, 2017 12:13 AM #6

This is ridiculous. Drew let them get up 15 before calling a to. Guess he didn't have any adjustments to coach.

Mar 25, 2017 12:14 AM #7

I'm split, think I may be rooting for Frank Martin here.

Mar 25, 2017 12:14 AM #8

No way. Big 12 all the way. The stronger we show in the tourney the better 13 straight looks.

Mar 25, 2017 12:16 AM #9

@Blown I know I know. But the fact that we won on a razor's edge all season in conference and then go nuclear on the rest of the world in the tourney might just speak volumes enough for the Big 12.

Mar 25, 2017 12:16 AM #10

@approxinfinity I'm a Frank Martin fan. I hate Drew.

Mar 25, 2017 12:22 AM #11

@approxinfinity don't traitor on me now !

Mar 25, 2017 12:23 AM #12

This sc defense is the best I've seen all year

Mar 25, 2017 12:26 AM #13

Wow did SC turn it on late. I like Martin but also cheer for B12 teams. I really don't think it matters wether the B12 looks tough or not we kicked the conference's butt bye four games.

Mar 25, 2017 12:42 AM #14

Scott Drew is doing a great job so far.

Mar 25, 2017 12:45 AM #15

Kansas is the only team from the big 12 who routinely makes runs in the tourney. OU broke through last year but prior to that 12 years passed since another team from the conference made it to the FF. IMO tourney success is important for our conference.

Mar 25, 2017 12:51 AM #16

.....but drew is getting depantsed on national tv and offered no adjustments.

Mar 25, 2017 12:59 AM #17

Was that the first decent zone offense execution by BU.

You think they would know how to break a zone.

Mar 25, 2017 01:21 AM #18

baylor is so bad

Mar 25, 2017 01:23 AM #19

@BeddieKU23 it looks that way doesn't it.

Mar 25, 2017 01:26 AM #20

This Baylor game is ugly and Baylor looks terrible. Oooh boy

Mar 25, 2017 01:26 AM #21

The other Big 12 teams crapped the bed in the tourney............again. Our back is getting tired of carrying those other teams.

Mar 25, 2017 01:28 AM #22

@Hawk8086 well, the big 12 did have 3 teams in the sweet sixteen. ACC only had one.

Mar 25, 2017 01:28 AM #23

@KUSTEVE @globaljaybird will be mad he didn't come up w/that.

Mar 25, 2017 01:28 AM #24

@Hawk8086 WVU shot 28% or whatever and lost by a bucket, at least that one was close.

Mar 25, 2017 01:30 AM #25

@approxinfinity It was but that last possession..........pitiful.

Mar 25, 2017 01:31 AM #26

ugh. the two good games are soooo late!

Mar 25, 2017 01:31 AM #27

As far as I can tell Drew made zero adjustments

Mar 25, 2017 01:34 AM #28

Wow, out for dinner, came home expecting a good end to a game or two. Baylor looks awful.

Mar 25, 2017 01:37 AM #29

@wissox the next two should be good. who wins Kentucky UCLA? Your Badgers match up against Florida?

Mar 25, 2017 01:42 AM #30

@approxinfinity I think UCLA and of course, the Badgers win. I honestly know little about Florida. They've got some very quick guards but they're not going to have an answer for Hayes and Happ.

Mar 25, 2017 01:49 AM #31

@KUSTEVE @Crimsonorblue22 is right, am jealous πŸ˜’ I didn't come up wit dat That's a good' n Jethro.

Mar 25, 2017 01:50 AM #32

Sc held Baylor scoreless for 7.5 minutes in the
First half. And another run 2 points in 5 minutes in the second half. Un. real.

Mar 25, 2017 01:52 AM #33

Scott drew deer in headlights look. He had it tonight and his dad in the stands had the same look.

Mar 25, 2017 01:53 AM #34

@wissox kept looking at his damn notecards. Had a week to prepare and barely broke 50.

Mar 25, 2017 01:57 AM #35

I just posted on another thread. I don't understand Faylor at all.

Mar 25, 2017 01:59 AM #36

@wissox It's his X's and O's. He just can't perform at this level. Martin flat out coached him. PERIOD.

Mar 25, 2017 02:05 AM #37

Drew should not be coaching. He needs to be a recruiter for a real coach.

Mar 25, 2017 02:06 AM #38

@DanR I've always said it over the years that Drew is Barnes 2.0 Those two coaches have had some of the best talent in D1 over the years and they always seem to miss when it counts.

Mar 25, 2017 02:18 AM #39

BK!

Mar 25, 2017 02:23 AM #40

Good start for Bucky!

Mar 25, 2017 02:25 AM #41

@HawkChamp said:

Not sure that is much to crow about. 3 other conferences also had 3 teams in the Sweet Sixteen. The SEC could have 3 in the Elite 8. The P12 or SEC will have at least 2. If FL beats Wisconsin, the SEC will be guaranteed at least 1 FF team. The B12 has played exactly to seed thus far - and for that to continue, KU has to beat Oregon. This is the 3rd or 4th year in a row that Baylor has lost to a lower seeded team - at least it wasn't a double digit seed. When was the last time a B12 team beat a higher seed? I don't know which is why I'm asking, but I don't recall one in the recent future - although I know that B12 teams have had numerous losses to lower seeded teams.

Mar 25, 2017 02:26 AM #42

Mar 25, 2017 02:26 AM #43

I assume we're rooting for Kentucky?

Mar 25, 2017 02:30 AM #44

Speaking of coaches. OSU picked their next coach. Pants just can't seem to get a break at his alma mater. The Animal Sports Radio of OKC talked all day long. Many OSU fans thought Pants should've gotten the job. They think the interview with Pants was an appeasement for some. Many alumni DO NOT want Pants to be the head coach of OSU.

Jim Traber (Former OSU baseball alum and local sports analyst) believes because Pants coached in AAU, he knows how to coach at this level. Poor Pants, always a bridesmaid and never a bride. Maybe when he gets his pants on right, he can coach some day. They basically allowed Pants to show at an interview and simply told him that he would not be the next head coach.

(

This is pretty much how the interview went between Doug Pants on Backwards Gotlieb and Mike Holder. There is a striking resemblance between Pants and Commodus.

Remember Scooter Barry? HIs brother, yes, his brother plays for Florida, Canyon. Different mother, same famous Dad.

Mar 25, 2017 02:39 AM #46

Only watched about first 5 - 10 minutes of Butler/UNC and by then it didn't look good for Butler. From the final score it looks like they tried a comeback and UNC probably padded the difference from the charity stripe. Am I right or wrong?

Mar 25, 2017 02:41 AM #47

I was stoked today. I went to a leadership conference here in OKC. One of the guest speakers was Joe Washington. He told the story of how KU beat OU. I was Rock Chalkin' all day long to hear Joe Washington tell the story of how KU beat OU in football during his time at OU. However, they also won 2 Natl' Championships too. So I didn't press it much. I did speak to him during his book signing and all I said to him was Rock Chalk, and he laughed. He said, "Good luck in the NCAA tourney, I think you all can win it." It was fun.

Another funny story was a win against Misery. OU was down in Columbia and the play went to Joe Washington who ran in and scored the winning TD against Misery. Joe Washington used a term I've never heard before in my life. He said after that stunning loss, the stadium went quiet, and you coud, "hear a rat pissing on cotton." I died laughing.

Mar 25, 2017 02:41 AM #48

@brooksmd OUt enjoying some seafood before the big game tonight, so I don't know. The lame restauarant we were in was showing womens basketball!

Mar 25, 2017 02:43 AM #49

I think I had Steve Alford's haircut in middle School

Mar 25, 2017 02:45 AM #50

So far the pace certainly favors UK. Can't say I'd ever root for either team under any circumstances. Will say I'm ready to be done hearing about "ball"

Mar 25, 2017 02:50 AM #51

Honestly, I just dont understand this "root for the Big12" nonsense, when done blanket-fashion& with no thinking or analysis, whatsoever.

Sorry, my respect for Big12 coaches and teams is EARNED. Thus, I rooted for wvu/Huggins, HOF-level coach, as they just about kicked our butt twice. Sad to see wvu lose. I have NO such respect for Scot Drew. When the hell did he do anything to earn respect--he holds the ignominous distinction of being disdained by his fellow coaches. Wont root for IowaSt as a matter of principle, against their fanbase.

GET THIS: The work a team needs to do to get "respect" happens BEFORE the Madness, as they try to MAKE the Tourney. Once you make the Dance, its every team for itself!

I'll root for fellow bluebloods KY, UNC, UCLA, and even possibly Duke, if you make me choose between them and Faylor/Drew, or IowaSt, or KSU. I would root for OU, TCU, TxTech, as I hold Kruger, Dixon, and Beard in high regard. Lots of respect for Underwood as well, sad he left.

Respect is earned. Dont cheapen it by giving it freely. You're nothing but a blind sheep if you do. I thought KU fans were knowledgeable, & students of the game, not blindly-following other B12 teams you ought to know so well. Unbelievable.

Mar 25, 2017 02:52 AM #52

Cliff Notes version: Baylor is a joke.

Mar 25, 2017 02:56 AM #53

@ralster Revenue sharing would be the only reason to want other conference teams to win. Is there sharing at all in this day & age?

Mar 25, 2017 03:04 AM #54

Badgers went brain dead last five minutes of the half, silly fouls, turnovers

Mar 25, 2017 03:07 AM #55

@truehawk93 Another PHOF !

Mar 25, 2017 03:10 AM #56

@chriz need pics!

Mar 25, 2017 03:11 AM #57

@globaljaybird I knew you would love that, put that in your book of famous sayings!

@wissox said:

Academic All American of the Year. 4.0 in Nuclear Engineering grad school. Canyon is pretty brightd (edit: bright!)

Mar 25, 2017 03:17 AM #59

@chriz I am. UCLA has an extremely powerful offense I'd rather take on The streaky kids from U.K. I just think HCBS has Cal's # ... Balls' πŸ€ old man has had enough press-Send em home,

Mar 25, 2017 03:19 AM #60

@mayjay Is brightd in da funk & wagnalls?

Mar 25, 2017 03:24 AM #61

@globaljaybird Ha! No, it is on my phone keyboard when failing to hold the "d" down long enough to get an exclamation mark.

So, should have been "bright!"

Ironic, perhaps, as I was not too.....?

Mar 25, 2017 03:32 AM #62

@mayjay Is that bright as in his pile is "glowing?"

Mar 25, 2017 03:39 AM #63

Old man Ball, if things stay as they are, will probably pipe up and say he could've coached UCLA to an easy 20+ win over Kensucky.

Mar 25, 2017 03:40 AM #64

Frank is 5:42 away from being POY.

Mar 25, 2017 03:41 AM #65

@approxinfinity

YES!

Mar 25, 2017 03:41 AM #66

Come onnnnnnn.... Badgers!

Mar 25, 2017 03:44 AM #67

@drgnslayr WE've got some referee problems right now

Mar 25, 2017 03:44 AM #68

@ralster a blind sheep because my loyalty lies with 1. Kansas 2. Big 12vs anyone else in the NCAA tournament ? It needs no reflection, nor "analysis" it's a pretty simple concept to understand and not need explained. My loyalty to the big 12 performance in the dance goes beyond any petty disdain I might have for a coach or a fan base. As the coaches change out I'll still support the teams. I also don't like Marshall much at all but after the big 12 I cheer for wsu because of their being from Kansas. Calling people sheep because they have a different opinion than you might have is an insult to which you are above.

Mar 25, 2017 03:44 AM #69

Any day now, we will find out that God took a couple days longer in Genesis than Daddy Ball would have needed.

Mar 25, 2017 03:48 AM #71

If the ball kid wins POY, I'll be pissed. He had 7 points in the pac12 tournament and has 8 currently with 3 minutes to play. The best players step up when it's time, not down. He shouldn't be on the ballot.

Mar 25, 2017 03:48 AM #72

I don't really want to see 3 freaking SEC teams make the elite 8 like's about to happen if the Badgers don't do their thing.

Mar 25, 2017 03:51 AM #73

Nigel taking over

Mar 25, 2017 03:52 AM #74

@wissox

But their come back is happening N O W !

Mar 25, 2017 03:52 AM #75

@kjayhawks He just got a dunk! That is worth tons of press & photos, and easily outweighs any NCAA tourney stats by lesser beings!

Mar 25, 2017 03:53 AM #76

@Crimsonorblue22 cameras weren't invented yet lol

Mar 25, 2017 03:55 AM #77

When Fox plays this way UK is tough. If we can get past Oregon, it won't be easy. I think the NC comes from this side of the bracket. Ether us, UNC, UK or Oregon. Hopefully us lol.

Mar 25, 2017 03:57 AM #78

Buzzer, End Scene. Peace out Ball.

Rooting for them against UNC for the same reason!

Mar 25, 2017 04:00 AM #80

So if they look at tournament performance, I guess there is only one choice for the award.

Mar 25, 2017 04:02 AM #81

Lonzo better than Frank, though. Just ask Dad.

Mar 25, 2017 04:03 AM #82

@brooksmd They've run out of excuses.

Mar 25, 2017 04:06 AM #83

@kjayhawks idk. If SC plays defense like that. They can make it tough on anyone. I think they've been overlooked and probably rightly so based on body of work. But I look for them to come out of the left side of they continue to play D. On the other hand. Statistics show Martin has always had Drew's #. Not that that is largely uncommon

Mar 25, 2017 04:08 AM #84

@chriz think I'd rather play UNC. Self >Roy and no revenge factor. First and foremost. The ducks

Mar 25, 2017 04:09 AM #85

@brooksmd ya Mason is averaging 22 and 7 in the tournament. If he doesn't win, there will be not doubt that it is rigged. Thought that when Trob didn't win it ether especially knowing the voting was over before the FF. I believe the voting for some closed after the first weekend of this tournament.

Mar 25, 2017 04:09 AM #86

Combination of refs and Allen ended this game for the Badgers.

Mar 25, 2017 04:09 AM #87

@cragarhawk true, and UNC apparently does well with revenge, based on tonight

Mar 25, 2017 04:15 AM #88

@wissox Hayes is playing like he's lost his mind.

Mar 25, 2017 04:16 AM #89

Hold on @wissox they're not done yet...

Mar 25, 2017 04:17 AM #90

@approxinfinity think he didnt like getting told to "get that sh-- out" when the Florida guy blocked him. Settle Down Nigel.

Mar 25, 2017 04:21 AM #91

5 pt game. they got a decent press?

Mar 25, 2017 04:23 AM #92

I have to give wiscy the edge late game. One possession. Games gettin excitin

Mar 25, 2017 04:24 AM #93

wow 3 pt game!

Mar 25, 2017 04:25 AM #94

Come on Badgers. We don't want 3 sec in the E8...

Mar 25, 2017 04:27 AM #95

OT???

Mar 25, 2017 04:27 AM #96

Hahahahaha. Wow!!

Mar 25, 2017 04:28 AM #97

Mar 25, 2017 04:28 AM #98

Mar 25, 2017 04:28 AM #99

@approxinfinity unbelievable!

Mar 25, 2017 04:28 AM #100

I switched it back on. Kind of glad I did.

Mar 25, 2017 04:29 AM #101

@wissox

Here we come!

Mar 25, 2017 04:30 AM #102

My mind's still negative. They'll probably give Florida a foul here.

Mar 25, 2017 04:30 AM #103

@wissox nah. They got this

Mar 25, 2017 04:31 AM #104

@wissox

Nope. OT!

Mar 25, 2017 04:31 AM #105

that looked good for a sec

Mar 25, 2017 04:31 AM #106

First OT game of the dance right??

Mar 25, 2017 04:32 AM #107

@wissox

Come on... think positive for 5 more minutes.

Badgers are IN!

Mar 25, 2017 04:32 AM #108

@cragarhawk

Right

Mar 25, 2017 04:32 AM #109

@drgnslayr Man, we got foul trouble, Florida doesn't. I hope of course!

Mar 25, 2017 04:33 AM #110

@wissox

It's all about momentum and heart.

Mar 25, 2017 04:33 AM #111

Friggin' flop

Mar 25, 2017 04:34 AM #112

Florida's fall down beg the call is ridiculous.

Amazing 3 pt runner to tie it up

Mar 25, 2017 04:35 AM #116

@wissox cheap foul. But wiscy wants it more right now. That will prevail

Mar 25, 2017 04:35 AM #117

FL = Bowling pins

Mar 25, 2017 04:38 AM #120

Badgers shoot FT's worse than KU

Mar 25, 2017 04:38 AM #121

Florida is only focusing on flopping. Wisc just needs to focus on basketball.

Mar 25, 2017 04:42 AM #122

HAPPy

Mar 25, 2017 04:42 AM #123

Florida is freakin' out. They thought they could flop their way to the Elite 8.

Mar 25, 2017 04:43 AM #124

@wissox damn right on the FTS wow

Mar 25, 2017 04:44 AM #125

Bad call... but here is the karma coming back.

Mar 25, 2017 04:46 AM #126

granny time

Mar 25, 2017 04:47 AM #127

@wissox that's unbelievable

Mar 25, 2017 04:47 AM #128

They need FT shooters in.

Mar 25, 2017 04:48 AM #129

That was ridiculous effort by WI there. Come on.

Mar 25, 2017 04:48 AM #130

Ouch..

Mar 25, 2017 04:48 AM #131

I just made a thread about this stupid f@cking coke commercial

Mar 25, 2017 04:48 AM #132

Mar 25, 2017 04:49 AM #133

Mar 25, 2017 04:50 AM #134

This game is getting interesting.

Come on, Hayes... surprise us.

Mar 25, 2017 04:51 AM #135

Just make the first one and miss the second.

Mar 25, 2017 04:52 AM #136

Oh my. Great game though

Mar 25, 2017 04:52 AM #137

sh@t

That is why I wanted him to miss the second shot.

Mar 25, 2017 04:52 AM #138

Whole time I'm remembering UCLA & misery Infamous Tyus Edny

Big 10 no more !!

Mar 25, 2017 04:53 AM #139

SEC has 3 teams in the Elite 8

Mar 25, 2017 04:54 AM #140

Goodnight all.

I'm going to go puke now

Mar 25, 2017 04:54 AM #141

Too bad. wI gave that away by not closing out strong and hitting FTs.

Mar 25, 2017 04:55 AM #142

Never let them take the 3 pt shot for the win. Foul'em. Worse that can happen is another OT.

Mar 25, 2017 04:55 AM #143

@drgnslayr said:

And a guaranteed Final Four spot.

Mar 25, 2017 04:55 AM #144

This is bad for SC. Their defense won't be a shock to UF.

Sorry @wissox! Your guys gave it a good try but they were just spent at the end.

Mar 25, 2017 04:56 AM #145

@brooksmd I disagree. Hayes missed like eight free throws by himself. Cant do that.

Mar 25, 2017 04:56 AM #146

I would have used my last time out. Have him miss the second ft. Or set up a better D on the make... To many guys too far forward. Once one was beat. They all were

Mar 25, 2017 04:57 AM #147

I don't cuss, but I feel like it. Badgers choked, then the dude made a good shot obviously

Sorry @wissox! Your guys gave it a good try but they were just spent at the end.

SCar and Florida split their regular season games with each winning at home.

Mar 25, 2017 04:58 AM #149

@wissox they had a good run. For what it's worth my wife had them playing KU for the NC

Mar 25, 2017 05:01 AM #150

@cragarhawk That's more faith than I had in them! Sure glad the Jayhawks are playing again tomorrow! The Badgers overcame some horrible 2nd half officiating tonight. Offensive goaltending not called, Happ called for a charge when the guy had a foot inside the arc. Block on Iverson who spent five minutes waiting in the lane for the Florida guy to run him over.

But on the other hand, Florida shot very well, made some plays and won the freaking game with an unreal shot.

Mar 25, 2017 05:02 AM #151

@brooksmd Some coaches don't think until it's too late. Sayonara sucker...

Mar 25, 2017 05:04 AM #152

@globaljaybird Both coaches!

Mar 25, 2017 05:08 AM #153

@globaljaybird Yep. If Sleazy had his players foul Collins in back court we probably wouldn't have won the NC in 2008.

Mar 25, 2017 05:09 AM #154

@brooksmd There ya go ... GN Mike on da rebound

Mar 25, 2017 05:09 AM #155

@wissox crazy finish. Basically identical to the shot that forced overtime. Only not as well defended IMO

Mar 25, 2017 07:22 AM #156

@Blown Sheep is a rather simple term, perhaps not doing justice to the point I'm trying to make. Instead of using many words, I used only 1.

I'll try again, here: Anybody can root for anybody. All I'm saying is that I'm personally not going to root for certain teams, while I absolutely WILL root for other B12 teams. The portion that makes me feel like "just a sheep following the herd" is some notion that just because another team is in the B12, hate us, gunning for us, but ope...woop...now we in the Tourney so we must all root for them.

Here's yet another IowaSt fanbase story, just learned of this last week, as told to me by a KU grad: his buddy was going to Butler juco, got recruited by IowaSt football to come for campus visit in Ames, IA. So the KU kid drives his friend. KU sticker on car, of course. They got free tckts to Cyclone-ku bball game, so they go. KU kid went to h.s. w/Perry Ellis, wanted to see him play. They come out of game, find dagger sticking out of car hood. Poked dicctThats f-ckin' sports?... and adding that to all the other crap, like I'm going to root for their team?! Nothing at all against Brackins, Niang, Monte Morris, Deondre Burton ...fine players. Or Hoiberg, great guy. But I'm still not rooting for them!

Call me petty, I'll agree with ya. Say I hold grudges, I'll say that's mostly true. Ask me to blanket support B12 teams, I'll say "wait a minute.." Certain teams fanbases are on par with Mizzou. Do I have to remind anybody about that "Missouri 83-Kansas 0" sign they held up in Arrowhead? And a Missouri judge has it framed on his wall. Is that sports??! (83 civilians killed by Quantrills raiders, Lwrnce, KS).

But wait, when Mizzou was a Big12 team, I suppose you'd root for them also??? I remember a lot of laughter after NorfolkState. They didnt make the Big12 look bad...sheesh, they made themselves look bad!

Ask Nathan Power of KSU if his hate is petty, or if it runs deep? Then you decide for yourself (not the rest of us) if you still want to root for their team? Nothing against their team, or their oddball coach. They tried to injure our players. "Herd" mentality right there, caught on TV...you like that word better than "sheep". Same connotation, but at least "herd" isnt sounding as meek "sheep", eh?

I reserve the right to root for whoever, but its always qualifed, never blanket acceptance. Despite Marshall's dislike of KU & Self, I do root for WSU, for many personal reasons, & because I respect Marshall's coaching both ends of the floor.

By the logic presented above, we'd be rooting for ku #1, then Big 12 next, without any qualifiers about Mizzou (in their B12 era), IowaSt, KSU, or TX? Go root for whoever you want, but dont expect me to blindly follow.

@ralster It doesn't say Big 12 on the jersey- it says Kansas. I don't root for other Big 12 teams, and could frankly care less whether they win or lose. I only care about Kansas.

@KUSTEVE

In most years, I'd argue that the fate of the Big 12 affects whether recruits want to play in the league (are the games televised? are the matchups hyped up? is the media following the team?), and where the selection committee places us based on RPI or whatever metrics they decide to use,

But this year, Kansas Basketball is transcendent: POY front-runner, dynamic offense, sneaky good defense, exploding in radiant colors in March, and still ESPN is luke-warm at best to what is happening. So I don't know. Big 12 matters, but maybe not to the point where we have to root for teams we personally don't usually like, just because.

I'll root for Huggins, among others, though. I like him.

I find myself more cheering against teams/conferences than I do cheering for other teams in the conference. SEC of course is my nemesis, and this is a nightmare of a postseason as the league we make fun of all year has a guaranteed final 4 team, and possibly two.

@mayjay Perfect photo that you have entered into evidence, sir: Frank Mason and KANSAS are doing just fine representing the BigXII! You couldnt have picked a better representative!

In other evidenciary proceedings, we see Baylor and ScotDrew have beshat themselves, yet again...the evidence mounts...
