As i said during last game, thought we looked good with Hunt out second half and KJ and Bidunga pairing. Its when we got to double digits.

Dajuan, Shak, hot scorer, KJ and Bidunga is a really good defensive core.

Tomorrow, we get a real test in Ames.

I encourage those who oft wear black hats to remember, this is a battle and not the war. What great progress have we seen? Surely a regression against a good team in some areas on the road would be expected.

Still, with the emergence of Shak as a strong contributor, if he is healthy, and we can hit 30% of our 3s and 70% at the line, we can certainly win this one.

@Texas-Hawk-10 last game we saw a baseline lob to AJ first play of second half i think against the 2-3. Today we saw a shot clock violation, maybe on the first possession second half for Cincy. These are key indicators for me. A couple set play buckets can be the difference. And stifling d on command can be the catalyst for a devastating run that breaks our opponent like we did second half today.

@SlimShaddy54 just imagine if Storr and Rylen figure it out. I felt like there were some bright spots there for AJ today and Rylen last game. They didnt show up in the box score.

Very happy with playing 9. Our bench shot 4-17 but the variety of looks we could roll out today i think confused Cincy and has allowed us to go hard on D and the offensive glass.

Ideally Flory plays more and Hunt and KJ a little less. Flory was at 17 and the other 2 and 30+, but hey, we need buckets to win games.

I do have a problem with Hunts effort on the defensive glass, but his scoring is critical.

Shak was a beast and deserved all of the 27 min he got. He got extended run where Dajuan wasnt on the floor even.

KJ is improving on the offensive glass: 5! His jumper wasnt there today but progress in rebounding is critical.

Rylan and Storr were not great, but i am happy with the run they got. I dont think they are broken. AJ had another baseline oop and played a nice 2 man game with Hunt. Rylan was kind of a nothing burger but thats ok. There will be games where his spot up shooting is useful.

This team is highly entertaining to me and Self feels engaged and you can see incremental progress across the board. I think we have a chance to be very good by March.

The disparity in rebounding effort for hunt on offensive end compared to defensive end is significant.

This game was very watchable imo. Self juggled lineups and eventually cracked the code. He isnt shying away from combinations that he should try, like at all, this game. No fear, learn some things, walk away with a W running away with it.
