BREAKING: Texas Tech's Fardaws Aimaq is expected to transfer, source told @stadium.

Aimaq transferred this past year from Utah Valley, where he averaged 18.9 ppg 13.6 rpg per game.

Has yet to play this season while recovering from a broken foot. Hard cast was removed Monday.

Don't we need a center?

He's quite a strange dude. Bottom line is he is a mediocre coach with a bad temper. He's never made a S16, even.

Ken Pom is not to be trusted.

You certainly can't predict results from his list. I'm always baffled where he comes up with strength of schedule. He has us 44th, and has Purdue 25th. We have played Dook, Wisconsin and Tennessee. Purdue has played Dook, Gonzaga, and Marquette. So, throw out Dook since we both beat them, and you have Tenn (6th) vs. Gonzaga (15th), and we have Wisky (22nd), vs. Marquette (unranked). They've also played a 2-9 FSU team. And they're 19 spots ahead of us.

Mug shot posted. Red faced and smarmy grin, almost as if knows he'll be out soon because of 'the good ol white boys' money that is the face of UT Austin. GOOD RIDDANCE.

If you notice on the mugshot, it's like they let him fix his hair, etc. Maybe they gave him some Visine.

Another thought is Kevin has been great the last two games. Was so smart to not bother playing him against Texas Southern.

Game changer. Has had 17, 18, and 21 in 3 of his past 4 games. Can get you 8-10 boards a night, is a theft in passing lanes. Perfect player for this team. Find the corners for open 3's and cut to the basket for layups. Dude is trying to compete with Jalen for Alpha on this team and if you watch them two's chemistry together it's fun to watch

A few weeks ago, our critics/fans were calling for McCullar to be benched in favor of MJ Rice.

The football coach personified who they are. He ducks KU in a bowl game because he knows if he loses to us, they fire him. So, he sneaks into the basketball game while they're getting brutalized by 25 points, and holds up trash talkin' signs. And looks like the dorkiest white man in history. What a cringe moment for the meth heads. Not sure they realize it, though. They're still talking sh** on Twitter.

KU cruised easily, but a couple issues to worry about for later in the season.

  1. Self only trusts 7 guys on this roster, even in a blowout. Harris, Adams, McCullar, Dick, Wilson, Yesufu and Pettiford are the only guys Self is willing to give any run. We are vulnerable to injury or foul trouble because Self has set a tight seven man rotation. If we are healthy, we are fine, but if any of those 7 aren't available, that's trouble.

  2. Lack of size is getting us beat up on the glass. Mizzou had 12 offensive boards. Irrelevant in a blowout, but without any size to go to off the bench, that is a continuing concern.

Great to blow out Mizzou (always). But KU has some things to sort out to prepare for March.

Yup, No. 1 above sure is bothersome. more Rice! today would have been a great game for him to get some run, in that free flowing offense at times. his specialty i'm guessing.

Cam had his chance, but Self got scared when they trimmed the lead a bit. He didn't really get a chance to show us what he can or can't do.

Odd take after a 29 point victory. So you think Self was "scared'? Really?

@Gorilla72 @mayjay I played college basketball and it was for Emmaus Bible College! I scored 2 points taking advantage of a defensive breakdown against Clarke University. They've actually developed a program that competes in the NCCAA, the extra C being Christian, and they were in the Final Four last year. When I played we were a glorified intramural team without a gym. Rented an elementary school gym for a day or two each week.

It's a school of only about 200 people and hats off to them for scheduling Grinnell, a school of 1600 students. Grinnell is the Loyola Marymount on steroids school that never met a shot it didn't like. They're famous for scoring but not necessarily winning because their act hasn't netted them too much success nationally I don't think.

To be honest calling it an NCAA record is a bit disingenuous. They knew they could win by just shooting 3's. It was against a non-NCAA school, so just like Billy Preston didn't really play NCAA basketball because it not against a D1 school, I really think Grinnell should be embarrassed for bragging about this 'accomplishment'.

The next year I entered the portal and went to KU but Larry Brown couldn't find a spot for me on the team.

Pretty cool story. I'm sure you remember it well. 99% of the rest of the world has not done what you have.

If we give them every rebound on their offense... they will put back and score almost every possession... and no way we can match that with runouts.

All we really need to do to be effective at full-court offense is to exploit teams that even have just one slow player. If we have 5 guys that can run, we can crash the boards but just turn around and hustle it up the court. Maybe we only beat one slow guy but having that is enough to keep them from setting up decent defense.

There is "primary breaks" where we just outrun them and score at the rim first ahead of the defense... but "secondary breaks" are awesome... dealing with teams who get back but not set and we quickly hit the open guy for a trey or another easy, unguarded shot.

We kept everybody back for Tenn, and were outrebounded 45-27. Against Dook, we were outrebounded by 46-35, didn't keep everybody back, beat their butts on transition, and won the game. We didn't even try to run against the Vols.

Yes.... You see it! The potential is there... will we realize it?

I still think we need a lot harder play from all 5 spots. In order to defend the paint well it will take pressure going all the way out on the perimeter... disrupt flows and cut off passing lanes to the paint.

We didn't press so hard after the first few games. Where did our full-court offense go to? Part was our lack of rebounding.

This team has all the pieces to become one of the best defensive teams in D1, but the stats don't really support it up to now.

Another part of this story is getting our newbies educated and all our guys playing as one solid unit.

It is fun watching the process though sometimes a bit frustrating... just part of the game and what attracts me to D1!

My point is this: if we're going to lose the rebound game anyway, why keep people back? Why not run it down their throats?

Lots of practice time this month for the baby bigs to sharpen up. I just don't see him being someone Self uses unless injuries or extreme foul trouble occur. I think its best that the guys in the rotation KJ, Zuby, Ernest & Zach develop on further.

We should have alot of minutes free up against Missourah, so we'll finally see what he looks like.
