Seems like Turner Gills trip to College Station or TCU in 2017 is the last time I remember being flat out whipped like this. Obviously being a few plays from 4-0 we have got the wake up call, that we are no where near ready to compete at the power 5 level. I bet WV has their lone win in conference and we dont get one. We need to recruit the trenches super hard.

My point is that TCU has already turned off the gas. It could have been worse.

By the end of the game, we may get 14 or even 17 points.. And maybe they score another touchdown and a couple field goals.. Score might be 52-17... but that will look better than what it really could have been, which is 70 - 0

@bskeet it could've easily been 52 to nothing had they got a TD there and not dropped an INT.

@kjayhawks Yeah, that is a better way of saying the score doesn't reflect how lopsided this is..

They look like they could easily beat us 110 to 0 if they wanted.

@bskeet now I didnt expect a win today but was hopeful we could hang for a half and lose by a few scores. Big step back today unfortunately.

I really thought our team would at least show today - but just a really sad performance - -no reason for this kind of showing - -have a little pride - show some fight - I mean dam - -barely going through the motions

@bskeet This just in - they have officially changed their initials to TDU. That was not a Christian move. You can figure out what the "D" stands for.

Pretty classy move there Patterson hopefully in a few years we can return the favor. I'm completely shocked as to why Stanley played the whole game, he missed long on 2 sure fire TDs.

I saw a few miss a few catches too.

The receivers didn't help Stanley much today, but Carter Stanley played like shit today. Stanley has had 1 good game and 3 bad games this year. This is why he's better suited as a back up.

As bad as the 1st half was, the 2nd half would've been the perfect chance to put someone else in at QB and let them see what they could do.

Rumors about Khalil Herbert are that he's going to sit out the rest of this season thanks to the redshirt rules that says you can play in four games and still redshirt and then likely be a grad transfer elsewhere after the season.

If that's true, he's going to be one of the most sought after grad transfers this year along with QB D'Eric King from Houston who is sitting out the rest of this year as well.

This is a rule the NCAA is going to have to modify or get rid of in the near future because of its effect on teams midseason.

@jayballer73 Real simple, Herbert sits the rest of this year, transfers to a higher profile program, boosts his NFL draft profile. He is looking out for his own best interests to reach the NFL.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm 50-50 on him doing that. I get it because I think he'd be a solid RB at the next level, he'd fit well in New England or Green Bay IMO. But at the same time he wasnt a prized recruit and I'd like to think Tony Hull among other coached him up a bit.

@kjayhawks It doesn't matter what his star ranking was 4 years ago. Herbert sitting out the rest of the year to preserve his eligibility is only makes sense if he plans to grad transfer somewhere he could be a featured back.

@Texas-Hawk-10 he's getting plenty of carries. Most schools use 2 or 3 backs, one guy getting it 30 times is a thing of the past.

@kjayhawks Herbert had 43 carries in 4 games including 17 in week 1 without Pooka to share the load with. He was looking at averaging 6-7 carries per game the rest of the way this year.

I never said anything about Herbert being a 30 carry per game back, but he's also wasn't going to get very many carries the rest of the way at KU either. He's going to go somewhere that he'll get 15-20 touches per game as the number 1 back for some program that's much better than KU and significantly increase his NFL profile because of that.

He was leading in yds too. I don't blame him. I've changed my mind.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm not sure he's a number 1 back for these better teams at the same time. He aint starting at Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU or Texas. Like I said I'm 50-50 on it, I can see it but its tough to swallow with a guy that seemed so happy and love the place Wednesday on hawk talk.

Ben Heeney called him out on Twitter and I agree with him. Call it whatever you want he quit on his team as Ben said.

@kjayhawks He did and I don't like the new redshirt rule because it's already led to situations where good players are quitting mid season to preserve eligibility to play for another program the next season. QB D'Eriq King at Houston is doing the same thing. Missouri's QB that played at Clemson last year, can't think of his name right now, did the same thing last season. That's a rule I want to see get changed.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I like the rule but it shouldnt count if you are transfering. That rule now that everyone has figured this out will be abused badly and make it much harder for us or anyone to rebuild.

I wouldn't blast Herbert based on what I just heard. Can't share it but just trust me on this that there is more than what is being reported.

Jeff Long was just on 810 and he sure made it seem like this was Herbert's decision and expressed how disappointed KU is.
