I like KJ. I just think he plays too many minutes to be his best. We have the bench depth, him playing 30+ minutes is dumb at this point.

KJ is the best athlete on the floor 99% of the time he just hasn’t grown into a great BB player. Absolutely love the love man 💯 but yes him playing 20-25 minutes as hard as he can not 37 is beneficial for this team.

Doing some KJ rebounding analysis tonight.

So far, one of the plays he was up top defending his man. One was a long rebound. And then he now had a tip on O that kept the play alive where he won’t get credit for a rebound.

@DanR True. It's hard to remember 20-30 years ago. Would these games even have been televised anywhere other in state over the air channels? I doubt I would have seen this game up here in Chicago.

It’s honestly unreal this team has a roster good enough to have a guy like Storr coming off the bench.

@wissox they were all on local TV in the 90s in Lawrence. When I moved to Youngstown, Ohio in 1996 it was rough. ESPN games and a few on ABC and CBS

Mayo has such a high IQ for the game. His pump fakes and hesitations are a beauty to watch and it's always in control and has this smoothness. Plays like that are high level

It’s pretty refreshing to see all the guys on the floor, regardless of if they’re starters or not, hustling, moving, wanting the ball, making good passes. I know Oakland isn’t Duke, but this is fun to watch.

Just had a feeling about Storr I think this counts as a breakout game.

This isn't a game where we're learning anything new. This is a game to work on specific things Self wants them to work on and get the bench guys some more minutes than normal. We'll see how they look against Duke in 10 days.

Disagree he's playing too many. Play your depth, injuries happen, if you can minimize the risk of injury with some of the guys right now for the long haul you do it. Injuries and guys getting worn down from too many minutes is a real thing that has happened to Hunt, Juan and KJ. We have 10 that belong, figure it out

Not used to having guys outside of Harris that know what they are doing with the ball. Mayo being a legit playmaker and not just shooting the ball has been a real pleasant surprise. His film showed this but seeing him doing it against everyone so far has given me a lot of confidence in our playmaking ability. Harris was responsible for it all last yr and now we have at least 2 guys that are really skilled at getting guys good shots

UNC game was more telling. Bill tightens up his rotation when the competition ramps up.
