Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch • Oct 16, 2022 10:51 PM

Crap. Rookie/inexperienced corners cost the Chiefs today.

What a weekend. Just...gutted.

Hoping for better next week.

Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch • Oct 16, 2022 10:22 PM

Except when they give us a break.

Have a nice trip !

Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch • Oct 16, 2022 09:16 PM

WOW ! Butker from 62, with plenty of room to spare. A Chiefs record !

Guess he's back.

Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch • Oct 16, 2022 07:28 PM

Already plenty of surprises in the early games. Steelers step up and beat Tampa Bay. The Jets knock off the Packers at Lambeau. Two more nails into the coffins of Brady & Rodgers' careers.

And it looks like the Giants are for real. (Oh, joy...now the New York-centric national media can jump off the Mets/Yankees bandwagon and directly onto the Jets/Giants. Let the pre-Super Bowl hype begin. Stephen A. Smith must be turning cartwheels. )

Chiefs - Bills: The Rematch • Oct 16, 2022 06:50 PM

Hope this one doesn't go to OT. After yesterday's games I don't know if I can deal with much more stomach-churning.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 06:57 PM

Well, time to switch to the ALDS playoff game. Gotta see at least one of my teams win today.

Normally I back Lance's coaching decisions. But I'm beginning to question the wisdom of bringing Brian Borland with him from Buffalo as DC. He may literally be out of his league.

Loyalty to your guys is all well and good, but this kind of stuff can't continue much longer.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 06:05 PM

Guess it doesn't really matter who our QB is, if we can't stop the other guys.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 05:54 PM

Well now, wait a minute...

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 05:31 PM

Bean just doesn't have the ability to read defenses the way Daniels does. And I don't see him getting any better at that.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 05:09 PM

Need to see more of that from the D. It's only halftime and we're less than 10 points away from hitting the Over for both teams.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 05:05 PM

GREAT STOP. Got some momentum going into halftime !

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 05:02 PM

Covered wagon...typical Okies.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:55 PM

It's Bryant, dammit.

And yet another key player goes down.

Ok, I never noticed this before, so dumb question…
Why do our uniforms only say JAYHAWK.
Where’s the S?

It's hiding out with the D

Flag just delaying the inevitable

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:33 PM

I'd say they're wearing our defense down, but we're way ahead of them in time of possession. Need to wake up.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:27 PM

Need a stop and a score

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:22 PM

Jeez, pay attention to the play clock guys !

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:12 PM

Finally a stop

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:07 PM

Looked like he misjudged the first down marker.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 04:02 PM

Don't blink

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 03:50 PM

Both teams making the network guys happy. The more they score, the more commercials they get to run.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 03:45 PM

REAL DEAL

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 03:27 PM

Nice throw by Bean into double coverage. Plus a friendly bounce.

This could be interesting.

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 03:25 PM

WOW !!!

(NOT) OK BOOMER GAME THREAD • Oct 15, 2022 03:08 PM

Love what what Coach Leipold has done for this team. I expect us to become bowl-eligible soon. But maybe not this week.

Unlike TCU, OU has had a whole week to prepare for Jason Bean. Plus, they're still stinging from the embarassment against Texas, not to mention our near-win against them last year. Without our top QB and running back, that's a lot to ask of the defense on the road. Fingers crossed though.

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 12, 2022 04:39 AM

This is unbelievable.

I turn on the TV tonight and what's showing on one of the cable channels ? An old Sixties movie called "The Fortune Cookie." For those of you unfamiliar with the plot, Jack Lemmon plays a TV cameraman who gets run over on the sidelines at a football game. He's only slightly hurt, but his sleazy brother-in-law (Walter Matthau) talks him into acting like it was a major injury and suing the team for a ton of money.

Sometimes, life does imitate art.

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 11, 2022 04:48 PM

Not about to defend what Adams did. But this morning on the Dan Patrick Show, one of Dan's crew (who's done similar audio sideline jobs) pointed out that the audio guy should have paid more attention and tried to stay out of Adams' way. I would've liked to see a little more of the video, instead of just the push itself played ad nauseam..

The shove was wrong, no doubt about it. But in fairness, Adams did apologize afterwards. (Of course, none of US have ever let our emotions get the best of us when it comes to passionately following our team.)

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 11, 2022 02:37 AM

Had 'em all the way. Good guys win !

Best comeback I've seen since...well...last Saturday's AL Wild Card game ?

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 11, 2022 02:05 AM

That's MISTER Kelce to you...

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 11, 2022 01:37 AM

AAAALLLL THE WAY BACK !!!

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 11, 2022 12:50 AM

Speaking of bad officiating...

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 10, 2022 11:19 PM

Hope Mahomes doesn't get sacked tonight, but if he does, we'll see if the refs give him the same "preferential treatment" that Tom Brady got yesterday.

Chiefs vs. The Hated Raiders • Oct 10, 2022 11:14 PM

Looking forward to a good old-fashioned Chiefs buttkicking tonight on national TV, while I recover from my 4000-plus-mile road trip.

(Is there such a thing as lack-of-motion sickness ?)

No matter what team you pull for • Oct 09, 2022 09:26 PM

Meanwhile, Dayton Moore is gone, but his impact lives on.

One of the last guys he traded, Carlos Santana, hit a 3-run homer last night to spark the Mariners comeback. After trailing 8-1, they won 10-9 in Toronto to sweep the Wild Card Series.

Revenge is sweet...after years of having hordes of annoying Blue Jay fans come down from Vancouver and get drunk and obnoxious at M's games, by the end of yesterday's game the Toronto fans were is stunned silence and were being drowned out by Mariner fans. As they say, payback's a bee-yotch.

Astros up next in the ALDS. Definitely more of a challenge, but at least Seattle gets its first home playoff game in 21 years.

JUST BEAT THE TCU LIZARDS • Oct 08, 2022 06:52 PM

Tough loss. Proud of our guys, especially after the injuries.

Only got to hear the game, but I'll check the replay later. Sounds like the refs decided to keep the flags in their pockets at the worst possible time.

JUST BEAT THE TCU LIZARDS • Oct 08, 2022 03:06 PM

Well, here we go. Good luck to the Jayhawks today.

I'm on the final leg of my cross-country road trip from Seattle to KC and back, so I'll have to follow the game on the Jayhawk Radio Network stream. (I'd find a place to watch it, but good luck finding a bar in SE Washington that's open at 9 AM.)

Tell you what though...it's a great big beautiful country out there. Driving sure beats flying if you've got the time.

GO BIG BLUE !

JUST BEAT THE TCU LIZARDS • Oct 08, 2022 12:25 PM

No Lee Corso on College GameDay? Don't know if that's a blessing or a curse. (Or is that a curse-o.?) Oh well, doctors orders.

So this means you're..."Off to see the Lizards"?

(Thought I'd make the obligatory Oz reference before the ESPN guys beat me to it...)

Matheny Out • Oct 06, 2022 03:15 AM

Mike Matheny and Cal Eldred were both let go today, according to GM JJ Picollo. Not much of a surprise.

Listened to Matheny's postgame news conference before the announcement...his voice definitely had an air of "dead man walking" about it.

Chiefs - Bucs • Oct 03, 2022 08:37 PM

Is it just me, or is there an epidemic of bad place kicking this year ? College, pros, whatever. At least that ISU kid is only a freshman and has a chance to improve. Once you get to the NFL though, better have your act together by then.

Chiefs - Bucs • Oct 03, 2022 03:51 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 that comment was all about the INT. Just about the only blemish on the night for Mahomes.

And you sure couldn't fault the defense for not hitting hard enough. Some serious bangin' tonight.

Chiefs - Bucs • Oct 03, 2022 02:48 AM

Liked this ending much better !

Chiefs - Bucs • Oct 03, 2022 02:26 AM

Well, they can't all be gems.

Chiefs - Bucs • Oct 03, 2022 12:23 AM

Oh yeah, and a spin-and-shovel pass seems to work OK too.

Guy's a frickin' magician !

Royals 2022 Recap • Oct 03, 2022 12:12 AM

I'd personally hate to see it, but I wonder what Salvy would bring in a trade.

Well, that didn't take long !

Good Grief, Just Beat Iowa State • Oct 01, 2022 10:21 PM

HO-LEE CRAP! I stepped away from my reunion just in time to catch the last few minutes. Amazing! (And more than a little bit lucky.) All hail the defense though.

5 and 0. Wow ! RCJH !!!
