@drgnslayr Dave is horrible at setting screens though, maybe the worst 5 we've ever had at it under Self.
You are way off on this imo, there is a reason he isn't getting off the bench in real game action.
I don't think he is a transfer risk if he doesn't play this year. Maybe if he doesn't play at all next year as well. In that case it's not really a huge deal anyway.
@FarmerJayhawk Clear evidence tbh
@Kcmatt7 He is going to SHATTER the program steal record if he plays 5 years.
@BeddieKU23 Enaruna looked okay in the first two games when he played. Bill REALLY wanted to beat UK and Tristan couldn't survive his first mistake. I think it's very clear that Ochai and Braun are very improved players.
Best DRTG on the team btw.
@BeddieKU23 This is why we know he CAN be better. The pressure right now to be the guy is too much, he just needs to play within himself and his abilities.
Those numbers match the eye test pretty well.
Good gawd Dave.
Dave's worst stat is his ABSURD usage.
Wasn't gonna make it this early, but some news, Marcus good to go: 🐦 View Tweet
We good.
Gethro being behind Mitch, who Self doesn't even want to play in tight spots, kinda says it all.
The good news is, once he gets stronger he is an interesting option. I think year three in the program is when we see him getting some actual tick.
@Marco ESPN+
@approxinfinity Like Wissox said, Greenville is D3.
I think Wilson is a 4. Don't think he should actually play the wing. 4/5 is better for him.
@FarmerJayhawk Yeah he's really good, we also had Udoka still and Cockburn was thought to be oad right?

Iowa State and KState play each other twice. Good gawd.

Gonzaga isn't a good defensive team. I knew that before and after they beat us..
If Harris plays do we win that game? Maybe...
Texas is dumping on UNC. Is this finally Shaka's year?
@FarmerJayhawk said in Non-KU Games Thread:
Pumped for this Texas UNC game. Real test for both teams.
Baylor Illinois, Gonzaga WVU. Tonight is LIT.
@justanotherfan I think the big thing with Tyon is he needs to get healthy.
@BeddieKU23 I believe him reclassing is VERY good for KU. So hopefully it does happen.
@MR11 said in After 3 games- Discussion:
@justanotherfan sounds like we could have used silvio this year
Agree, but he's probably ending up in jail right? No choice unfortunately.
KJ with 25 in a win last night. Anyone feel free to post w/e they find here.
@drgnslayr Who is setting the screen? That's the problem right now. Self will figure out an offense and have it going after Christmas, will be interesting to see where he goes with it.
@BeddieKU23 wtf
247 article from today talking about how Isaacs is likely to reclass. :hot_beverage: :newspaper:
@BeddieKU23 said in After 3 games- Discussion:
That's a big statement to make about Gethro. I'm just hoping he sticks around to develop. His HS tape intrigued. Maybe he gets some action against the easier teams we play in the next week or so.
If he can't get in against Washburn, forget about it lol.
Without the covid situation, he would have redshirted this year 100%. From what I understand, he knows he is a bit aways from playing and is okay with it. In that interview with Curry he mentioned the staff is expecting him to play next year. Obviously you tell guys w/e, but I do think Curry and Zach have a chance to contribute immediately.
@Kcmatt7 said in In this thread we Stan Jalen Wilson:
If you told me our best lineup this year would be with him at the 5 I would have laughed you out of the building.
Stark difference. That bogus 4th foul on him almost changed the outcome against UK.
@justanotherfan said in After 3 games- Discussion:
Harris needs to be on the floor as much as possible because the other guys all flourish off the ball. I'm not saying Harris should play 35 mpg, but he should be getting 28 or so because his ability to play the point helps make the other guys better. Garrett is a good stop gap PG, but he is not enough of a creator to be a fulltime PG. Harris is, and should play that role.
This team should be playing 5 out the majority of the time. That is unfortunate because that means Big Dave probably only plays 15-18 mpg, and that leaves no real role for Lightfoot at all. Even against bigger teams, KU's advantage this year is in spreading the floor, not trying to match size for size.
Having a lineup with Wilson or Enaruna as the biggest guy, then with some combination of Garrett, Agbaji, Braun, Thompson, Harris, TGF is the best look KU can have. The rotation should look something like this:
Harris and Garrett: 25-30 mpg, with Harris on the higher end, Garrett on the lower end, and Garrett only playing about half his minutes with Harris.
Wilson, Agbaji, Braun: 22-25 mpg, with Wilson closer to the 25, Braun and Agbaji closer to 22.
Enaruna, Thompson: 18-20 mpg, with Enaruna on the lower end, Thompson on the higher end if he's hot or needs to spell Harris or Garrett if one or both is in foul trouble.
McCormack, TGF: 14-18 mpg, both probably closer to the 14 mark than the 18 most nights. TGF could move up a level if his defense improves.
Lightfoot and others: minimal
Yeah, Harris playing makes Garrett better. It's a win/win.
Seems like Tristan is in the dog house but I would say we do need to get something out of him and Tristan. UK was one of those games where Self really wanted to win and rode his best guys.
Lightfoot is really proving to be unplayable unfortunately.
@justanotherfan Dave and Mitch are painfully bad at screening. :(
Ah okay.
And yeah I'm of the opinion that it would be hard for Gethro to be worse, but Self seems to think he is unplayable. Maybe he will get some run against Washburn.
Stanley?
<3 <3 <3
@Crimsonorblue22 Kentucky's athletes were too much for Bryce. I would expect him to be better in the games coming up against softer competition. I do believe Bryce can get to a point where he will be good in games like that, it will just take time.
Bill Self said those rims were "the tighest" that he has ever seen. MSU and Duke also shot like butt.
@AsadZ said in Dajuan Ball Hawk Harris:
Harris can play the role as an assassin off the bench.
Were I a betting man, I'd live bet the hell out of KU games if this continues to be the case.
I didn't realized just how big of a joke the technicals were...
Also saw that last Mintz "three" again. It was probably a two and he traveled lol. Twitter if great for anything is great for having clips of big plays up.
Marcus is so good, he did this while sick to boot.
This is nuts. Small sample size but still...
ETA: This only includes the first two games. Can't imagine it changed a ton tonight but hopefully the guy that does this (Chris Stone) posts and update. Cool info.
@tundrahok Yeah, definitely over Dave and I agree it will take a long time if it even happens.
Preparing a hand written letter of thanks for John Belein.
Needs to start. Garrett is better off the ball as well, just all around better for the team. He's elite defensively in addition to helping the offense click with his passing.
@Crimsonorblue22 To be fair, probably do lose if Marcus couldn't go. :p
