I think HCBS knows he has Thorne in the bag and is looking for Ingram now. I don't know if you guys follow this but Ingram has grown 2 inches this winter and is now 6ft 9in. He is skin and bones though. He looks extremely fragile. He needs Hudy in a bad way!

This is current and former KU alumni that I follow. Like I said when I checked Ingram out 2 days ago Ingram had maybe 3 KU followers. I feel a commit coming.
and FWIW our guys aren't following ANY of the other guys HCBS is recruiting as heavily as Ingram. One of our commits Bragg has fewer current KU players following him. I would Imagine something's going down real soon.

I looked at Brandon Ingram's twitter 2 days ago and FWIW there WERE 3 KU players following him then and now I think there are 7 of our guys following him.

According to zagsblog UK is going to lose 7 to the NBA. If that happens I would imagine KU COULD completely wiff on the remaining OAD's.
@FarSideHawk Playing WV and UT will actually prepare KU more better so we wont fizzle out in the first week of the NCAA tournament.
@jaybate-1.0 IF Ingram or Brown signs with KU in Kelly's absence SOON I think an elite BIG will follow. Just my take on the current state of affairs.

Cheick reminded me of A Davis. Zimmerman said Bragg was making KU a desirable destination and was tempting him to leave home. I think they were roommates this week! Ingram was heard saying Bragg was doing the best job recruiting this week as well! Cross your fingers people!
Cheick passed the eye test last night! He is the cant miss piece that KU needs. Ingram supposedly grew 2 inches during this basketball season and looked SOOOOO skinny but played well. He needs Hudy big time!
I watched a bunch of coverage of Bragg this week and he seams a lot like Devonte Graham. Always smiling, up beat, good teammate, and probably the most popular with everyone. He hit a lot of 3's too.
I just watched the McDonalds all American game and Brandon Ingram said Bragg was doing the best at recruiting him for what that's worth. Zimmerman said the same thing. Diallo is supposed to be a KU lean and he LIT it up tonight and locked up the MVP award.

@brooksmd There are always other options. Surely you can think of someone else you would like to see coaching KU? I have always wanted Brad Stevens at KU. I like how he does business.
The BIG12 is looking to overhaul its image. Talks of Fred Hoiberg going to the Bulls, Rick Barns gone too. If Gregg Marshall and Shaka Smart end up in the BIG12 things will get very interesting! ISU will have to scramble to find someone who can take over there too. I hope for competition sake Hoiberg stays.

Most KSU fans have elected to jump on the WSU bandwagon because their team stunk it up on the hard wood.
I still think that the number of student athlete's in the Nike pond triples the number of all other brands so IF you want to fish in the big pond you have to use the best bait being Nike. If Bill Self wants to land more top talent he is going to have to sever ties with Adidas and start fishing with the big dogs. If he doesn't he needs to have 5 guys in the espn 25-100 range at senior night every year. Since he is so stubborn he needs the seniors because of his reluctance to step out side of the HI LOW box he is stuck in. I still think that if Nike is a more attractive option for the teens you should go with them and cut your losses financially for recruiting gains.

Some of the things troubling our KU basketball program:
OAD era and UK. The OAD system only works if you have enough talent on the court to streamline your playbook so that your players can perfect the basics. Coach Calapari has managed to do this and HCBS is still trying to play his entire playbook. Case in point HCBS plays Traylor more minutes than his more talented guys because Traylor knows what plays HCBS is calling from the bench.
Lack of experience is also troubling HCBS. If you are going to make it to the final four you have to have a bunch of OAD's OR upperclassmen. When HCBS (and almost every other program) made it to the final four it was a group of upperclassmen that took him there.
Over recruiting. We have seen this many many times recently with KU. Upperclassmen leaving because HCBS is recruiting over them. Which also leads to not landing guys in the 25-100 ESPN top 100 range due to warring that they will be recruited over the following year. I know that HCBS wants to land OAD's and he says he wants the best available players but if you cant duplicate what Cal is doing at UK then STOP trying.
Adidas. Go to any shoe store in America and look at the product. If you are 17-18 years old tell me you don't want a pair of new NIKE's every day. Adidas is just not on the same level. Go with NIKE and take less money to accommodate players and not your wallet. If your going the OAD rout then you MUST be a NIKE school to land MORE top tier recruits!!!
Lastly if you are not going to streamline your play book and you are as hard headed as HCBS then you have to pick a side and stick with it or you can forget about another final four any time soon. I would LOVE it if KU would get with the program and make the necessary changes and pick which direction they were going to go so us fans can enjoy making it past the first weekend of the tournament again some day!!!
This is the time of year I post more than any other time. I like to post all of the off season updates, and recruiting. I like to let the team do their thing during the season so I don't post too much mostly because it would be negative.

West Virginia's pressure is pretty darn tooten good. I think they are the only other team in UK's bracket besides KU that can DOWN UK.

@Blown HCBS has had to go out side of his comfort zone to win games. He has had to adapt to players and utilize their strengths to win games due to his drive to win. I am sure he would like to go back to his comfort zone and his bread and butter! This video drives the point home that he is not changing any time soon.
He tells them they are going to play his way (just like he is doing now). They say he is like a mean step dad lol. I sure hope he recruits some bigs so we can get back to winning by 20pts and just killing our opponents again! Get back to a defense first mentality playing hard every possession and letting the buckets fall. Then maybe I can enjoy watching the regular season again! Maybe I wont get as drunk during the games either???
