@BeddieKU23 Yes - it's going to come down to FTs - they are going to have to start fouling at some point. We're only 6-11 now. Need to keep the ball in DG and Malik's hands....

Surprising given his strong start that Svi is only starter not in double figures. Need him to hit a couple of bombs down the stretch - and attack the basket with DG out...

@truehawk93 He has half their points. Do a little ball denial and trade off guys - not DG now with 3 fouls - overplaying him...
I don't know about pie, but interesting game statistically. 13 point lead despite only 4 FT attempts - all from Doke and Silvio - and only 4 made 3 pointers - just 4-13 - and second straight game with DG off from outside - just 1-7. Bottom line is that we need to make a few 3s in the 2nd half and drive and draw fouls (or just make the layups...)...

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Just a six point lead. They may be missing a few shots, but we are not really making it difficult for them to get good looks. They've had half a dozen freebies from 2 feet...
Clemson is well coached and runs some nice sets, but they don't have the players we do. We play our game and make at least 35% from 3, get decent production from Doke, and don't make too many lazy, stupid TOs, and we should win this game.
@DCHawker Like I said - the buckets they have gotten have been REALLY easy ones. Vick completely lost his guy on the last one...
Doke looks fatigued already...
Seems to be pretty good offensive flow - question is can we really pick up the defensive intensity for a couple of games....
Malik has really picked up his game - and better picking his spots...

@approxinfinity Kinda like the B12 is 2 conferences - KU and then everyone else??? ;) Again, I don't like the ACC and a don't want to defend them - just think stone throwing at other conferences would be more justified if the B12/B8 had one more than one NC in the past 30 years and someone other than KU had won one in the past 70+...
@jaybate-1.0 I'm no fan of the ACC, but I'm not sure how you are defining overrated and compared to what? Since 2000, 7 national titles and 2 runner-ups. 3 different teams from the conference have won a NC during that time; 5 different teams have made final fours.
Overrated just this year? Maybe, but as of now, the ACC has as many teams in the Sweet 16 and does the B12 and Duke is one of the two favorites to cut down the nets. If the ACC bombs in the next round (they will get at least one to the E8), then perhaps the overrated chants can begin...
@BeddieKU23 Agree on over-reaction to one game. Look at UMBC - scores 74 against the best defense in the country and then barely breaks 40 against KSU.
Clemson is a solid team, but eminently beatable. Between the ACC regular season and tourney, they went 12-8. 9 of the wins were by single digits. They were a home town hero - 15-1 at home, only 4-6 neutral or away. But, no really bad losses.
We play a solid game and we should win this...
Wholly apart from travel distances - Medcalf at ESPN reseeded the Sweet 16 and has the 'Hawks 10th out of the 16 teams. Clemson ranked 3rd. Hope that makes for some chip on the shoulder and locker room fodder...
Maybe wait until the end of the night before making pronouncements? ACC could end up with 3 teams in the Sweet 16, depending on the outcome of the Clemson - Auburn game. Indeed, either the ACC or SEC will have 3. The B12 is the only conference that could match or exceed that, but that depends on KSU and/or WVU beating double digit seeds. Bragging rights will ultimately depend on the FF and NC.
If we want to talk overrated, I might nominate the Power 5 conferences generally...
