Purdue's defense is 126th on Kenpom now. I thought Iowa from last season would be the worst defense for a top 10 offense we'd see in our lifetimes.

But just one year later Matt Painter has quite possibly the biggest disparity between offense and defense in CBB history. It is really insane.

@BeddieKU23 Basically all of this is telling the same story. The O is elite, the D is pretty good.

Something positive here - this team has better metrics than the 17-18 FF team that I think plays a pretty similar run and gun style. That team did okay... I think they were slightly better offensively (everyone on the floor could score). And they had a Doke who was an okay rim protector that season. But this team has two NBA wings. Jalen is a future pro. Dave is a future pro. (Not NBA but pro somewhere). So this team definitely has enough talent to still make a run. Especially if they are playing their best ball here in February like they seem to be.

@BeddieKU23 We got 41 pretty terrible minutes from Dave & Remy the first matchup. Give me 15 minutes of Joe and a confident Dave and I think we route. I'm feeling a 20+

I think you can get away with young big guys, as long as you have enough to survive foul trouble. Pretty sure we would trade Dave for Udeh and Mitch for Zuby today if it were possible. I don't think they need a vet in the post for next season.

@BShark Ha I'm all for going back to 2 bigs if what we are rolling out there is athletic 7 footers who are going to dunk everything.

@benshawks08 I would be all for that. And it makes total sense. Just look at what Qatar has done to host the 2022 World Cup. How many people have died building those stadiums? Not to mention the illegal kickbacks that I'm sure take place.

This Winter Olympics being held where it is has made it an issue. It is being politicized like crazy and people are trying to avoid seeing any of that stupid ish.

Then you have Covid, so people aren't there in person.

There will be a great revival of the olympics, my guess is in LA in 2028. Just my guess, but by then things should be "normal" plus you'll see some American heroes made on home turf. Watching these events with basically no crowd takes the air out of it. Felt the same thing when pro and college sports were being played in empty arenas.

@BeddieKU23 What a disaster this has been lol. Will be interesting to see the impact this has on free agency this offseason.

We have to figure out how to stop athletes in the mid range.

Timmy went for 24 without taking a 3. Brooks for UK did the same.

You also have to find a secondary scorer if Och is going to get face guarded. There has to at least be a counter punch to that.

We have to find a way to stop big men with a double team that Mitch and KJ can’t guard. Williams and now Mitchell abused us.

Honestly as long as we learn from these things, this will be good in the long run.

Really not that frustrating of a loss. Almost a predictable road letdown after Saturday. Feels like we beat that UT team 8/10 times on a neutral court.
