@Crimsonorblue22 oh oh. yeah looks like I have it but they tweaked user permissions a lot making it more admin set rather than driven by amount of prestige points, so maybe you dont have it no mo? If so I'll give it back to you.
@JayHawkFanToo looks like the notification plugins were out of date .I upgraded them. I could also disable them. If they continue to misbehave, can you let me know and I may just kill them?

Now that the season is over and superstition permits it, I'd like to get some fresh images for our forum categories. Maybe immortalize Frank, etc etc. Anyone want to point to some images they'd like to see used?

@brooksmd I figured out why the images had a prob btw. If you right click on one of those missing images ,you'll see that the old, old version of the board (like a version even prior to the latest we were on before the upgrade) saved the avatar images locally.. and saved a link to them, which was http://. ↗ Well, now that we have the SSL cert (again, this means that your data is encrypted, so thats a good thing), that http url won't fly. If you change it to https it works.

Wait! I got it! k. I changed settings allowing for uploading of images. The option to upload an image showed up in profile!
So yes, it looks like you need a url in settings. One thing you could do is upload the file here, then grab the url and paste it there. For instance. !0_1491950775756_devonte.jpg ↗
I dragged a pic of Devonte in, then it gave me this url in a link
Now the NodeBB guys added an SSL cert for us, which is good, it makes our data more secure. However, it appears there's a prob with the cert handling of images, so in this case, the image i dragged in doesnt show unless I change that link to http
@brooksmd You're right! Ha. No, I'm sorry man. No going back. Trust me on this one. These are minor things, we'll figure them out.
@JayHawkFanToo I see what you're seeing now with pasting an image url. I'll dig in.
Guys... You can still upload a picture. It's a little unintuitive when you don't have an image already; mouse over the grey bar at the top of your user url (ex./user/approxinfinity)
and you'll see the upload icon appear. It's the one on the left here, with the arrow on it:

As far as the avatar, i recall we had probs with this before. They may have moved where the avatars are saved. Could I humbly request you guys upload new avatars?

@JayHawkFanToo I see your image above if that's the one. The edit option is tucked under the gear. Not sure I'm a fan of that, but it's there.

I had that problem with the old version. I just ended up allowing them. I woudl have thought this woudl be fixed. Can you clear cache on the browser and see if it persists? And... if all else fails, can you allow them? :-/
@BShark interesting. Can you sign out and sign back in and see if it continues? Maybe the user model changed?
I'll start with one (i mentioned it in another thread but will remention here).
When you hit quote on a post, it now embeds a link to the post you're quoting. Also, did you know that if you highlight the section of the post you want to quote, it will put that quoted section in your post? It always did that. Between these two features, quoting is pretty great.

The nodebb guys will be upgrading us some time today! This is a big bump forward in versions. There will be down time and there is the possibility of instability.
A backup was taken last night if we have to roll back.
Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we get on a bright shiny new version of the board!
And we're back.
04/10/2017 - I will take the board down in a few minutes, and only for a few minutes, in order to create a snapshot of the board.
This snapshot will be our fallback should something come up and the board get so whacked that we have to revert.
Let's hope we don't need to, of course.
Guys, the nodebb guys should be upgrading the board sometime tomorrow. Note! There will be down time! I'd rather do down time then losing posts by flipping back and forth between instances of the server, so just be aware. If it's down don't freak out. After tomorrow we should be good.
@DoubleDD everything is as it should be. Big Blue Soulless and the Puke Blue WeEvils can sell their souls. The world can valuate differently than us.
