I expect the team will play to win for a lot of reasons. I have asked myself what it feels like to be the KU team that many other teams refused? This team has got to play for all the other teams that fought to keep this nightmare from coming to a conclusion. Some think they might rebound, pun intended. Some think they may suffer loses much like the 1988 team, and maybe follow the path of Danny and the Miracles. Wouldn't it be ironic if KU played OU again? And won...again. Some have a horrible fear they may just fall off the top 25, and enter the NCAA tourney all low seed. I don't care who you are, but for KU to be a 6-9 seed and a 1-4 to play them, would still be scary, because they are KU and capable of going ape shit on any team. You can say what you want about KU's seed regardless of how low they are (even 10-12), but you know most of the higher seeds will definitely see them as super dangerous. Is this what it's going to take for this team to wake up and play their hearts out, and survive? I think maybe.

Not ranked wk 9, swept by OU in Conf play, and beat them in the NC game.

Final B8 standings:

OU 12-2

Kstate 11-3 (I would see WVU in this line)

KU 9-5

27-11 and 9-5 in conference play. I think we would all say this was ugly today. We weren't the B8 Champs, hell we didn't even win the B8 tourney.

But we won the NC. Anything is possible. But who'da thunk this team would do what they did against the odds then?

@approxinfinity couple the defender grabbed clear around his body. We would want that call for any of our guys anywhere the game was I think

They are talking about something I noticed every game. - -If you watch Trae he won't play Defense a lot in the game - -the announcers are talking about it how he won't play defense in the 1st half afraid to get in foul trouble.

Man is that the right approach? A coaching staff working and telling him it's ok not to play the defense in the 1st half? - -I don't know, - -if your the other players on the team ya think they tell them it's ok to take a break on the defensive end so you don't pick up a foul in the 1st half? - I'm sure they don't. I'm not sure how well that would work on team chemistry?

Can someone tell me WHY we start falling behind when Newman gets in the game. When he is on the bench, we seem to get ahead by 10-12 pts. But I've noticed when he gets in the game, the other team seems to cut the lead to single digits.

Newman's strength just might be attacking the rim. I think he could actually make a living from the FT line.

Observations today:

Unless the Chiefs are playing a team from Houston in the playoffs, bet on them to lose.

Trae Young is the best offensive player in the country, but he's also OU's only offensive threat. OU also does not play any defense.

Duke also does not play a lick of defense this year.

Missouri, the end of that game was enjoyable.

Kansas really needs Texas A&M to stop their free fall so KU can get another quality non-conference win at the end of this month.

@truehawk93 Newman is still in his MSU mindset of thinking he has to carry a team when he's on the floor, I think.

Cunliffe has been very solid tonight as well. I'd rather see him as the guard off the bench instead of Newman, but I wonder what that what do to Newman's confidence, or of that would light a fire under his butt to play better.

Rebounding is still a huge issue though. TCU currently has more offensive rebounds than KU has defensive rebounds. KU is -14 on the glass right now for the game.
