@Crimsonorblue22 were there doubters in Lawrence?
@JayHawkFanToo I don't agree with the shorthand. I don't come to this site for shorthand, I'd go to LJW and read comments if that was what I wanted.
I love @HighEliteMajor analysis and thoroughness even when it re-iterates an old argument as it adds weight to the argument. I learn something more each time and can watch the game with more knowledge.
That said, I can appreciate counter arguments to round the overall analysis. Too many take a response from HEM as personal attack and belittlement. That's where we can all step back at times and take a deeper breath.
Or, find a way to bring solid reasoning and facts to rebut. What doesn't sit well is appeals to authority alone, but everyone agrees we've got a hall of fame coach. The dialogue teaches Selfs ears and he addressed. I guess we'll see what changes tonight if even briefly.
I won't however, as I'll be on a plane part of the time, but I will be logged back in and be on ESPN3 to see for myself at some point.
Rock Chalk.
@DanR I didn't get back through the second half yet. Be interesting to see now that I'm looking with a closer eye.
That's one of the things I love about this board.
@jaybate-1.0 I will defer to your greater knowledge. No sarcasm intended. And hope for said improvement, hoping that deferred development of talented bigs doesn't hurt us in the long run
@jaybate-1.0 but I'm afraid that we'd only here what HEM has been calling out...exp'd big is better at X or y aspect of the game...
But if he called out the lead extension with them playing as part of the question, just maybe we'd see magic?
@jaybate-1.0 I don't think your C5 concept is helpful. If we had a group of low talent folks, then okay. We have some studs who are stuck on the bench too much behind some experienced role players.
As is evident, Self is so fixated on inside play, that it is now appearing that he is very forgiving of young talent on the wings (Wiggins, Seldon) sometimes even when performance would warrant less pt (namely Seldon in previous years). Though not sure why Vic didn't see some time when our guards were tired or ineffective (Svi somewhat), or on the bench with fouls, except that he saw Vic as a sub for his 2-headed PG strategy, and therefore not an option in his mind??
However, our talented bigs don't seem to get the same chances. Cliff LY showed to be much more efficient even with many obvious mistakes.
Freshmen, less talented than ours, are getting PT all around D1 on good teams and not so good teams. They're developing and even putting up numbers. Self needs to quit going out after the top talent if he's going to be so dogmatic with his approach. I don't see how this can't not hurting us in recruiting. Do we start losing the mid level talent, if they see Self always stuck getting last second top talent recruited over the top of their commitments, unless of course it's big man...then they have to worry about being stuck behind 75 to unranked talent with a couple years experience.
@jaybate-1.0 we extended our lead with Dialo and Bragg in the game in the 1st half. With Lucas in, starting the 2nd, Harvard closed the gap.
@MoonwalkMafia Yeah, and we all know that last 'tight" game of the season ends up 50-60 because we think we can always pull it out, but at the end of the year, the other teams aren't slouches and they get confidence and we go home.
Play to the level of our talent and blow folks out.
@imajayhawk Lucas forces us to play slow....Not sure if you gave our talent more minutes, they wouldn't have had more RB's.
@KUinLA The question is why did Bill freeze up and revert to form?
@DCHawker Big 12 teams will push us much harder than Harvard. Lucas is not going to be the answer.
@JhawkAlum He had 5 points....
@HighEliteMajor Another HR. Unnecessarily playing down to our competition and worse, hurting our long term prospects by not getting development for our best talent. Believe Harvard played 3 freshmen. They're better than our???!!!
Give me a break.
@JayHawkFanToo Don't disagree...guess that comes down to how you value success.
@JayHawkFanToo I think when you take the performance of B12 in the tournament, definitely not up to par.
@JhawkAlum But I think the point is that Dialo needs pt to improve, and he didn't get much.
Home run HEM.
@Crimsonorblue22 Fan with a jersey on...
Who was that headed to the locker room already
And only 1... this next pair can be win or lose
There's 1
Don't understand that last offensive possession.
Harvard Freshmen playing and playing us close on the road
@JayHawkFanToo Is that Game/Set/Match?
@JayHawkFanToo But MSU should not be #1 in the Country. We should have beaten them, Valentine or no Valentine. It was what we perceived as mis-guided hard headedness in our coaching decisions that led to the outcry.
Maybe the outcry helped Self realize, probably not more than the loss itself, that he needed to get his act together?
In any case, will be interesting to see how Diala changes the whole playing time situation.
I've used ZenMate or something as a Chrome add-0n that blocks the location and gets the ESPN3 feed.
@Crimsonorblue22 Nope, ESPN in chrome with a VPM type blocker to get around the blackout.
Just joined...good thing we haven't needed FT's for this game. But otherwise, looks like RB's 6 is about par for the course. and shooting is good from 3 at around 41% but overalll at 50% is what, below average?
Agree and great post.
Is MSU game behind us figuratively speaking?
Take the win; still hate the big man rotation. Come on Self, quit torturing us.
The difference tonight ispretty much summed up in our RBmargin and 3pt shooting.

Never thought we could be in this position with Perry being a relative non factor
His 8 rebounds against the length has been much more impressive than his Offensive output against it.
@JessieNewell, please ask Self how Traylors stat line continues to justify his extensive minutes,,,
The big man rotation really pisses me off.
Not sure how that was a trip...seems Graham should have as much right to get a foot down in front of the other player.
Bring in Mick
Somehow with Bragg in there, and earlier with Bragg/Mick, just alot more activity going on.
JamTray gets first bucket of the night on the Assist from Bragg.
Jamari line:
0/2 1 RB 1 TO ....how many minutes and explain why?
So had been reading team stats backwards:
We are killing them on the boards...Go figure though, Perry, Seldon &Graham leading us...

@Bwag Them fools won the gold at the WUG...
Take that along with the fact that we had 2 points from our bigs in the 1st half, I guess we can only hope that our Coach will recognize this FACT about our team and start to scheme for maximizing it's effectiveness instead of getting nervous and trying to slam the square peg in his round hole again this year.
Thank God for fools gold so far.
@BeddieKU23 They are ranked and have been dominating just like us.
If there wasn't history of our struggles against Length with this group of players I'd buy it, but I won't now.
That said, we got the lead, and Ithink we'll both take that.!
Now that I saw the replay of the last series of 1st half, what the hell was JamTray doing coming off the screen around Mason's attempt to drive?
Who drew that up?
@BeddieKU23 But so should Vandy? It's a wash.

Tired legs too.
But hard to buy that at all since everyone has played 3 games now in 3 days.
If that's truly the case, then it's on Self and his playing time distribution. But against Chaminade he played a lot of people early. Just not sure what minutes ended up being.
9 TO's are probably our highest of the year...size has us out of sync.
All our bigs, starters/subs total of 2 points from the field.
Break out the chorus of our struggles against the L&A's.

Starting bigs are scoreless.
Which is why we are all freakin' calling for Self to pull his head out of his ass.
