Rock Chalk ready to go.
4 big 12 teams in the sweet 16?
MU down 22 at the half. Nope don't feel sorry for them. LOL
Wow. To be honest I feel really bad for the Fans of Virginia and the University. To be the first #1 seed to lose in the first round in the history of the game, and maybe the only one ever? OMG.

I know that Espn isn't a legit site. Yet to be honest I'm not sure what a legit site is anymore?
I kind of feel KU is going to cut down the nets that matter. I'm looking at each game as a confirmation that KU is indeed the team to beat. KU got a number 1 seed. Yet the committee did KU no favors. Penn was no 16 seed, Yet KU did their thing, while playing bad. KU only gets stronger with each game. Love that chip on the shoulder thought. Yet not sure this KU team cares? They have blinders on. One game at a time.
He's not clean. They have audio on him. Totally agree Arizona need to cut ties with him to salvage the school.
Arizona and Sean Miller are dead.
What Arizona thought they were? Is gone. Kinda of sad to see this play out. So Sad.
You know I wandered about this myself. However I've come to a different conclusion. I think KU is a nightmare matchup for both MSU and Duke.
KU plays a 4 and 1 style. Meaning if either Duke and MSU try to man up with just big boys in the paint, it might not be such a no brainer.
Not to mention if Coach did want to mix up and go with a two big offense? I mean Doka and De Sousa? Then throw in Mitch who has shown he's a better help side big. UMM Just saying.
Also lets not forget KU is playing some really good ball right now. With De Sousa, and Newman step up. KU is going to be hard to beat. I don't care who you are.
I'm inclined to think there really are only 3 true blue blood programs. KU, Kentucky, and UNC. We all know the history. KU had the inventor of the game as their first coach. KU always had the Father of Coaching. Both UK's and UNC's real basketball started with Players and students of the game that came from KU. I think it is the likes of Espn that has changed the meaning of Blue Blood. They made an elite club that can be achieved with success on the court. The only other two I can see? Maybe? Indiana and UCLA? Yet I even question them, with there lack of success in the recent game of basketball.
I guess what I'm saying if you don't come from the KU linage. YOU ISN'T A BLUE BLOOD.
As much I would want Doka to play. If he can't get to 100% or close? Then I say don't play him. First and for most his health should be the most important deciding factor. Yet remember hearing or reading that they have made a special knee brace for Doka. Not sure if that is a game changer or not.
I do like @justanotherfan view on the topic. Let him set the first round and bring him back for the round of 32. A couple more days of rest wouldn't, couldn't, and shouldn't hurt.
Coach getting some well deserved props. Also Nice to see our beloved and one of our favorite Jayhawks, Danny "I can put a team on my back and beat anybody" Manning.
So De Sousa was a High school senior not to long ago. Can he declare for the NBA Draft after this year? Ah for the love of God tell me he has to come back for another Year? Please !!!
So watching the KU game? Espn was hyping the Duke versus UNC game. Got me to thinking about old Roy.
Coach Roy has coached at two blue schools. KU and now UNC. My thoughts or question? Has there ever been another coach that has coached at two or more Blue Blood schools in their Career?
I guess to really answer the queston we must first define the Blue Blood Class. I guess in my mind Indiana, UCLA, Kentucky, Duke, UNC, and of course Kansas. Am I missing anybody? And by your standards of the blue bloods. Has any coach ever coached at two different Blue Bloods?
We KU fans are so blessed to have Coach Self as our Coach. Talk about a stand up guy. Sure the guy wants to win. 14 Conference Championships mean anything? Lets keep in mind he as done it with half a deck. Look not trying to take away from the Wizard. However lets be honest he made is run with NBA legends.
A few musings.
Um Newman can play defense. The Kid is starting to spark memories of Chalmers. I mean this kid has really stepped up his game. Would love to see him come back for another year. Here's hoping.
With Doka nursing his wound. De Sousa has really stepped in and delivered. Who seen this coming? Lets be honest he's lacking on moves to the basket. Yet kid is rebounding, blocking shots and is showing he can play. He is only making KU better.
Old Mitch is showing he can be depended on. Though from watching him play. He is a much better help defender and clean up guy. Than being the man. He kind of gets eat up when playing up one on one sometimes. Yet give this kid some room to move and he'll steal, block, or tap in your lunch.
Starting to think Vick might be the key to how far KU goes in the tourney. Looking for teams to play more zone against KU. Well Vick you have to answer the call.
I have to admit I was little concerned about KU getting a num 1 seed with Doka being hurt in all. Yet now that De Sousa has shown he can play. Shit bring it on. Now I'm thinking it's going to take alot to beat KU, especially if Doka gets to play. KU just went from no dept in the paint to at least 3 bigs that can play.
Rock Chalk.
Well I understand as you live in the best state of all. The home of the Jayhawks.
You know having lived in Iowa for awhile. It's a crazy fan base. There are clones fans and Hawkeye fans. Yet they root for both as long as they don't play each other. I'm not sure wildcats and Hawk fans carry the same love?
Lmao.
How come? Give me real reasons?
A part of me wants to believe this KU team is about to open the door of greatness. Yet looking at things from a in the now view? Not so good. Doka is hurting and isn't going to play in the Big 12 tournament. That all but assures a early exit from the tournament. No Doka = a very average KU team.
The Doka Knee injury really has me worried. No Doka spells doom in my eyes. How serious is it? Can he play in the tournament that counts? Too many questions.
Right now I need a True KU poster to tell me everything is alright. Cause I'm feeling right now that Coach and KU laid everything on the line to win the regular conference championship.
Help me?
I kind of think it's the cost of living issue. In Cali the cost of living is quite high. Yet in a mid western state like Iowa the cost of living is realistic.
It appears California is the worst state to live in, and Iowa is the best. What do you think? Lets not get into our two party system. Yet lets get into why?

Ouch that's a huge loss.
I hope you're right. Just don't see it though.
As Jayhawks fans we have witnessed what Coach has done this year. This his weakest team. Yet the beat goes on.
I'm curious as to what some of think?
-
Do you put more stock in a coach that takes a team from the bottom of the league, and takes them to the top of the league?
-
Or do put more stock in a coach that keeps his team at the top of the league year after year?
I understand in my thinking only blue blood Coaches would only win the Coach of the year. Yet I'm not trying to dismiss that Coach that truly does something special. Just thinking that Coach like Self don't get as much credit has they deserve. Not saying climbing the latter of success isn't hard. Yet staying on stop is all most impossible has everybody is gunning for you.
Example look at Shaka Smart? Dude was the cats meow at VCU. Since signing his big contract and playing with the big boys of coaching. He has been quite average at best.
Anyways what say you?
There is know doubt that this might be Coach's weakest team. What he has done bringing this team together. Especially playing their best ball this late in the season. He has to be considered for Coach of the year.
Sadly it's the coach's that take teams from worst to first are the ones that receive the hardware. Not enough respect is giving to Coach's that turn out 1st place teams year after year. Perception is that if a coach like Self wins every year, then the conference is very weak. All forgetting that a Self Jayhawk teams takes the best shot from everybody.

Good point.
Which coach of a team from across the country now ranked above KU managed greater adversity and finished better with less depth and talent?
I would think there might be one, but I canβt think of one, so...
Ready. Set. Go!
who gives a flip!!! all i'm saying is you are comparing a Ferrari to a Corolla..it doesn't matter what the discussion is...you just don't compare those 2 classes of vehicles.
Wow..this board is going straight UK. Homers going from patting selves on back constantly to giving self BJs for self gratification.
hmm..lets see..let me compare KU to the vastly inferior BIG 12 and make my blank look bigger!!!
Wow tells us how you really feel?
It would appear to me that KU has played in two back to back college game days ESPN style. I also could be wrong but hasn't KU played more college game days ESPN style than any other school?
I'm really curious to what some of you have to say? Also did you know that KU has the NCAA record and is growing for the longest winning streak of road wins against top 10 teams?: I didn't know that.
I guess the assumption well KU is only considered good because they play in the weak Big 12. You now because they win it every year. They could never do that in a real conference like the ACC. LMOA.
It appears KU is kicking arse all over the USA.
Rock Chalk.
Ok coach you have shown your brilliance in winning conference regular season titles. Now it's time to show us a NC winning streak. Yes coach it's time to take down the legend and the other UCLA streak.
I understand your lack of confidence in the Big 12 being a strong basketball conference. I understand that you put a lot of weight on tourney success. Nothing wrong with any of these perceptions.
However when you say KU couldn't or wouldn't win 14 straight in another power conference. Well we just don't know. You might say it's on likely, Yet that doesn't make it a fact or a point to peddle as a fact.
You see I'm one those that does indeed KU could dominate another power conference. Coach has one of the best regular season win/loss records in the history of the game. Now if he can just translate that to the tourney? People would say UCLA who?
Ah the lite versus the Dark.
The lite side likes to smoke their weed in Colorado. The Dark side where ever they can get it.
The lite side claims the New York Times is the gospel of news. The Dark side scours the Internet looking for the truth to set them free.
The Dark side drives big 4x4 trucks. The lite side drives battery operated cars.
The Dark side orders pizza's with everything on it. The lite side orders the veggie pizza.
The Lite side Likes their whisky mixed. The Dark side likes their whisky straight and on the rocks.
The Lite side smokes only when they drink. The Dark side will smoke when they feel the need to smoke.
The Dark side likes a causal dress. The Lite side likes suits with nice ties.
The Dark side likes Tom. The Lite side likes Jerry.
The lite side Doesn't question authority. The Dark side finds reasons to stand against authority.
The lite side likes one scoop of ice cream. The Dark side likes two scoops of ice cream.
Dark side? Lite side? Who fcing Cares. Aren't we all Jayhawk fans?

We win on Saturday, it doesn't matter.
I second that thought.
What's worse buying strippers for your players or buying grades for all your players. Um (UNC)?
Was it not me that said the Mitch was going to be the man? Um please someone pat me on the back? Just kidding. However someone stated Doka will enter the draft after this year. I'm not so sure. My thinking though warped as it is. Doka is one of those talents that another year in college could indeed sky rocket him into a lottery pick. I think if Doka was to go after this year He might be a late 1st rounder at best. Yet another year under Coach will skyrocket him to the top of the college basketball world. Remember this kid is still learning the game of basketball.
I always marvel when I see how much a sports athlete can command to play a game. Old Hosmer is going to get $20 million a year for the first 5 years, with an option to opt out after five years. That is just crazy money. I think this is why I've become more of a causal baseball fan. Don't get me wrong I don't begrudge a player for taking the money. Hell I know I would.. It just seems to me the current business model that MLB uses is really keeping America's past time from reaching it's full potential. The money markets and teams really do have a decided advantage. Kansas City is a baseball town. No reason why they shouldn't be able to field a competitive team year to year. Royals fans shouldin'g have to endure growing up young stars to the MLB only to watch them be snatched up from the Yankees of the world.
Oh how I miss the days of my youth when mister K was at the helm of our beloved Royals, and the KC star used to have an evening edition of the Newspaper (sports section)(lol). Oh good times
Should we blame the refs? Isn't this what Huggins loves to do? To have his team foul so much that he guilts the refs into calling fouls on the other team to average things about. I don't know? Maybe the refs got this one right? Maybe the refs sent a message to Huggins? If you kids foul we are going to call fouls and we are not going to feel guilty about it.
I find it kind of comical that a coach that makes a living of turning a basketball game into a street fight, is complaint about fouls. Priceless.
Why not? Are we just to pretend the FBI is always on the up and up. It's not political. Just a fact.
I would love to see UK and Duke go down, because I do believe both programs are a bit shady. Yet it isn't going to happen. If UNC can get a way with basically buying grades for their student athletes, then Duke and UK aren't going down for nothing. Remember how many times the NCAA got big balls making sure some players certain players got the proper grades to play CB? Yet when it came to UNC creating a climate of free grades nothing? LOL. I know this this the FBI probe. It's out of the NCAA's hands. Um last time I checked the FBI seems to be a bit biased. LOL I wonder who rights the check to make this all go away? Somehow KU will be punished for buying a plane ticket so one of their student athletes could go see a dying family member.
Something stuck out to me today that I hadn't noticed before.
-
KU can't play defense when it counts. They spent the better part of the year just out scoring opponents.
-
It seems that opposing teams are having their best three point shooting nights against KU, especially in the second half.
-
Graham can't do it all by himself. As good as he his he's not that good. Svi looked to be the Robin to Batman Grahan. However he has completely fallen of the map. Weird.
-
This two Big man rotation of Mitch seems to have derailed. Let's face it with this current crop of big men, KU has only 8 fouls to give in the paint. Very hard to play that way. If the refs have a tight whistle KU bigs are in big trouble.
\ - Sadly the worst and this just dawned on me. Yet It appears to me there is a lack of chemistry on the court with this current KU team. What was a undeniable strength of this team (Guard play). Has become a ver big weakness.
Anyways my frustrations are out. Believe Coach can this KU team can right the ship.
It amazes me how poorly KU plays at home. Yet when they play on the road they seem to find another gear, and push through any adversity.
KU just looked tired to me . I mean really tired. I'm afraid to say and think , but maybe it's time to forget the conference championship run and see if Coach can start saving some legs for the Tourney. Graham just looks exhausted . I know it's a taboo point to make. Yet I'm afraid this team is running out of gas big time.
Tired legs equals more missed shots, and the defense begins to break down. The biggest hope I have now is that Desousa is fast tracked into some meaningful minutes. Doka can sure use some help. Kid is getting double and tripled teamed.
The pressure is building, and Coach better find a release value or this season maybe on the side of the road without any gas.
See that just it. In order for Alex to win a superpower he has to have a great team around him.
I personally think this trade is good for Alex too. Players have to strike while the iron is hot. The Chiefs did him a big favor. Not only does he escape the Mahomes on his back, but he is going to sign a big time contractor to finish out his career.
Think about this for a second. If the Chiefs kept for next year? The first sigh of trouble and the fan base is going to be screaming for Mahomes. He doen't have to worry about that now. He'll be the man in Washington. Nobody looking over his back.
I too enjoyed Alex
Very few Hiesman winners ever make it great in the NFL They were great in college yet there game didn't transfer to the NFL. It's no different in the Basketball game. Very few great College basketball players become great in the NBA.
Look I get your love for Alex. I have a good friend that is as 49ers fan and became a Chiefs fan just to watch Alex play. Yet even he believed it was time for Alex to move on.
Mahomes could be either a bust or a success? Yet in his one game that he started and played. It was against one of the best defense's in the NFL. He did such a great job that Reid took him out of the game and then put him back in when the Broncos made a run. Mahomes calmly derived the Chiefs down the field and secured the win.
That doesn't mean we Chiefs fans aren't going to endure some growing pains. Yet Mahomes has a rocket arm and a humble spirit. I think you'll be surprised how good this kid is going to play.
A another year on the bench isn't going to matter to this kid. In fact keeping him on the bench another year only delays the growing process.
The Chiefs didn't not disrespect Alex. The writing was on the wall. It was a great trade. The Chiefs got a 3rd round pick plus a cornerback that many are saying he would have been a first round pick if he didn't get injured, and is the second best corner back in the NFL.
Reality is Alex was never going to be a Tom Brady, or Aaron Rodgers. He just wasn't. Yet Mahomes just might?
I'm sorry we are going to have to disagree. KU didn't when this game because Kstate missed a few open shots. KU won this game because they have the balls and back bone to go into a hostile environment and win.
They do it every year. It's why they have so many conference championships in a row.
Hey if you want to blame the KU win on Kstate on missing open shots. Knock yourself out.
Not me. I watched a KU team refused to lose.
A classic. LOL
I don't know? I thought it was pretty good. Sure Kstate missed some shots. Yet that would assume that every time they are open they would make that shot. Again not sure why we KU fans think that way.
The important thing is KU defense kept Kstate from going on some crazy run. Which it could have easily done with the Home crowd looking for anything to explode.
It's not uncommon for a team to shoot lights out in one half and come back to average in another.
Could it be that Kstate shot so bad because KU defense was pretty good?
It always amazes me that when KU plays a team and they don't get their normal average, it's like some kind of anomaly. I don't know maybe give some credit to KU's defense? I mean how is KU supposed to win any game if they don't change or alter an opposing team's bread and butter?
It's no fault of your own. We KU fans are always looking bigger picture. Like how will our recent play stake up against this team or that team.
Yet the Tourney is really unpredictable. The best team hardly ever wins. How many sure fire great KU teams have left the tourney disappointed?
I'm not predicting anything with this KU team. Yet I'm calling them Devil dogs because they just seem to be getting better as each game goes by, and that they refuse to concede defeat.
My God man these KU players are starting to dive for loose balls. When was the last time you've seen that?
You know we have to as KU fans stop saying when KU wins, "If it was a better team". We really have to stop this thinking. Kstate isn't a push over. Are they great? I would say no. Yet their house was rocking, and they tried everything to make a game of it. They just ran into some devil dogs wearing KU uni's.
No I can't. Yet I can say I never was sick for the whole a winter before taking that flu shot. You speak of science? Ok Has the Flu virus really changed? Or is that People's immune system can't handle the same old virus? The same people that run and get the flu shot?
Just call me old fashion and a Jesus Freak. Kind of believe the Creator made the man and woman to fight off such virus. Not against Doctors or cures. As I also believe God created doctors and scientists.
However I'm not condoning telling people to not take the shot. Just saying not me. After not taking the shot I haven't been sick in years. Yet when I do I go old school. Some chicken broth mixed with Hot stuff and plenty of blankets. Works every time.
Like I said I'm not telling you to not to take the shot. Just don't me I need to take the shot. Fair enough?
