No KC playoff Blue October this year but Royals diehards like us will surely be Blue after the FA guys play their last (very likely) game together this afternoon at Kauffman Stadium. We'll most certainly lose at the very minimum, 3 tremendously successful Gold Glove starters who hit for power AND average. and that would be a colossal task for any team to overcome going forward. We might be able to keep one that's cost effective, but the days of our Royals leading the majors in comebacks are probably vanishing with LoCain. Moose, Hos, Esky, & Vargas. Hell, 2 of those guys have a tremendous shot at winning comeback player of the year. The young bucks waiting in the shadows have watched something very special pass before us all, & when it is their time to shine, will recall how winning chemistry makes it all click like clockwork.
Also I wanted to get this out early as a shout out to Mike for being so damn much fun & hangin out with us on these game (baseball & hoops) chats for the past 3-4 years. @Crimsonorblue22, myself & many others sorely do miss his very special brand of wit & wisdom, which was always perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of salt. I was honored to welcome him in my home this summer, take a short local road trip with Rascal & I, and yes, the beer here was, as always, tempered at 33 degrees.
