Now if we got both to reclass and come here then that's something to be hopeful on. However young backcourts often have a ton of growing pains here, especially developing chemistry. Seems like we really need one good guard from HS and a veteran guard from the transfer portal to mix with Harris and Bryce

Selfs comments this week have said it all. Garrett isn't a PG, the bench is very limited and he realizes that if 1-2 starters play badly on offense they are not going to win against good teams.

TCU game scheduled for next Tuesday will now be played next Thursday.

The Iowa St game that was canceled last Saturday has been rescheduled for February 11th. Both will tip at 7pm on ESPN +

It would certainly help if he can but it won't solve all the issues Self is facing in the backcourt after this year. He needs to find another guard via the transfer market or get lucky an elite level one falls into his lap. Unlikely the latter happens so maybe the transfer market will be helpful

Agree, athleticism alone I see Top 50. The defensive chops are evident in film as well. I'm wondering if he hasn't been seen enough until he moved to Blair. Super high on this kid. He gets to the next level if his shooting ability continues to improve

Would he be playing as much as he is currently if Thompson was healthy? My opinion would be that he wouldn't.

Last year Braun beat him for the wing minutes. This year Braun won the starting job and Wilson beat him out after playing 1 minute last year..

Agree about TGF at this point. Really disappointed in how he's played outside one game. I guess the step up from Juco to KU really was bigger then maybe we thought it would be. Also the lack of offseason with the team and now two injuries have really derailed his development. Unfortunately his jumper just looks really bad. 6% on the year from 3

Good one! The one time transfer rule, the free year due to covid and the fact he's been a rotation player getting spot minutes for 2 yrs now. I don't think anyone would be surprised about kids looking over their options.

By the way I agree with going more zone and shooting more 3's. The zone would help KU's worst defender (McCormack).

On offense though there's a zero chance Self goes away from feeding the post to focus on a perimeter shooting attack imo. Even after Braun & Ochai shot really well from 3 against Baylor we saw not enough action ran for either to get shots up. Is what it is..

If most of the roster returns and there's still guys like Agbaji, Braun & Wilson in front of him he should look around to see if he can get more PT somewhere. I hope he stays but kids have options now.

Better then I thought he'd be but with Juwan coaching I'm sure he's getting good coaching on how to be a big.. He's a huge human being which helps, has good feet and skill level around the basket.
