@BeddieKU23 Here's to a closed Cheick deal. I love that Self and Co are taking full advantage of the post season play. It's great. I'd love to hear Newman say those two magical letters K-U. It would almost take the sting out of the early exit.
@nuleafjhawk I meet your criteria.
@Crimsonorblue22 link?
@Crimsonorblue22 I really like Green's upside as a junior over Selden's. Selden is a headcase that just doesn't seem to be getting better. So, if Selden goes, it may be a huge benefit. I think if Selden leaves, we have a better shot at Newman.
With Bragg, Diallo, and Newman, our chances increased vastly for a NC. Like Self is saying, bring back the core of Ellis, Mason, Green, Graham, and we have an even better team. Newman has swag and he has a Selby type cockiness, but with a better head and IQ on his shoulders.
@Crimsonorblue22 Who is he? He's the Gov. What does he know. They booed him at the game in Omaha. The only time KU and WSU fans agreed as one fanbase.
@ralster She obviously doesn't know Self and you're talking Wichita. Remember, Wichita has a lot of KSU influence too. Wichita is obviously heavy WSU, then KSU, and a fair KU fanbase/alumni.
I'd say the opposite and if you talk to the KU fans/alumni, they would say the same about Marshall being arrogant.
In fact, some are even wondering if VanVleet's elbow was incidental. They knew with Ellis out even for a few minutes would give them momentum. And, it worked too. KU was never the same.
Malik Newman is UK, MissStU, LSU, and KU...Somthing tells me Newman may do somewhat like Wigs and just simply pick KU. He could really bolster the backcourt. It will depend on Selden. Frankly, I wouldn't be all that disappointed if Selden jumped at this point. Sorry nothing personal against Selden. He never progressed, but digressed.
@nuleafjhawk I think Self is right. We need a big and a guard.
@Crimsonorblue22 We're in the OKC area. It went right over us and East along I40. We're all good. Moore got some damage, but nothing like 2 yrs ago.
Self's parents live in Edmond.
@Statmachine He looks good in that pic. I wonder what it is, the colors, background...hmm
@Lulufulu According to one recruiting outlet, KU has a 42% chance over ISU of landing Diallo. It appears that Maker is a UK lean. It would make my day if Maker signs with UK and they have an eligibility issue with him. It would be funny too if he signs and then goes to Europe.
I think it's 24/7's Crystal Ball projection. Even UK recruiting analysts have him leaning toward KU.
@wissoxfan83 He does this every year. It's all hype to raise his image during tourney and for recruits. He's the greatest promoter ever. The guy is a master at promoting himself.
@drgnslayr Trial...haha...funny
WSU beat KU...blah, blah, blah...Oh wait, how many consecutive MVC titles does WSU have? Wha? Wha? How many NCs do they have?
They are not king in Kansas. Good grief...One lousy game with so much drama and so many issues, and people want to crown WSU king. It's really funny.
@EdwordL I so hope WVU can knock UK out and spoil their year.
@JhawkAlum Yeah...that will be a nice end to the season regardless of the tourney and all the crazy drama this year.
Actually, next season is just beginning. We'll have to follow the recruiting. Hopefully we can land 1-2 more this year.
We also have a shot at Cheick Diallo too.
@betterfireE Hope so...screw it...we need him.
@Crimsonorblue22 Guarantee you Wessel will never get that hot. It's great the least likely guy beats KU. KU's story every year.
Don't think WSU gets passed ND.
@Crimsonorblue22 I never lost hope for BG. He showed flashes. But flashes don't win games.
Overall, I wanted more, but all things considered, not too bad. I just didn't want to see them lose like this, to WSU or any team.
Let's reload and see what happens next year.
Lucas just didn't quite produce up to his bill. I forget how young these kids are and my expectations are too high.
@Crimsonorblue22 It depends on Oubre and Selden. They're not ready for the league, but you know how that goes. They think they're ready for the league.
Let's see what happens. We may lose Alex, Selden, and Oubre. We have 1 schollie open already. We could have 4 total. Braggs gets 1 and we do need a 5. I don't think we get Zimmerman. I hope to get Maker without the eligibility drama. We get either Brown, Newman, or maybe Ingram. Self's system just doesn't work well in post season without a 5.
Let's see what happens next year with this team.
Who's gone? Who stays?
@Crimsonorblue22 They all lacked something.
@Bwag Their momentum ended when Ellis went out. They just didn't get it back.
@Crimsonorblue22 Oubre decided that 9 pts was enough for his college career.
KU giving this game away...Wessel...the enigma...there's your headline...KU always gets a guy that never scores all year and presto...he hits 2 threes...LOL
ATTACK THE RIM...AND DISH...DANG
Mason looks out of it...is he on drugs?
marshall is going to hack Ellis all game...Oubre is absent and Selden is a no show...WTH
NOT a good end to the half. Self better get this team awake. Ellis going out really hurt KU's rhythm. Mason is soft. Lucas has got to get strong and make strong moves to the basket. He's so soft. WSU is really hacking and KU will need to make them pay.
Where's Selden and Oubre?
Who's our answer to Wessel? He's doing little things to win the game. KU is letting him beat them.

Where is Ali now? Conducting interviews with fans from a team that is back in the same round where they left off with a MVC team again. Where's UNI? Is he burning the nets in the NBA? NO. He, like many players, had a great game. UNI came together in OKC and played what will be the best game ever in school history. I give them their proper due. Really, is this all people can do is rehash the past? How about discussing the present?
BTW, KU broke KU hearts. UNI just played a great game.
I loved the therapy comment. That KU fan will have to start therapy all over again after the interview. That was kinda neat. KU fans handled the interviews with CLASS. How can you forget a face like that? It's etched in my brain. I recognized him immediately.
I was at that game here in OKC.link text ↗
@JayHawkFanToo Come on...I would love to blame refs. Bottom line, Virginia was not the better team. I had Izzo's Spartans all the way regardless of the officials. When you don't make shots or FTs, you're not going to win. I thought they were consistent both ways. It's not one call or another. It's simple: Teams have to score and prevent the officials from "blowing" calls. You can't expect to win with the officials making the right calls. We all know that won't happen. I think Virginia was expecting too much love from the officials. They don't know Izzo's teams.
@HighEliteMajor I agree with UK losing, but Wisconsin over Dook? Not going to happen. Wisconsin too balanced.

Calipari has previously expressed support for a two-year requirement before players can declare for the draft.
He's flipped flopped because he also said that he supported kids going to the league early. Why would you want a kid two years when he could go immediately to the league? Seems odd when most coaches support the kids best interest.
I'll tell you why. This would level the playing field and it would end UK's dynasty of OADs and he would have to coach lesser talent.
Dang Izzo is one of if not the best tourney coaches every post season. They look great.
@JayHawkFanToo Oh sure...not taking anything away from the guy. I like his IQ too. KU needs to play KU's game. The team with fewer TOs will win this game.
I also like Green coming into his shot. He's back in rhythm and Ellis also had a great confidence game against NMSU.
@HighEliteMajor Barber and Lacey were the difference against Nova.
I like our overall matches against WSU. I'll not go into numbers because we've already learned that numbers mean pretty much nothing. But, man for man, I think KU is the better team.
Mason/VanVleet/Graham - Mason should come out ready to play and have something to prove. This will be a huge game for him. It's time to establish himself on the national scene as a pg. This game will be huge. Graham has to play within himself tomorrow.
Selden/Baker - Selden is way more athletic than Baker. Baker is a pure shooter, much like Green. I'd even take Green over Baker. Baker does have experience and doesn't get rattled.
Oubre/Green/Cotton (?) - Again, Cotton has experience, but give athleticism to Oubre and Green.
Ellis/Wessel/Brown/Traylor (?) - Ellis should have a festive day. I'd even give Traylor the edge over Wessel and Brown.
Lucas/Carter - Lucas should be strong and after scrimmaging against Embiid, he should be the better of the two. I think with Alex out, Lucas has come into his own. I see him getting better as we move forward.
I'd even throw in the Red Fury @KUSTEVE...This might be a great opportunity for Mickelson.
We have to play smart and with intensity. I thought IU did a great job pushing the ball against WSU. We need to gas them like IU. We should get a lot of high percentage quick shots. I thought Yogi Ferrell provided so much for Mason. He gave Mason a great blueprint at the pg.
RCJHGOKU
@Crimsonorblue22 I knew Nova would be the first 1 seed out. Dook should be next.
Match-ups, Smash ups...who wants this game more. If KU comes out and forgets who they're playing after playing a less than NMSU, KU is in for a battle. WSU and Marshall will want this game for obvious reasons.
KU is overall the better team and are battle tested. But, teams that come and play with grit and determination tend to give KU fits on both ends of the court.
We know both teams, numbers, and hype. Here's the question to be answered: Who wants it more?
@betterfireE Good observation. I'd go at Baker. He has slow feet. Cotton didn't do much either. VanVleet was all lay-ups and FTs. Mason and Graham will have to stay in front of VanVleet. Our D is much better than IU.
They have Morris, Carter, and maybe Brown inside. The tallest they put on the floor is 6-7. They have 6-10, 6-11, and 6-8 on the bench. Mason needs to remember Staten and stay in front of VanVleet. VanVleet was all layups and FTs.
@Blown My thoughts exactly. It's their choice.
Perry needs to bring it. He's going to have a lot riding on this game. Its time he breaks out of this post injury slump. He only scored 9 pts against NMSU.
Bring it Perry. You will determine this game. Lead this team against the Shockers.
@cragarhawk Pretty much true of any team at this point.
