I've always had a love/hate relationship with the whole Oz thing. Earlier this year I went to the Smithsonian Museum Of American History in DC. They have a display of one of the pairs of Dorothy's ruby slippers from the movie. On the walls surrounding it are all the (well-worn) catchphrases from the film. We've all gotten our fill of hearing those lines over and over from folks who know little else about the state.

On my drive across Kansas this week for a reunion in KC, I stopped off at two places that are probably the only other pop culture things that non-Midwesterners seem to know about us: The World's Largest Ball Of Twine in Cawker City, and The Geographical Center Of The US in nearby Lebanon. (By the way, while in Lebanon I stopped of for lunch at the local market/deli, after a suggestion by one of the posters on this board. Not bad !)

His mom wants him to go to KU, or at least stay in state. I think he commits to KU by the end of the year as an athlete. KU is super deep at RB, but a guy like him is dangerous in space. If I were him, I would switch to WR for the simple fact that his chances of being a pro at his size (5-10, 165) are better at WR than they are at RB.

He wanted to commit to KU as a WR and we said no. We already took 3 and he’s never played the position. Think he needs a year at JuCo to make that happen. His mom got so mad on his visit she left him in Lawrence 😳

I like it as an upside play. He went supernova this summer so it’ll be interesting to see how he progresses this season.

I like taking as many guards as we are. Skill is the name of the game these days. But I’m not sure what’s happening at the 4 spot. Jalen is all but certain to leave after this year and there’s not an obvious successor. Maybe McCullar uses his Covid year? We go really small and play MJ there? There’s always the portal so that’s most likely IMO. Will be an interesting story to follow over the next 9 months.
