Agree with this. If he is up for it, redshirting makes a lot of sense.
In another KU discussion I said this recently
I do think he could be a RS candidate. Only played 2 years of HS ball. Easy to forget that Graham and Mason both had a post grad year so 5 years of HS. This is the opposite situation and guards that do this tend to not be quite ready yet.

Bill has really only played Mitch as a last resort. If Jalen comes back I think we will be completely fine in the front court. I actually think the D2 kid looks better than Mitch. We should have enough bodies to not play Mitch.

I'm not going to count on JUCOs. If he does much it is a bonus IMO. His stats are good and he has some tools at least.
@BeddieKU23 Gonzaga's roster was stacked beyond belief this year. They had multiple top 100 kids and top international prospects that were bench warmers.
Arizona is about to hire Gonzaga's main bag man.

@KirkIsMyHinrich Just gonna mention the timing is interesting here. Shortly after the Bryce news, and the transfer caught the Wyoming coaches off guard.
And of course as mentioned, Adidas kid which is not to be undersold here as Yesufu and Bobby are Adidas all the way as well.
@BigBad Well Bill knows the dad and all the talk was about how Bryce is a hard worker. The reality is however that you do not know how kids are going to respond until they get to college. Times have also changed. Russ Rob and Brannen Greene both had a dad that wouldn't let them transfer if memory serves.

I hear you. But to be fair, playing Garrett isn't the reason we didn't have scoring. There wasn't another option on the roster. This year's team was missing a lot of pieces. Its just hard to keep up when you see the rest of the team getting knocked for their (lack of) defense - i.e. Wilson, but are also presumably happy to see a defensive player of the year caliber starter move on.
I like to call last year's roster "oops all wings".

Garrett was absolutely miscast this year. If we are losing Ochai I would love to have Garrett back playing on the wing over the transfer options. I also know he is a trap for Bill so it's kind of a double edged sword.
Hard to not just say "goodbye then" after seeing this.
Not sure exactly how credible this guy is, but lines up with what I was told. Very serious mutual interest.

We will be in a position where likely the only wing remaining on the roster will be CB. I can't see Jalen staying beyond HOPEFULLY next year.
@BeddieKU23 If Ochai goes my dream adds would be Bishop and 2 guards. I'd rather have Ochai back and add Bishop and one guard or possibly two guards either would work.
@Oldmanhawk He can certainly score. My questions are all about his defense. Will be interesting to see.
