They've won everything so far. It's a very different team than the last two. The last two teams were very experienced and played close to their ceiling very early on. This is a much younger and inexperienced team and still nowhere near their ceiling.

The defense has gotten vastly better since the start and I expect Self to work a lot on the offense in the next couple of weeks when KU will have a lot more practice time.

This team is winning and has beaten 3 currently ranked teams, all on neutral courts and all currently top 20 with 2 in the top 10 and will play a 4th top 20 team away from AFH Saturday.

If KU beats ASU Saturday, they'll be 4-0 against current top 20 teams and none of those wins will have been in AFH.

This isn't a team that's going to blow many teams out, but this is becoming a very good team very quickly.

Just need to actually run some offense in the second half. Too many quick shots, I think the only reason they got 27 was because Self left David out there and his guy scored 10 on him (which is fine, he needs PT). Just clean up some switching issue on defense and take/make good shots, 30 point win.

I would say that Self is absolutely treating this game like an exhibition. The rotation will be tighter against ASU.

SD actually shooting it better. Fun.

The only one who does play under control consistently is Dedric, and he's the one who's been having the most success.

Nice to see Charlie and David get going there. I think Self ran with some odd line ups at times to get both K.J. and David is kinda why we struggled so hard at certain points. I really hoped Q would get going tonight tho it didn’t happen. He honestly doesn’t look athletic enough to play guard at this level so far, I think he has to be hitting 3s to be effective (MSU game). If he can’t by ND guards, he’ll struggle getting bye most in the B12.

Grimes did not have the game we hoped but it was not bad either...baby steps...

South Dakota lost to Duke 96-80 last year and even outscored Duke 50-40 in second half. Their players in post game mentioned that they didn't compete against Kansas like they did against Duke last year.

@approxinfinity hard to read into these type games we knew we would win playing lousy as we did for about 32 minutes. I was definitely glad to see us wake up there for sure tho.

The game really slowed down for Dave during that run. When he jab-stepped and drilled a little j there on a run out you could see he was thinking 2 moves ahead. He has the mindset to be great!

After listening to both of the Lawson brothers, kJ on ku sports.com interview today and numerous times w/Dedric, it's so very hard for me to believe we were worried about their bad behavior pre KU. They both are very intelligent and speak highly of their teammates, coaches and fans. Dedric mentioned "loving" Mitch tonight. Kudos to parents and I'm sure Self has them buying into the team ball but they really impress me.

I think this team needed this type of win tonight. It wasn't pretty but we saw some good individual performances from guys who really hadn't impacted the games leading in. This gives me confidence we can go on the road and get some Arizona St revenge.

Moore finally made shots and had some good energy besides some horrible D. Big Dave looked a lot more comfortable later in the 2nd half. Love his effort and motor. If they can get him under control as the season goes by then he starts putting himself on the map for minutes. I think Self has to find a way to play him because he rebounds and runs the floor as good as any big we have.
