Just not playing together and have let things spiral. Mostly just need to make shots
He's only playing one side of the floor and even that one he's struggling
Wow sit Bobby are you kidding me
No reason for Bobby to play if he's not going to be a threat to score
Lol at that made layup you gotta be kidding me
Very stale movement on offense. Not a good sign

I see the refs are going to make sure Nowell & Johnson have great games since they played like warm Dog Doo Saturday
To be kind of fair, kj fouled Johnson on that drive but before the shot so they gave him the bucket instead. 2 on kj early would have been BAD.
Yeah that was def a foul not called.
What does someone have to do to get a foul call
Dumb foul
He posted his cheat sheet for the game earlier on Twitter so I had time to prepare
Cuffe and Zuby made half court shots earlier.
Cuffe looks like he's fine and wondering if he will practice soon
Seems like he got the message after Self talked about that in one of his pressers. Juan has only 6 fouls in the past 5 games in conference. Hopefully it's not an issue again
Extremely lucky.
Agree this bunch has been incredible so far. Right at the top so far. I've been in awe of Self and the evolution of the offense with KJ at this small ball 5.
I feel like Self is improving as a coach which is frankly scary to believe but he's just flat out outcoaching his peers. This stretch of games we have upcoming is crazy and I'm excited to see how Self wizards us through it.
We certainly need Nowell to work for anything he gets tonight. Very important match-up in this one and I'm hoping Juan has one of those games he has when the stage is bright
Looks like Self went with rest over practice coming into this K-St game. Hopefully they are ready!
The weekend game also included many festivities because of KU’s 125th-anniversary celebration. Bill Self said the tough victory over the Cyclones, along with the added celebrations throughout the weekend has led to some exhaustion.
“We haven’t even practiced yet,” Self said. “We’re exhausted. And that event all weekend, that’s a lot of standing for our guys and everything. We told them to get away from basketball [on Sunday]. So we haven't even talked about how we're going to defend this or that yet. From a preparation standpoint, it needs to be a crash course. Hopefully, we're able to pick up on some stuff, but I actually thought bodies were more important in preparation.”
Self also said that because of the wear and tear teams will endure throughout the conference season, more teams will have to show more care with off-time. Self mentioned as well that the next seven games for KU will be an arduous stretch.
“The rules say you have to take one day off a week, I'm not sure this isn’t a two-day off-a-week league,” Self said. “You played Iowa State, go to K-State, TCU, Baylor, Kentucky, Iowa State and K-State, and then Texas. That’s our next seven games, that’s comical. I think the preparation will be as much studying a large part than it will be actually on the court in many ways because this is a joke.”
It seemed like last year he was a lot better (Thamba)then he's shown this year. Or maybe it's just KU games where he decides to make FT's, jumpers and whatever else that he doesn't make regularly against other teams.

Imagine a game with Purdue?
With a week to prepare, I'd pick Self 100% of the time. With only a day or so, well I'd pray to some basketball gods.
Hasn't been a recent problem but one I fear every game none the less.
Lately I've feared KJ getting in foul trouble or teams trying to guard him differently. We've seen Jalen, Gradey & Juan guarded a certain way but not KJ.
The bar was low there. Self was already living rent free in his head well before he got to Manhattan
Sorry, you got no shot in changing generations of stupid. Good attempt though Tang
They didn't even move KJ to the 5 until just before the season started. His improvements this year are remarkable and perhaps we are seeing it in real time during games because its the first time he's settled at one position. Impressive stuff
Well deserved!

At what point last year did Remy start to contribute night in and night out?
March Madness
Bobby is as close to the 6th man as we are getting this year and even his minutes are going to be dependent on how the game is going.
Joe is the other candidate; he can score, but usually needs 10+ minutes before you see returns on O and defensively, he's not trustworthy at all.
Rice is having a nothing burger season due to injury and what not. He would have been the ideal bench contributor in a perfect world.
Zuby/Zach are filler minutes for KJ. There's no path to playing time for them outside foul trouble/injury etc.
I was quietly confident Saturday would be a breakout day with everything that was going on, 2nd game at home of the week, but Iowa St came prepared and executed and didn't allow it. Now I'm shifting that optimism to Tuesday. Perfect time to smell blood in the water given how K-St got dominated over the weekend and this is their pretend Super Bowl game. Perfect opportunity to shove them in a locker, again

I think we’ve escaped some poor performances. We’re due to get going again. JWill and Kev have been ice cold compared to earlier in the year.
If those two can get some mojo back we’re going to win 6 or 7 of these games.
DaJaun too. He doesn't seem to be at his 100% level either... could just be in-conference teams know how to guard him better, but I hope he (and Self) can figure out a way for him to get more points and get the offense flowing better.
Hell, other than KJ, nobody has really played all that great in conference games.
Dejaun is playing heavy, heavy minutes having sat only 6 minutes all of last week.
Iowa St defended him a certain way which limited his paint touches/open looks (Self even mentioned in his presser how they guarded him). Interesting strategy given what most teams do. I thought their defense was on par to Tennessee who we played awful against on dead legs.
Last year's squad ended with 4 losses.
At the same point in Time
2021-22 Record- 15-2 (4-1 conf)
2022-23 Record- 16-1 (5-0 conf)
I was surprised he returned after last season so we'll see. I think he'll move on at end of the season.
No one, not even KJ

Hopefully Nowell is done with his Linsanity run. Seems to have went back down to his more normal level.
Definitely had a bad game against TCU but worried he'll be primed for a bounce back at home. He is, after all, the only K-St starter that has experience playing KU.
Correct 26th overall, 36th ranked offense, 39th ranked defense.
Weak non-conference schedule. I think this is a 2 man team that has average level starters besides them & suspect depth.
I'm expecting a tough, tough game but ultimately expect us to win, we are the better team with the best coach out there. Hopefully they play with poise.
