I think Hunter was frustrated from missing the dunk plus four more in a row and the slappy pokey stuff all game. Then came the flagrant undercut which was so hard he hit Hunter and slid under him. The refs had let Duke grab pull on him every time. Hunter had just swung a get off me elbow on the initial put back attempt and the Duke center lost his cool and made a dangerous undercut move out of frustration. The following fouls that were called on Duke were uncalled fouls up to that point and Duke thought it would be business as usual. They pulled the same crap on Zona

Cooper Flagg is touted as a/the generational talent. A generation is about 30 years in the real world. It's a tall task to live up to that in one season. who has been hyped like this? Zion? Greg Oden? Anthony Davis? Willie Mays Hayes?
These games are why we follow KU and our reactions state we are serious about it.
Flagg won't like KJ because Flagg likes to push off and act tough in the lane and KJ can force off balance shots and if KJ gets his hackles up and I think he just might from Flagg's antics things could get contentious which will be fun to watch. Duke is elite on defense and unless Griffen and Storr finally get with it we may get stuck in the sixties. How Mayo will show up and if he is big then we can settle into the game and our experienced guys can be effective near the end of the game. Flagg is anointed by Bilas and the rest and touches the ball a lot so Juan may be able to intercept passes to Flagg when he is being fed. Duke bullied Arizona successfully.
UConn plays an aggressive defense and foul about every time on the boards and penetration. They committed 31 fouls to Memphis' 21. I'm sure they got away with some no calls. Refs will typically call games tight to get control whatever that means and will adjust from first to second halves. A good coach will recognize and adjust. We have seen Hunter throw his attitude around and have to sit out early. The same goes for KJ and to a lesser extent Juando.
We don't know yet indeed. The Duke game will be a carryover game either way. A high and watch out for the let down game next or a spanking that we will get to see how this team reacts.
This group of Dukies has three 6'11" to 7'2" players. Nine guards of 5'8"
(1), 6'5" (1), 6'6" (6) and 6'9" (1). They are long and athletic and smothered Arizona from end to end. Very physical and our two big guards of 6'6" Griffen and 6'7" Storrs and will be pushed to fouls or greatness who knows. Griffen will stand his ground I'm confident and Storrs, who was touted to be our next lock down defender at some point, may foul out early so he should make them count and hit five 3's before he goes. Or two high flying dunks and three 3's.
Did anyone watch Zona vs Duke? Duke's defense won this one plus Bilas and the refs. They forced Zona into marginal to bad shots on every possession. Zona played their ass off but Duke was just better although Zona had enough stops they couldn't finish at the rim at all. Flagg was good but not great and got away with some things. He has confident that borders on arrogance. In the end Zona could not handle the full on pressure and could not run their offense. I didn't see any transition at all. Plus a lot of air balls on every kind of shot.
We will see how well we can handle the ball and who can go one on one and score or kick out. I dislike Duke but they have a ton of good players and if we can go Passmore deep into our bench it may be necessary.
Quality 3 pt is right. Two of Storr's were well challenged and Griffen didn't seem squared up or were rushed. It'll work out and although 6/25 is bad 9/25 is a winning difference if applicable. Have to keep shooting them or else.

I like the 78 points as a winner. MSU always seems to play on the edge of dirty and tries intimidation. So far the KU guys seem really focused on themselves and are talking to each other. Now Hunter will go in as the bad guy. He seems really aware of his team during the games and he would use any crap to his advantage.
Hunter defending the last play of the game and running to Self and an old school double five between them. Bill wanted this one. Watching the highlights for the fourth time and noticing one team played chippy and it wasn't us.
I could see the excitement from our studly bench guys and this team may have come together a bit. Spent a couple of service years in NC and very nice people especially Kinston but of the college towns the best action was acquired in Winston-Salem where lots of tobacco was grown and a uniform was an asset. Michigan State game will be it's usual war.
