It's settled... WE ARE #1!

One thing that may result in the NCAA having to at least print a bracket is the bonuses to coaches for making the tournament. The bonuses for S16, E8, and F4 are likely toast, as are the Championship bonuses.

Since the NCAA has the ability to do a selection of the 65 teams, if they refuse they are arguably depriving coaches of actual earnings, and they might face litigation from coaches who, among them, have millions at stake. (If the schools pay bonuses anyway, that would solve it.)

Interesting, that Coach said in his conference that YES KU would of picked to play in the South region/ Houston instead of the Midwest

This is 3 times now I've been screwed out of seeing KU play in Houston. Damn you VCU (2011), Villanova (2016), and COVID-19 (2020)!!!

Looks like I'll have to wait until 2023 for another shot at seeing KU play in Houston.

Next season would be interesting if KU were in the same position to decide where they'd want to play their regional at with Denver, Minneapolis, and Memphis all relatively close to KU. Denver is the furthest away, but there's a large KU alumni base in Denver. I think Denver is the third largest alumni base behind Chicago and Dallas that's outside the KC metro area and the state of Kansas.

Bestowing national title to Kansas 'would be great,' Bill Self says

Bill Self says it would be "great" if the Jayhawks -- as the projected No. 1 overall seed had the 68-team NCAA tournament field been announced -- were bestowed national champions even with the asterisk that would come with the honor.

@bskeet I would love for us to be National Champs - but not this way. Even though in my heart I believe that no one could beat us if we were healthy - you just don't know. Some schmoe you never heard of goes and hits 14 3 pointers and we have 28 turnovers (oh, we all know that can happen) - then we're watching the glitter fly for some other team.

Just say we had a great year and let's do it next season.

The mythical national champions is how they'll phrase it.

@wissox You ever see a Jayhawk? Maybe it’s fitting?!?

Some guy from NBC Sports used a simulation program to play out the NCAA Tournament using NBC's last bracket projection. The Final Four ended up being Kansas, Michigan, Baylor, and Michigan St. The national title game was Kansas over Michigan St.

"Our players aren't afraid of anyone. They have put out an offer to meet any team in any location to administer their beat down. We're #1!"

(nonsense)

The chatter between fans from all over will continue. It all gets silly because we are just left with words and no resolution on courts.

Mar 17, 2020 08:21 PM #19

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'll take it.

Mar 18, 2020 03:16 AM #20

@drgnslayr #1 in the final poll has always been champs during my lifetime. I guess that’s as close as we’ll get this year.

Mar 18, 2020 03:39 AM #21

It’s nice to see the awards!

Mar 18, 2020 03:43 AM #22

I would prefer to win it the traditional way, but all we have is the speculation and simulations.. Nice to see us on top in most of the conversations.

These fricken idiots just PO because one the teams they kiss ass to suck up- to wouldn't have won the Championship. I mean they're world would of been rocked with envy Since it wasn't going to be Duke , N Carolina or Kentucky - -ESPN always has they're face buried up those 3 teams ass. - They couldn't stand the thought that none of these three was going to win the dam things so they could beat they're chest about oh so mighty ACC again. - - Screw these idiots
