The Evolution of Doke
Feb 18, 2018 01:31 AM #1

Over the course of this season has been something. His jump hook is fairly reliable. I'd like to see him getting at least 10 shots a game.

Can you believe his FT's tonight!? 7-10!!! That's :fire: :fire: :fire:
And the big boy made some seriously big plays! We won that game cuz of Doke

Hello!

This is why we watch this sport- nites like this. Passion. Energy. Major conference battle. (The refs seemed to let the physicality get out of hand)
It was Udoke’s turn tonite to step up. Our center is a big bad beast.

We won and a win is a win in conf play. BIGTIME

What’s next for this team ??

who the hell knows .. I’ve given up trying to guess this year. It is what it is.

He looks so much thinner, and more agile. 7 out of 10 at the line is like winning the lottery for us.

His post game interview was energetic, confident and engaging. Very impressive everything from Doke tonight.

Feb 18, 2018 01:56 AM #6

He was pumped and happy!

Not to toot my own horn lol, but I said at half tim e with Doke having just a single foul, it was his time to go into beast mode. He answered the call.

Best game of his young career. Played great offensively and not just on alley oop dunks. Great at the line. Great on the glass. Huge blocks (even with some body) down the stretch. Great game for his confidence moving into March.

@joeloveshawks just want he needed

Feb 18, 2018 02:05 AM #10

Graham quietly lead the team in rebounds and assists as he came close to a triple double.

Did you see Roy's guarantee they won't find anything wrong with UNC flash on the bottom of the tv screen. That is very reassuring coming from the guy that was clueless on fake college classes for years.

Feb 18, 2018 02:17 AM #13

If he didn't he should have and he's still responsible either way.

Unbelievably bad pass by Baylor with 17. 9 left up by one to give TT ball back.

Feb 18, 2018 02:52 AM #16

@approxinfinity Makes me sick to my stomach.

Feb 18, 2018 02:52 AM #17

5.3 left, Baylor shooting 2!

Feb 18, 2018 02:52 AM #18

Feb 18, 2018 02:54 AM #21

THANK YOU BAYLOR!

Feb 18, 2018 02:55 AM #22

Winner, winner...chicken dinner....

Feb 18, 2018 02:59 AM #23

@Gunman Notice that he said that UNC was not the target of the FBI...just because they aren't the target doesn't mean that they, along with others could face sanctions. I think he chose his words very carefully, there.

Feb 18, 2018 03:01 AM #24

@Hawk8086 He always has.

Feb 18, 2018 03:24 AM #25

Doke was my hero tonight. If he can maintain that and we can get Svi and/or Vick going, we can beat anyone.

Feb 18, 2018 03:33 AM #26

The OU game was a rude awakening and a wake call for Doke about the importance of FTs and he has improved by leaps and bounds. It is obvious he is working hard on his form and I will take 7-10 any day. 👍🏆

Feb 18, 2018 04:12 AM #27

So, am I rehashing too much? See how easy it is to get him semi-competent from the line? And we lost the OU game because no one had previously bothered to do so.

Feb 18, 2018 07:53 PM #28

Doke has inspired and inordinate number of lane violations. Pretty interesting aspect to his FT shooting. Once yesterday he made them pay by cashing on the newfound opportunity.

Feb 18, 2018 08:23 PM #29

@HighEliteMajor Has been a big change, I agree he probably wasn't being coached up on it adequately. I also think a part of it was Doke didn't think it was that big of deal until he cost his team a game. Normally I think that would have been easy to deal with by using a little pine time to get his attention. This year Self could not afford to bench him and I still think Self hung him out to dry in part to get his attention.

Feb 19, 2018 01:37 AM #30

@Kubie I got back to after his injury last season to his left wrist. There is no reason why he couldn't have been shooting free throws, with proper form, elbow underneath, to be ready for this season. I don't think Self or his staff insisted he change. The reason I say that is because in the past, they'd just talked about practicing more (even last season before he was hurt). After OU, I think the staff insisted, and Doke willingly complied. I just don't think it was on their radar. Nothing that was every said indicates it was on their radar. We may find out as some point .. maybe when we find out what really went on with Preston.

@HighEliteMajor That should be any minute now.
