I disagree. I was quite fine before the shot. After the shot not so much.
What can one say? This years KU team are Devil dogs. It's a term to call marines in the second WW. It Dosen't matter on style points. This team just finds a way to win. They'll go into the most hostile environment. Out numbered, battered, and bruised. Yet they refuse to concede defeat. Their general is a mad man. He pushes his soldiers to the brink of madness. Yet when you think they will break they rise to the challenge.
I don't care what your ranking is. I don't what style of play you play. I don't care how many great players you have. When you play KU you better strap it on, and be prepared for war. Because this years KU team are devil dogs.
This years team might be Coaches Mona Lisa/master piece.
I once got the flu shot. I was sick all winter long. Never again.
Speaking of LeBron? I don't care how much you donate to one cause or another. It doesn't give you the right to act like an a hole.
Now I'm not going to lay all the blame of Lebron's attitude at his feet. Let's not for get this poor kid when he was a kid was being labeled the best of all time. Those kinds of expectations can be very overwhelming to anybody.
I think the big issue that most fans need to understand about Lebron. His that he really doesn't have great leadership skills. He is just the best at what he does. When he was playing for the Heat Wade was the boss/leader. Lebron had no problems with it. Lebron is just not a leader.
I'm betting right now as his time with the Cavs is coming to a close. He wishes he could somehow play under Curry and the Warriors. Lebron maybe indeed the best ever? Yet he plays better, and has better success when he has a leader.
I find it a blessing to watch you play. To watch you grow and become the man and basketball player is what being a Jayhawk is all about. I know your feeling a little down right now, yet brighter days are coming. They always do.

The Thin Man Series is just classic, and can never go wrong with a Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin flick.
If Doka can develop a decent shot he's a lottery pick.
The Trea Young saga might get worse. Rumor going around that an article is coming out here in the next week about Self asking Trea and his family, "If they don't pick KU to please pick OU".
Well I'm holding out for hope. Yet you have to admit Coach is starting with scratch. I'm afraid Doka's shooting woes have officially become a serious problem.
I was so hoping he could sneak by and even get lucky enough to shoot say 50%. This is no longer the issue. Doka has now become useless in close games coming down to the wire. Sadly he has become a liability late in games. They're already calling it the Pok a Dok.
I'm not sure you can fix Doka's shooting mechanics. Remember this kid didn't start playing organized basketball until later in his life. He so far behind the learning curve on how to actually shoot, I'm just not sure there is enough time to catch up?
Gosh I hate to say it, but I think Coach did this on purpose. For what reasons I don't know. Yet it was painfully obvious that Doka needed to come out of the game. Not sure what kind of wild card the River Boat Gambler has up his sleeve, yet watching the closing minutes of that game seemed intential.
Greatly and sadly I believe this all but assures Doka is coming back for his Junior and maybe even his Senior year. Yet sadly last nights free throw woes may have him cost him millions and a real chance to ever play at the highest level.
Missing free throws is one thing. Yet the way he missed them, has scouts and the media abuzz that Doka can't make a jump shot either. I key tool to have for a big man playing in the NBA.
Trying to think here. I know Shaq wasn't great at freethrows or a jump shot. I do believe Barkly was a poor shooter as well. Yet is there a place in the NBA for this type of big anymore. I don't watch much NBA games, yet it appears to me that NBA teams are looking for mobile bigs that can stretch the floor.
Great for KU, yet maybe not so great for Doka?
Oh gosh the Trae has his sights on the KU game. What will the Jayhawks ever do? News flash everybody has their sights on their matchup with KU. Point I think that is lost sometimes.
KU always takes the best shots from the opposing teams. One almost always the game is nationally televised. Two KU is a storied program. Three you want to be the best you have to beat the best.
Coach and many of the players on this team have been here before. Oh God such and such superstar wants a piece of KU. Remember KD? If my memory serves me correct KU faired quite well. Also does anybody want to make the claim that Trae is better than KD?
Already the plot is being painting. Trae versus KU. Yet in the true essence of the basketball. Is every Batman needs a Robin. Jordan didn't really become legendary until he got Scottie. Lebron didn't really achieve greatness until He joined the Wade show. Pierce didn't get a ring until the big 3 was formed. The Black Mamba was never really the same after Shaquille left for drama free landscape.
If OU only has Trae then the advantage goes to KU. I'm betting Coach is already preaching "look Trae is going to do some damage. Yet how about we shut down the rest of the team?
Like I Said do you really think UNC is going to get any punishment? Come on be honest.
Ok fair enough. Name the players that Duke, UNC, and Uk that have been investgated by the NCAA. Now count the number of recruits that KU has had investigated by the NCAA.
Year after year you see the NCAA investigate a KU recruit. Yet you don't see a basis. Ok fair enough. Then maybe I should change my argument to why Coach recruits such suspect players, because UNC, Duke, and UK don't have this problem.
No you've corrected me. We should be focusing on coach. I mean Jesus every year we have a recruit under investigation from the NCAA. What the hell is Coach doing?
Come on. YOu know as well as I do UNC Isn't going to face any penalties.
Fair enough. Yet there is no reason to worry when nobody is being investigated. Can't blame anybody. Right?
You want facts? All right. Every year KU has a recruit that is subject to the long arm of the NCAA. Yet we never hear of anything about UNC, Duke, or UK. All the players they recruit are golden boys. Now keep in mind these kids are all come from the same slums. Yet somehow KU always gets the bad ones. How is that?
How is it that UNC, Duke, and UK can recruit the same kids and they are golden. Yet when KU gets a kid well the NCAA has to investigate?
Or are you going to tell me that the Kentucky Wildcats are so awesome that they can get anybody they want without doing any thing wrong?
Plus are you going to tell me all this stud classes that UK has been gettin sense Cal showed up (Uk wasn't getting those recruiting classes before) nobody is getting paid?
Ok explain how UNC got away with the basketweaving class. I haven't heard of any punishment from the NCAA?
You doubt what?
So sad that the NCAA feels that getting Pennines on a car is the end of all ends. Yet if you are able to cheat and get free grades? No big deal. The NCAA is priceless.
I hate to say it. Yet right on Preston. Do what you must. You're not going to get a fair shake from the NCAA. Well unless it's Duke, UNC, and Kentucky. You got pennies on a car, Yet how many athletes from UNC got 10 of thousands from UNC on their basket weaving classes?
No sir do what you must. I don't blame you. Just makes me sad that if you choose Duke, UNC, or UK you would playing. I so wanted you to be a Jayhawk.
This kid is going to be crazy good. He has no fear, and he has no fear. He just needs a little time in the Self oven. No to all you saying wait tell next year. No this kid is going to rock it before this year is up.
Trust me? Have I ever been wrong before? Ok maybe I have. Yet I said Mitch is a man. wrong? I said I we need Newman? Wrong?
No seriously Sousa is going to be the man before the season is over. Coach is going to make Sousa a giant.
Sometimes we KU fans can be selfish? We expect our Jayhawks to run rough shot all that enter the Phog. However we really miss and disrespect the old Field House.
You see the Phog Allen Field House is a place of history, a place of scared ground, a Mecca of Basketball. Not even the New York Garden compares. No not even the 30'000 seat coporate arenas the Kentucky Wildcats or Lousiville Cardinals play in compare.
You see the old Field House is legendary all on it's own. It's a place of history. It captures the true essence of the game of basketball.
Even the Sleazy Coach Cal has paid homage to it's greatness. Telling the media and his players you'll never experience anything like your going to experience playing in the Phog. One of UK's star studded players that show cased his skills admitted with a fervor that he had never seen anything like it, or played in such a wonderful environment. Somewhere the great Lebron (the King) is showing his envy.
Yes KU is supposed to win. Yet understand opposing players and teams want to rise to the occasion. Just like the Roman Collsiuem. They want to show their greatness on the greatest hard wood floor in the world. They want to rise to the occasion of folklore. For you see playing in the old Fieldhouse is a crowning achievement for Jayhawks and foes.
To be honest I would kind of like to see that KU TE not only block a couple of shots but pick up and throw some mountaineer players into the stands.
How many technails can one player get before being ejected?
Hoorah
Yea but if the Big 12 doesn't do well in the tournament? They will be called a weak conference.
I'm not a big fan of Izzo. Yet I have to hand it to him. He has had Coach's and KU's number.
You see this is why I don't like Weber. How many times has he made excuses? Or even threw his own kids under the bus?
Man up Weber and grow a sack. Just admit you're just a half pint at best when if comes to the Coach. Oh and try to have a little class. Your kids played their hearts out and mostly like the best game they'll play all year. They did that on the most scared court in all of America. If you weren't such a selfish douche bag. You would honor your kids instead of dishonoring them, with your excuses.
No wonder you have so many transfers and have a hard time recruiting. Your ego is bigger than reality.
You nailed it. I was once so overboard on being a KU fan that I once lit a KU cap on fire after a season ending loss. I know? What a selfish disconnected person I was.
KU basketball is legendary, yet at the end of the day it is just a game. This is why I root hard for the Mitch so hard and is more than willing to excuse some of Newman's poor play. These kids are living their dreams. They went for it. And here they are. Win or lose they are here. They are Jayhawks.
Oh yea Graham was tough as beans tonight. Hope the team picks up on what he did tonight. I'm thinking it did.
What in the hell was Coach thinking playin Mitch so much? Doesn't he know that Mitch isn't ready to play at this level yet. Doesn't he know that Mitch needs sit out a year to learn to play this game? I mean come on Playing Mitch like this. What gives Coach?
Way to play Mitch. Way to bring it.
I wish Alex the best, Yet I'm ready for some Mahomes. The kid makes throws that Alex can only dream of. Sure at this point Alex is the better QB. Yet defense's aren't scared of Alex. They may not be scared of Mahomes either because of his age but you can bet you're arse they are weary of him.
I truly believe Alex affects Hunt in a negative way. Opposing defense's are't scared of Alex so they stack the box to take Hunt out of the game. Just having big arm Mahomes in the pocket makes defense's play more honest. See you around Alex hope the best for ya.
I don't know? I kind of think there is some conspiracy going on. How is that UK gets all this top talent from the same pool that KU recruits and yet nothing is ever heard or no wrong doing ever exists? It seems a little odd that almost every top talent KU gets comes with baggage. Yet other blue bloods never have these problems? Seems a little odd to me.
It's not so much blame but more like laying at his feet. Many of good to great players put up nice scoring numbers Yet not really help the team. Take for instance if a said player hits a three point shot then goes down on the defense side of the court and gives up a three? Then what did you really gain? Scoring numbers can be very misleading. Take Doka for instance he has this gaudy number of dunks. His Scoring numbers and number dunks would say feed Doka in the paint. Yet in reality He does need more work on finishing plays at the rim.
There is no doubt that Graham can feel up the basket. Yet this teams needs more than that They need what FM brought last year. A toughness not to wilt when things aren't going right. They need that leadership that says calm down boys, We got this.
Hey I'm just grasping like everybody else. However, I just can't remember seeing a KU looking so helpless like this one.
No you're right. It was just to late when he started to get into the paint. The game was pretty much decided when he decided to go paint warrior. I still have hope for Graham. Love the kid.
I'm going to rile a few feathers here? Yet I place the blame at Graham's feet. Don't get me wrong there is enough blame to go around. Poor Defense, Poor rebounding, Lack of depth in the paint, and yes some poor Coaching.
Yet I get this feeling if BIFM were playing last night. KU doesn't lose. I can see it right now. OK boys you want to extend the defense to stop our shooters then it's going to be a war in the paint. Mister Mason would've strapped it on and went to the paint with a fury. Time and time again he would've gone into the paint. This would have affected the team play and mind sight. The other KU players too would have started going into the paint as they would be feeding of their leader.
This leader of toughness is what is truly lacking. KU hasn't always had that big time scorer to carry the team, but they've always had that kid would get damn mean and turn the paint into a war zone.
Help maybe on the way. From what I Hear Desousa is a junk yard dog.
No inside game means long season. Glad to see the NCAA taking their Time. Maybe they'll get in gear around March?
Last game he went after his missed shots. He knew He missed his shots. This kid is the only kid we have that can get to rim when ever he wants. He just has to learn to finish. And that is a fact.
Damn Graham you just don't finish at the rim like Mason. Maybe you need to sit on the bench? Maybe you need to red shirt?
Jesus? First Mitch now Newman. Is there any KU player worthy of playing this years team?
Newman's problem? He was taught from a very young age that he was the man. Sure fire NBA player. He's finding out there is no sure fire thing. Work and more work is what is needed.
He'll be alright.
So how does that go? Hey Mitch love that you're a Jayhawk. Yet we really don't want you to play unless it's in mop up games. You know when the game is over. It doesn't matter that you're the only big that can spell Doka when he is tired or in foul trouble. It doesn't matter that you haven't lost any games for us and do a fine job of eating up minutes. We just feel it would be better to have a OAD big that will never really be a Jayhawk like you. We will only really appreciate you when your a senior even though we have rooted that you would be replaced your entire career at Kansas. Wel will complain about you playing wishing we had a OAD Big to take your spot, then we will complain about that OAD big leaving that took your spot.
Sorry Mitch. Just know some us KU fans love you to death.
I would think that everything that is being posted is speculation.
Breaks my heart to see KU fans believing that KU can't win with Mitch playing. Really sad.
Don't worry Mitch I got your back. Keep playing hard brother.
Hey I'm just a social media poster. Who happens to post about KU basketball a lot. I just don't see how you sit Mitch this year or next. Experience is priceless.
Look I get what you and others are laying down. Are there more talented bigs to be had? Yep. Yet let's say KU makes a final 4 run this year? How do you sit Mitch after such a run?
It makes no sense to me. A great warrior isn't always the the fasted. A great warrior isn't always the most gifted. A great warrior isn't always the most skilled. A great warrior is more times than not one who refuses to give up and die.
I'm not sure the Trea is the next coming. Is he good yea just not so sure on the great thing.
After watching the OU versus TCU game. I came away thinking OU is quite beatable. I will give him credit on trying to get his team involved. He was dishing some dimes/assists. However Coach Dixon made the adjustments, and for all intents and purpose shut down the assist matching Trea.
It appears to me that too many teams are so afraid of him hanging 40 that they over play on defense leaving wide open shooters.
Sure Trea got his points but cheez how many times did he shoot? Kind of looks like to me that OU relies on him too much. Hope he's in great shape, because OU is going to need him big time.
Hey I could be wrong? He just doesn't look like a player that can take over a game to me. It was just a one game sample that I seen, but it looks like to me he does his damage in the overall volume he puts forth. Maybe he's getting these gaudy numbers because OU has to rely on him so much?
Ok so we got to see Mahomes strap it up when it counted.
No td's but Kid looked comfortable out there, and man does that kid have an arm. Holy Cow does that kid have an arm. He can get that ball out so quick, that now I know why WR's screens can work.
I would've of loved to have seen what he could've done with some real offense fire power today.
Chiefs future looking real bright.
Here's hoping steady Alex can go out with a bang. He deserves it. However pretty sure Alex's stint at KC is coming to an end? Maybe a superpower victory could change that?
Will see.
Suprise? Suprise? I'm still trying to figure out why some persons think Mitch thunder should red shirt? I mean could understand if there was a plethora of super talented Bigs roaming the KU bench. Maybe next year will be different? However this year? KU needs Mitch. Big time.
Also think KU needs Preston to be true NC contenders. Love the idea of De Sousa coming in though. From everything I've read and seen. He's a junkyard dog.
