Well- Silvio looks a bit slow and sloppy- still so happy to have him eligible. 2 fouls for DG, I would like to see Svi distribute the ball. It would a great day if Svi and Newman showed off some chemistry and Sir-Dunks-A-Lot go crazy.

I really like the recent video on de Souza- good handles for big, very smooth- good body for freshman- I think he can help on boards, and score a little. That plus 5 more fouls, protection against Dok's back and he is better FT shooter than Dok for late game stuff, I would call that contribution enough for this year.
I think Graham can be 80% of him, while the rest of our team is 135% of theirs. Not worried about OK.
I know I am way too excited. But I am so ready for him to play.
Watching highlight videos. In my opinion, if he just takes Lightfoots minutes, we get better. Let Lightfoot and Suncliffe share minutes/whoever is playing hard and smart that game.
The good news is that each of those teams face the same problem + 1. They will knock each other off when they play each other and they have to play Kansas as well. Thankfully we don't have that problem. Tie is worst case methinks. I believe 5 losses is a tie for b12 champ. I can't see us losing more than that.
Frustrated watching him under the basket, no box out, seemingly unaware of the shots being taken, the ball bouncing around etc.
Valid points however on him playing out of position, I don't see the "effort" that others have often commented on- but likely he is just playing beyond his current capabilities, and therefore, not a very fair post on my part.
He can not rebound, nor does he seem to know that when others shoot the ball, he might want to consider doing it.

It feels like the Baseball Steroid scandal, everyone knew it was happening and suddenly there was a problem with it. Weird, obvious and landscape changing... for a minute... eventually the cheaters adjust faster than the laws/enforcement.

Especially with a big group, set the ground rules (agreed- I am sure Bar Louie has a policy especially that late at night), collect the CC and all is good. Every bar I worked at did that late night. I thought it was odd too, but exhibition... who knows. I thougth Moore would be better than he seems so far, probably an unfair judge- I assume he will improve quite a bit by next year.
Weird to think, 3 starters for next year are on the roster and won't play a minute this year.

his past summer on the Ukraine team. I am no stats guy, but what is the over/under when he is on the floor?
Svi- trying to figure out his game. Best Ukrainian player on a team that under-performed. Has such a skill set, but besides the random game where he hits everything- jag. I see great potential, But usually those guys are plus college players. Sometimes he is my favorite, but sometimes I think he is ... regular.
He is a big strong kid with all the upside he has ever had. In my opinion, he needs to calm down and accept a role that he can build on. Last year he played a part of the whole. This year on the court he doesn't seem connected. Body is ready. Maturity may be in question, but no more or less than other college students. Don't judge him against the most or least responsible kids/young adults. Just the regular ones.
I see great potential. My gut says, he will figure it out. Self will guide him, he will listen. This year or next basketball wise would be great for me as a fan. As a person, I hope he sticks with it until he gets it. More important than any game.
As far as basketball playing goes- in my opinion- as much as I loved watching Wigs, and love watching his pro game, I think JJack appears to me more engaged in the college game while he is after all, here playing it. He is a driving force towards victory even with other more senior players around him. He still shows up ready to be dominant. He doesn't wait for his turn.
The other stuff, When it is violent, I have a strong opinion. When I have no facts, I tend to wait and see. I know that people make mistakes, and sometimes just being in the wrong place/wrong time looks bad. When I don't know- I try not to comment. I can comment later after we all know details.
I really want to win this game. I fell asleep at WV halftime, missed the second half, so I feel like we are still on winning streak.
I really agree with Bill Self's quote from the presser. (I will paraphrase)- No one is holding back info, it isn't our job to report on a police investigation. If there was something more to it that we could report we would. Kids/Young adults make mistakes- as we all do, they are just doing it more frequently and closer to the edge than they will in a few years. Normal.
If someone does something that crosses the line- hawk or not, pay the price. Until then- I would rather talk about the game on Saturday.
