when Garrett is running point he is constantly driving and nobody is back to stop the break when he gets stuffed and even if we do it is 5 on 4 because Garrett is on the floor.
And Harris doesn’t drive the ball head down like a dummy so when he’s in we have someone back to stop the ball.
Sure the defense needs to be better but I didn’t think that was the reason we got smacked that first half at OSU. It was because we don’t run a college level offense

And this “he only scored one bucket on Garrett” well sure but we switch everything so it doesn’t matter. The other team can force Garrett off of their best player.
Unless you have 4 studs on defense you shouldn’t be switching everything.

You can’t think Dave seems like a great human and a mediocre basketball player at the D1 level. That kind of luke warm opinion is not welcome here.

I think this may be the least talented roster under Bill Self. Honestly.
This team is limited by Bill Self and also a top 10 team only because of Bill Self and I can’t decide how I want to feel about it.
@BShark to be fair Enaruna had been better offensively than Wilson today.
But Garrett needs to get out.
At the same time if we can feed Dave and get two quick ones on Manek game could shift.
Need Dave to play well for that to work though.
Idk I just don't see it with Dave. Not sure how he would have been able to play next to Silvio who has shown no ability past 5 feet himself.
Dave is a mediocre big man. He's played poorly next to an All-American C. He's playing next to an All-Conference stretch 4 at the moment. Neither scenario he has played particularly well in despite the other post drawing attention away from him. Reality is he just isn't that good. He was always a four year guys who we knew was coming in raw and we hoped that he'd be able to develop into a Wayne Simien or T-Rob or Nick Collins type of a guy. He never did and that is okay. But, we shouldn't be hanging our season on a guy who hasn't developed much in three years like he is all of a sudden going to turn his season around these last two months.
Dave tries hard. You can see that when he plays. And he seems like a good guy. But this is Kansas Basketball and the standard is the standard.

They definitely still need another guard. But Harris playing the way he has at least gives you a bit of confidence for next season.

Jalen Wilson is just so enjoyable to watch. Almost always makes the smart play. Tries hard. Plays with a fluidity that would make a figure skater proud. I mean the guy is just dang good at basketball.
Harris. What is left to be said? The embodiment of so many previous Jayhawk PGs. Quick hands. Amazing vision. Ability to drive the ball past his man at will. His Aaron Miles-esk inability to shoot. He plays the game with almost a feel of a different era. And yet it works.
Even Dave deserves a compliment from last night. When he hit that 15 foot jumper and got fouled, I literally stood up from my couch to give him applause. Was it a good shot? No. Was it a miracle it went in with the foul? Yes. Does his jumper form look broke af? Yes. Does the ball go in though? Almost routinely. If we can get even close to the Big Dave we saw last night the rest of the way we might be able to make a run of sorts.
I really do like this team a lot. For all of their flaws, when it is all clicking it is some of the most beautiful basketball ever played under Bill Self.
How can a team be so good and yet so bad.
@BShark I’m not sure if the gravity is stronger in Lawrence or something. Dedric was averaging like 1-2 blocks a game in Memphis but didn’t look like he could get off the floor here
