BALLGAME
W-i-i-i-i-de open on the drive
We'll see how Doke does at the line coming out of the TV-TO. Wish it hadn't come now...don't want him to have too much time to think about it.
"Downhill?" "Uphill?"
Every play in AFH is downhill from Mount Oread...
Hmm...where have I heard that chant before?
Imagine what Big Monday is going to be like in AFH the day after the Super Bowl
By the way...Damien Williams is the Real MVP
huh? Anyway. congrats Chiefs !
just cleaning up out here on the here on the west coast after the party.
As I've said many times, you're never out of the game when you have a mobile QB
I've never been much for the whole fire-the-coach mentality, but when a team goes undefeated in non-conference, then wins only one game after that, there's got to be something there. Can't blame it all on a young team.
Decent chance to move up to #2 in the polls.
Gonzaga escapes with a late run against USF, after trailing most of the game.
Nice job staying out of foul trouble down the stretch. Nobody with more than 3 PFs.
@BeddieKU23 Best Garrett since Mike.
GOOD LUCK CHIEFS
Had 'em all the way. (Whew)
CLUTCH
Don't jinx the Chiefs, Dick
OH MY
KU shooting goes cold in the last quarter. K-State wins 69-61.
Jayhawk women now 1 and 7 in the Big XII after starting 12-0 in non-con.
All of a sudden, both teams have found their offense. KU trails K-State 48-45 after 3 quarters. Lotsa threes falling, and more points scored in the last quarter than in the first two combined. Hawks still having trouble going inside against KSU's bigs.
KU women trailing KSU 24-22 at halftime. Pretty ugly game to watch...both teams shooting under 35 pct from the field. Refs calling it pretty tight, maybe remembering what happened in the men's game last week.
Decent shorthanded win. Need Dave (and others) to step up against Tech.
Hope Braun keeps that upward trajectory going.
Now we can REALLY empty the bench
BAM
Looks and sounds like that last break gave the OSU fans a chance to bail. Mighty quiet now.

Braun is how you pronounce it in German.
BTW, notice how many national media guys have mispronounced De Sousa's name after the KSU fiasco?
Funny thing is, that's probably the most pub he'll ever get in his career.
@BeddieKU23 Wonder how long it'll be before the men's game moves to quarters instead of halves...
Still trying to come to terms with all that's happened in the last eight days.
Between Kobe's death, the KU-State brawl and its aftermath, and the Chiefs game, I'm dealing with serious emotional whiplash. And
I'm probably not the only one.
Listening to all the posthumous tributes, the words that keep going through my mind are "what might have been."
I wasn't a Kobe fan, but appreciated what he was trying to do in his later years, especially as a mentor to young players.
And I can't think of a big-name male athlete who was as big a supporter of the women's game. Obviously as a coach for his daughter, but I was surprised to hear about how many young female players (including several here in the Northwest, like Ionescu at U. of Oregon) who talked about the time he spent to talk with them and encourage their progress.
Likewise, all the other victims had dreams and plans that came to an end. Kobe was just the biggest name in the group.
Sad for all the families involved, not to mention the greater basketball family.
Enjoyed the first 39 1/2 minutes anyway.
Glad I was wrong about us not covering the spread. Seems not so big a deal now.
I'd been a Silvio apologist, but I'm done now.
Bill should send a message and drop him.
One fan looked like he went airborne. So much for sitting close to the action.
Hate to be Captain Obvious, but this is gonna hurt us a whole lot more than it hurts KSU.
Went all WWE on the guy
Not smart guys
There's yer 80 !
Way to hustle Big Red !!!
KSU better enjoy that B12 co-champ banner from last year.
Gonna be a while before they even sniff another one.
Clear the bench
Long twos are OK too
There's that run
Showtime !
Not a laugher yet, but I do feel the urge to giggle...
Yeah Doke !
So who is this Zion fellow they speak of? Gee, I've NEVER heard them talk about him on ESPN...
Just can't get cocky. Expect one or two runs from the Kitties.
Love the D though.
DAMN !
Wonder if that ESPN guy who just used the word "bugaboo" about this game gets the significance.
"The Bugaboo" is the name of a song that was cut from "The Wizard Of Oz."
Whew, here we go again. Still recovering from Sunday after I watched the Chiefs game at the local fan hangout here (a BBQ joint, natch).
Guess I can't bounce back like I used to. (Still in denial...)
Don't quite see KU covering tonight, but they should pull away in the second half for a comfortable enough W.
