SHE IS REMARKABLE.

SO FEW LEFT WITH STAR POWER.

SHE STANDS OUT LIKE VENUS EARLY IN THE EVENING RIGHT NOW IN HOLLYWOOD.

IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN IN SOME WAYS, BUT THE CURRENT CROP OF HOLLYWOOD DIRECTORS HAVE ACUTELY UNDERSIZED VISION.

MOST HAVE HAD TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME WITH BANG BANG AND FX THAT THEY HAVE NOT HAD THE LIFE EXPERIENCES NECESSARY TO TRANSFORM OUR VISION. THE TALENTED OTHERS ARE SUFFERING THROUGH ACUTE SENSITIVITY AND THE WHOLE THREE DAY GROWTH VERSION OF WITHERED MANHOOD. DON'T WASTE HER, GUYS. SOME ONE SWING FOR THE FENCES WITH HER.

IT IS AN INHOSPITABLE TOWN RIGHT NOW FOR SUPREMELY TALENTED AND SMART BEAUTIES.

BUT SOME TIME IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS SHE IS GOING TO MAKE AN INCREDIBLY GREAT FILM THAT DEFINES OUR ERA.

IF THE DIRECTORS IN HOLLYWOOD AREN'T AFRAID TO TAKE ON WHAT SHE IS CAPABLE OF.

Thanks for sharing this with us about Roy vs. Donovan. I did not know there was this bad blood.

I wonder if Donovan, who played for Pitino at Providence from 1983-1987, and then assisted Pitino at UK from 89-94, may not have held some animosity about Roy and KU beating Pitino 150 to something in Lawrence.

The question, of course, is where did the bad blood between Donovan and Roy, and Donovan and Dean track from.

Might it track back to recruiting.

Rick Pitino and his former player and assistant Billy Donovan were rebuilding UK from the wreckage of the Eddie Sutton melt down, at about the same time Roy took over KU from Larry Brown.

They had a lot hotly contested recruiting years to butt heads on recruits.

And Dean and Roy were probably suspicious of Rick's ways, because of how Rick's assistant coaching career started with a bunch of NCAA infractions and being forced out of his job at University of Hawaii by the NCAA sanctions.

And what if you were Rick and Billy trying to rebuild UK at the time that Dean and Roy and MJ had built this Nike recruiting thing with Nike's Sonny Vaccaro and his Dapper Dan recruiting juggernaut in which Dean took west of the Mississippi and Roy took east.

Where did that leave Rick and Billy at UK?

Some how Rick and Billy were able to recruit against Nike, Sonny, Dean, and Roy and sign the best talent.

Maybe it all goes back to that time somehow?

I agree, some days the infrequent, but accruing, news of the day seems to make the hypothesis appear to fit so well that it feels a little like everything is becoming a nail what with having a hammer.

But I don't make the news...the news just keeps kind of trickling out and fitting the hypothesis.

We don't have a lot of data points yet, because, well, apparently mainstream media types just don't ask many questions about it. Odd. Heck, I would ask every coach to comment on the record about this issue, after what Coach Rick Pitino said. I would think this would be a hot news item to ask every top agent about, too. Do you have any idea why the big time sports broadcasters and reporters don't write a lot of stories about the agents and agent runners in college basketball? They seem only to write about such issues when they absolutely have to, like when Pitino lays it out on the table for them, or some recruit candidly says he wants to play for a specific shoe brand program.

I keep hoping for news that refutes the hypothesis.

Have you heard of any lately?

OMG! Traylor starting at the 5 again. Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaawwww. Help me, help me, help me, I think I am going insane!

I know it is a fantasy, but wouldn't it be cool if the Jam Tray did one of the Damn Yankees kinds of things and made a deal with the devil and became a consummate trey baller--the most evil kind of stretch 5 to Bill Self imaginable.

What a moral crisis this would create for Self!!!!!!!

The angel on his right shoulder is saying, "Bill, your personsal project Jamari, has been given the gift of being able to shoot 42% from trey for a season, so you must start him at the 5."

The devil on Bill's left shoulder, who looks exactly like the devil that Jamari made the deal with at midnight outside the campanile, says, "Bill, you dare not play Jamari for he is a stretch-5 that will shoot trey ball without any ball movement at all. You must bench him and play only players at the 5 that will never take a trey."

Self's veins bulge.

His palms his face like the figure in Edvard Munch's "The Scream."

!iu.jpeg ↗

It is an existential crisis.

Self finally resolves the crisis this way.

He lets Jamari take all ten of the teams capped number of treys each game.

Then @HighEliteMajor and @jaybate 1.0 palm their faces and....

Donovan a Possible Casualty of SHOEWARS? • Apr 29, 2015 09:44 PM

As most probably know, Nike-Florida's Billy Donovan was reported recently to be considering leaving D1 for the NBA, a move he had considered making previously after winning his second consecutive ring back in the naught decade.

Now, @globaljaybird posted that Billy Donovan may be considered for the OKC job.

This the change and its timing now might make some sense in the grand scheme of SHOEWARS.

Donovan, a Pitino disciple (note Pitino is now reputedly contracted with adidas, as is his school Uof L), has long appeared a right way guy at Nike-Florida in the SEC.

IMHO, an early faint indicator of Donvan being a right way guy was him somewhat surprisingly turning down the UK job once, which was his alma mater, given the background issues Billy Gillispie faced at UK, and then given the apparent UK state of mind that lead it to hire Coach John Calipari, as Calipari was leaving Memphis without knowing about all the ringers that played for him for a couple years and that lead to Memphis vacating a season or so in the wake of Cal's leaving.

But IMHO a more concrete indicator of right way guy status came when Donovan hired former St. John's Head Coach Norm Roberts, who was reputedly forced out of his head coaching job at St. John's by some reputed group of AAU and juco coaches in the triboroughs that had reputedly sharply curtailed his access to recruits, according to reports by a New York City newspaper.

For a refresher, Roberts was a former KU assistant of Self's at Illinois, who, after head coaching St. John's and then assisting Donovan at Florida, next rejoined Self at KU as an assistant--a role he presently admirably fulfills to our great good fortune.

While Roberts was an assistant of Donovan's at Nike-Florida, he reputedly began recruiting recent KU star Joel Embiid.

When Roberts moved from Donovan's Nike-Florida staff to Self's adidas-KU staff, adidas-Joel Embiid appeared to follow Roberts to KU.

The reason for recounting all this old news is to indicate that Coach Donovan appears to be one of the reputed right way guys of college coaching and one who stood up and hired Coach Roberts, at a time when Coach Roberts appeared perhaps something of a hot potato as a recruiter, given his reputed conflicts with certain AAU and juco coaches noted above.

At least from a fans remote vantage point, it appeared that a Nike-contracted head coach, Billy Donovan, was lending a former head coach a helping hand that had stood up to some of the reputed wrong way types and been forced out, as a result.

Further, it refreshes that Nike contracted Donovan lost a strong shot at Embiid, who chose adidas-KU over Nike-Florida, perhaps in part because Roberts left for KU. Since Embiid before image seemed on a track for being a potential big time endorser down stream in his NBA career, Nike probably did not celebrate with champagne Embiid's shift to adidas-KU, or Donovan's principles, that enabled the situation.

Consider the above as context for what has seemed to transpire recently.

Nike-UK, coached by John Calipari, who has only won one ring with several recent apparent talent stacks, has appeared to be the SEC school that gets sharply more draft choice quality players, than Nike-Florida under Donovan, despite Donovan having won two straight rings in the apparent pre-stack era.

Next, Nike-LSU, coached by a coach with no rings, and just getting started as a D1 major coach, just got stacked with reputedly the best recruiting class in the country, according to some analysts, whereas two-ring Donovan, at Nike-Florida, did not.

Put more succinctly, two guys with fewer rings and equal or lesser track records, and one with a history of not knowing about infractions occurring on his watch, are getting bigger talent stacks at Nike contracted programs in the SEC than is Donovan at Nike-contracted Florida.

It might be a little tough to stomach for a great coach like Donovan, who should be in the prime of his D1 coaching career.

It makes one wonder: might Donovan be some kind of a victim of SHOEWARS aka an apparent competition between PetroShoeCo-agent complexes?

It will be interesting to see if Donovan changes to adidas, if he moves to the NBA, especially OKC, where Self, contracted with adidas, has long been rumored as a possible prospect for OKC, because of personal relationships with OKC ownership.

It would be a shame for college basketball to lose a person of apparent right way character of Billy Donovan, but maybe Donovan has grown tired of the asymmetric distributions of draft choice grade talent.

Whatever, I wish the best for Billy Donovan, who appears to have the kind of character, and competitiveness, and coaching chops to be successful in college or the NBA. Wouldn't it be great to see him go to the NBA and win two titles and break the record of our own Larry Brown. I can't think of many non-Jayhawks that I would wish well in pursuit of breaking Larry's record of being the only coach to win an NCAA and an NBA ring. But Billy Donovan would be quite alright with me.

@Statmachine

PHOF!!!!!!

This appears the adidas equivalent of the Nike ritual with Ingram.

Substitute adidas for Nike and Brown for Ingram.

Hypothesis: there was slim chance Ingram would not wind up with a Nike program from the beginning. Everything was done for branding and "informal down-stream incentive re-equilibration (IDIR)."

Hypothesis: there is slim chance that Brown will not wind up with an adidas program. Everything, including stretching it out longer than Ingram, is being done for branding and IDIR.

Hypothesis: Programs on both sides of the PetroShoeCo divide play the charade in each case, because the snowballing hype helps brand the player, brand the shoeco, and brand the universities involved (regardless of which shoe brand they are contracted with), and energize the bases of all the schools involved.

Hypothesis: the side that loses in these designed media dramas, chases the loss with a quick signing being intentionally held in reserve that assuages the loss.

D1--its recruiting-tastic!!!!!!!!!

@drgnslayr

Finally watched the feed on Jaylen..

3ManU and adidas must make Jaylen Brown happen.

Even if it means making Self an assistant coach and making Jaylen become the first Player Coach in NCAA history.

I am a real nit picker when it comes to judging players.

This guy has weaknesses, as all players do, but he has the fewest weaknesses, and most fixable weaknesses of any of our superstar 3s that start with Brandon Rush, and proceed through Xavier Henry, Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre.

First, no gauze balls on the knees.

Second, he is the most ambidextrous coming in of any of our superstar threes, which would ramp HIGH-LOW BAD BALL up to hyperspace, because at long last we could have a superstar 3 that did not have to spend an entire game attacking from the PG's right wing. Jaylen Brown could outscore all of our superstar 3s including Wiggins just because of his ability to play both wings.

Third, he still has a boy's body. If you think he is explosive now, he is going to go off the charts sometime over the next two years, when his man body emerges.

Fourth, he is doing all that he is doing in those video clips without ever once playing at the edge of his envelope. His posse has him TOTALLY protecting the merchandize ALREADY. He has probably been coached to play 3/4 speeds since junior high. Absolutely no wear and tear in that body at all. It means Self won't be able to get him to play hard at all at KU either. It means Brown will be protecting the merchandize completely at KU. BUT...that's okay. It means he will not be wearing gauze balls on his knees by the second week of the season. We just have to play through our other guys until the NCAA tournament, and then cut Jaylen loose for the last three of the six games. If we get upset early in March, we will see as little of Jaylen's actual ability, as we saw of Andrew Wiggins actually abilities. Jaylen will be given the usual 2 meaningly stat builder games, one early and one late, where Jaylen's posse can be guarantied that the opposing coach won't put him on the floor, and the rest of the time we will see merchandize protection and about 14 ppg. Like Wiggins, we will see about 4 complete disappearance games (i.e., rest games) and these will occur at intervals, at the agreement of his posse with Self, whenever Jaylen has a little joint stiffness, or a minor sprain. or a flu bug. The offense and game strategies for the entire season will have to be designed around protecting Jaylen, and resting him on the court every 4-6 games, so that ALL of his elasticity and pop are preserved for the NBA. But the guy is a player! And at 3/4 speed protecting the merchandize he is better than anyone else we can put at the 3.

We have been down this path with Andrew Wiggins. It is worth it and it won't be so annoying this time, because we understand the OAD game now.

You sign a great OAD knowing:

a.) they don't improve;

b.) they protect the merchandize; and

c.) they only play hard in the tournament, and only then the last three games, when they are supposed to win you the tournament.

This is D1 college basketball until the NCAA grows a pair and puts a stop to OAD.

I always believe in playing by the rules until the rules change, and advocating for better rules in the interim.

Hell yeah, we need to change to OAD rule.

But until we do, Jaylen Brown, come to 3ManU where we understand how to help a player protect the merchandize all season, so that he is ready to win it a ring for us down the stretch and be fully rested and uninjured for the NBA draft.

Rock Chalk!
