We're at best TCU's third closest game. Last week, they kicked a game winning FG as time expired down 2 to win by 1 against Baylor and they went to double OT against OSU after erasing a 14 point 4th quarter deficit.

Can someone please define the responsibilities of a PG ? - -there seems to be a difference of opinion with some here.
I always thought and or heard that a PG duties was to run the team like a QB - set the offense , distribute to others getting them shots , open looks & some Scoring , making the assists

People saying 9.0 is NOT enough - -need to score more. - If you have your others doing what they should then 9 points a game should be sufficient.

As ew know are we should know this team right now has serious limitations. As been mentioned before -we have got to get somebody else to be able to score the ball. Most of or at least a lot of the problems center around our 5. -we have just got to get something out of them - -we have to get something out of our bench. -other then last night with Joe scoring and that was out of necessity with Juan foul problems we have gotten zelch from the bench.

I would think Zach would be the logical choice. - -Seen a little flash last year, hasn't really shown yet this year , but if he is on he is a big that can stretch the floor, pull opposition away from the basket - -Ernest & Zuby better rebounders - -just no offensive skills at this point at all. - If we could get Zach off the snide other tteams would be more forced to play honestly instead of sagging off others

There's different styles of PG and Self has traditionally preferred PG's who look to score so Harris definitely breaks that mold of what we expect out of a Bill Self PG. Under Self, he's had what I would consider to be 4 PG's that don't fit the mold of a score first PG. Aaron Miles whom he inherited from Roy. Russell Robinson who came to KU with a reputation as a big time scorer, Naadir Tharpe, and now Harris amd none of those 4 were Self's first choice at PG other than Miles because he inherited him. Robinson was known as a scorer in HS and when that didn't translate to KU, Self tried making Chalmers the PG first before handing the keys to Robinson. Thorpe was something like the 7th or 8th option in his class and KU ended up with him because of a bunch of recruiting misses around the time Self was way off on recruiting and had a bunch of misses and desperate signings. Harris was pretty similar to Tharpe in that regard in that he wasn't Self's first choice and done more as a favor to Braun, but has obviously far outperformed his recruiting ranking.

As far as actual on court style, Harris has a very similar game to Aaron Miles in that neither were good shooters, neither looked to get their own shot first, and both were happier to create for others. A lot of the complaints against Harris stem from the fact we're so used to seeing our PG be either first or second in scoring because that's Self's preferred style of PG play.

I will also say that the roster composition for both title teams was very similar. A play making PG with the scoring PG as the 6th man (Robinson-Collins, Harris-Martin), a second guard that could shoot lights out (Chalmers, Braun), a wing that could do a little bit of everything (Rush, Agbaji), a 4 that could drive and clean up on glass (Arthur, Wilson), and a 5 that was serviceable, but not flashy (Jackson/Kaun, McCormack). Obviously those two teams had their own individual strengths and weaknesses (2008 was much better in defense and 2022 was much better on offense), but there were a lot of similarities with how those teams were constructed in March.

Thank you. at least you can be civil in your response. Greatly Appreciated

Wrap up the regular season tonight. - - Hoping to be competitive. Afraid Vaughn runs wils , Howard picks our secondary apart been pretty shaky all year, I thinks that's where we need the most help , the defensive side of the ball

I think a lot of how this game goes is on how KU approachs it. - -Do we play Jalen take the chance on he re-injuring and then not be available for the Bowl game ?
Do we play Bean and sit Jalen ? -- OR do we sit both Jalen & Jason - -play our freshman Vasko , give he gain experience & stil not lose his red shirt and save BOTH Jalen & Jason for the bowl?
Hoping for the best. Play competitive - -play hard -- look forward

A KU win A) ends the 13 year streak, B) knocks KSU out of the B12 title game, and C) IT'S KSU, GO BEAT THEM!!! Beating KSU doesn't happen with Vasko or Bean starting at QB.

I pretty much agree. Only question is Jalen 100 % now ?

@jayballer67 erase it nah - Zuby will rebound he’s the best of the 4

Well not sure if you know or not but that 6'7 guy your talking about KJ is KU's leading rebounder tonight - so ya lets take him out and put Zuby in. - -I know maybe Zuby gonna score more then KJ - -doubt it - sure Kj only has 4 points - but again leading rebounder this game and thats what we ARE talking about he has 7 rebounds and 4 points. -Right now it takes Zuby or Ernest 5 games to score 4 points. -& KJ much much better defensively then Ernst or Zuby is close to being. - -So really not sure what the hell your thinking is thinking we would be better with them in

All but 1 of KJ's rebounds are offensive tonight. He has only 1 rebound on defense. And this is a big problem for KU because KJ is the worst defensive rebounding big Self has ever had. KU absolutely has to get one of the other post players going because KJ's defensive rebounding is an issue that has to fixed at some point.

It wa the ENTIRE teams was an issue tonight - as bad as things were , they would of been a ot worse with 2nd and third chances if it was for KJ's rebounding

Again, KJ only had 1 defensive rebound tonight. Tennessee grabbed 15 offensive rebounds to our 17 defensive rebounds tonight. It was basically 50/50 on who got the ball after a Tennessee miss tonight and KJ did nothing to help that because he got 1 defensive rebound tonight.

Ok he got - -1, ummm what about the others? - - Wilson TWO defensive rebounds- - -Dick- -THREE defensive rebounds - -TWO other players that should be on the boards. - - When you get your ass pounded on the boards by 18 - -it's a team beatin - -not one persons. On the offensive end if not for KJ's rebounding for the chance of 2nd chances as GOD knows we needed every 2nd chance we could get - - if it was for KJ's 6 offensive w would of really been screwed even worse as Wilson had TWO offensive rebounds & Dick had ONE - -So agree ya he needs to do more on defensive boards but the way I was always taught - there are five guys on the team - -you win sa a team - - you lose as a team there is NOT just one guy that ost you a game

The point is we don't and playing starters 35 minutes a night isn't going to develop a bench either so when Wilson and/or Dick have an off night like tonight, KU is going to struggle to win games and will have to play low possession games in the 50's which helps keep other teams in games and if they play well, lead to blow outs like tonight.
