POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKA

@BShark That would be crazy....imagine a 3-9 season...wow, that would be worth a parade considering the last two years.
So I mean...I wouldn't argue for it but with a 3-0 start bowl eligibility would be in play if they won all their winnable games.
So if Pooka could have played week one and this team was 3-0 wow imagine the outlook...

KU will win this game going away but letβs not kid ourselves, Rutgers is a really bad team so I am not sure we can read much from this win...at least not yet.
Agree. Too early to tell. KU could be able to compete with Texas, Baylor and KSU from what I've seen but I wouldn't pick KU to win any of those games.
Syracuse is beating FSU 20-0!!!
MOOD
@Texas-Hawk-10 I was very impressed with Harris's INT. That is a DUDE. KU has about 6 or so DUDES. One of them we have to hope it okay though (D. Wise).
Good lord Rutgers.
Nebraska is fighting back against Troy but they aren't going anywhere with this walk-on QB.
Tennessee is confirming how bad they are again this week. Only up 17-0 on UTEP (maybe the worst FBS team, seriously). They are going to get murdered every week in the SEC.

Maryland getting throttled by Temple right now... But they beat UT. Really makes me wonder how bad UT might be this season.
TERRIBLE.
Also good, MD can suck eggs.

@BShark What about the Colorado game KU made the huge comeback against under Gill?
I was thinking first half only but I see it says "one half" now.
In the game you are talking about KU actually scored 35 points in the 4th quarter.
JayHawkFanToo said:
When is the last time KU scored 31 points in one half?
Reesing was the QB.
LOL RUTGERS
@Texas-Hawk-10 Yep. That TD happened because Rutgers is terrified of Pooka. Pooka warps the field.

This game is just absurd.
It's unhinged.

Lol watch this go into halftime 21-24
ALTERNATIVELY TOUCHDOWN KU

This game isn't over.
Which is insane.
@Kcmatt7 Yeah he really turned them around.
Nebraska down 17-0 to Troy...
Losing yards on a completed pass...
Kcmatt7 said:
I never understand why teams take timeouts to avoid a 5 yard penalty on a punt
The same reason some NFL coaches don't take their timeouts defensively on the front side of the two minute warning.

I hope not!
Hot take: this Rutgers QB isn't very good.
ANOTHER PICK. MIKE LEE TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!
@wissox I'm getting the same result! Frustrating. Have to pirate it.

Kendrick should play. Bender doesn't throw it well enough to justify him starting. Kendrick gives this offense another dimension.
Trying to upvote this more than once.
stoptheflop said:
@Texas-Hawk-10 Nice to have the TO's, but the offense isn't capitalizing on them. We should have 31 points.
We should certainly 100% have 6 more points right now, lol.
wissox said:
No, I live in big 10 country and they're showing penn st./Haskell indian college or something like that.
I think it's completely regional I'm afraid.
This friggin Pooka guy. So good even though he didn't score on that last run. I stand by what I said about him being a high level SEC level RB if he wasn't such a high academic risk.
LOL SPECIAL TEAMS.
Damn, going backwards.
TD TROY. YESSS
@Kcmatt7 Yeah, it was very nasty. Player should have been suspended for it.
stoptheflop said:
Except for the blocked punt, KU is outplaying Rutgers on offense and defense, esp. defense
Yeah, KU looks like the better team. I am eating my words about this team being winless big time.
Kcmatt7 said:
Poor Nebraska having to play a walk on at QB after their starter got hurt last week from a dirty Colorado player twisting his knee after being down. Was one of the dirtiest plays I've seen in awhile.
Nebraska can pound sand. That said it is a tough break for them. Also the guy that would have been their back-up transferred out. It's so hard to keep a good back-up QB these days because they will want to go somewhere to try and start.

That's how you throw a fade route
I hate the fade, but the execution there was good.

Our offensive scheme is garbage. Few motions. No Jets. No misdirection.
It's a disgrace to the spread offense.
That's the thing some people aren't getting, I feel. If it was clear the team executed crisply and just got their asses kicked physically I would feel much better about this coaching staff.
Clemson is SCORELESS with GEORGIA SOUTHERN after 1 quarter.
Hawaii Army is a fun game so far.
This game is an insult to dumpster fires. @jayballer73 is this too negative? I'd say not. ;) :p
Mitch is okay defensively, it's offense where he really struggles. It was 4 on 5 offensively when Mitch has been out there so far. Last year was an enormous improvement from his FR year so there is hope. I still think he should take a RS IF he wants to play more at some point down the line. If he just wants to have fun being on the team while getting his degree then I can see not taking the RS, it's not like he is going to play pro ball anywhere.
The reason Mitch was ineffective is because he isn't an elite or excellent player and was forced into action.
Jeremy Case shot lights out in the offseason too. Last I heard he was still getting his ass kicked in practice but it's been awhile. I'll be surprised if he plays more than scrub minutes.
Both teams suck. I still have absolutely no faith in the KU coaching staff so I'd lean towards picking Rutgers. I think it's a toss-up though.
I love Mitch! Huge fan and respect the crap out of him living his best life. Mitch isn't going to play this year much if at all though.
Reference points: He played 14 minutes a game last year, with a super thin KU front court. The thinnest one even in recent memory in fact as even the year before had Coleby, Bragg, Lucas and an injured Doke. Which isn't even factoring in Josh at the 4.
Mitch played 2 minutes against Clemson, none against Duke and 2 against Villanova.
Self now has...
Elite college bigs: Doke, Dedric, Silvio
Very good college big that is better than Mitch: David McCormack
Combo forward who I'd play at the 4 before playing Mitch: KJ
Self isn't dumb, he knew last year that playing Mitch was less than ideal and he has way more options now.

@BShark Of course, our franchise tends not to keep their franchise players.
This is a very fair point! But maybe it means they will get a good return for him when he is eventually traded. :sob:
