Good gawd I hope our guys are focused and come to play. I'd like to see them throttle this WSU team.
@Crimsonorblue22 Media hype
WSU it is...
IU is loosy goosy and WSU is overplaying. We definitely have the advantage inside. I'd give our 3 guard the edge and we are fairly even on the 2 and 1.
The 1 and 2 will be a good match up with either team. I think if our 1 and 2 guards play and win the battle, KU wins against either team.
WSU is learning the difference between the B10 and MVC. I hope Mason is taking notes from the IU guards and using this to scout the IU guards. Mason and Graham can pick WSU apart by driving the lanes. A spread type offense will kill WSU. They are slow. IU's guards are eating WSU alive. WSU is not quick at all.
WSU is learning the difference between the MVC and the B10. I hope Mason is taking notes from the PG of IU, if we play WSU. WSU is not responding well to IU's quickness. Then he can use this game to scout IU's guards, if we play IU.
@RockChalkinTexas It was Elmore that made the comment about Self. He said Self should respond with "Anytime or anywhere....bring it. This is the NCAA tournament." I prefer to think that Self is optimistically cautious. People always want hype and drama.
Just like our little Shocker brother Marshall. He's a little boy that has temper tantrums when things don't go his way. He'll take his toys and go to another sandbox. I say, pee in his sandbox, and steal his toys. Then he won't have anything to cry about.
BTW- We are seeing the difference between the MVC and the B10. IU played Wisconsin for cryin' out loud. Shockers want a little mid-major MVC game. They are playing big time now. They are playing very battle tested teams from tougher conferences.
okay...IU and WSU...game time...Tom Crean time
@Crimsonorblue22 Not quite for me. I remember in '08 when KU beat UNC, I went in my backyard and yelled ROOOOOOCK CHAAAAALK
jAAAAAYHAAK GOOOO KU
My neighbor asked me if I was drunk...I said, hell yes.
@brooksmd You need to have a nice sip for @Crimsonorblue22, he's refilling a tea after this win...I know you have something harder that is a bit more appropriate. This was a great first tourney game for KU. They looked relaxed, loose, and had fun. It's a great formula.
@Crimsonorblue22 Greg Marshall is all talk...I don't respect him much at all after his little boy tirade last year about playing KU. He lost my respect. What he said was stupid and unprofessional. He started this whole mess.
@Crimsonorblue22 I don't know who was talking on the gamecast. Who called the game for CBS?
@JayhawkRock78 No heart burn...nice lunch
I think WSU fans are looking right past IU too...They want KU so bad, they can taste it.
Did you hear the comments about Self's comments playing against WSU..."Afraid...You're Afraid to play 'em"...I'm sick of that talk. We have nothing to gain playing WSU other than a stupid in state rivalry. Well, WSU might get what they ask for, but I'm afraid they're looking right past IU to KU.
@RockChalkinTexas I want IU, but if it's WSU, so be it. Bring it
@Crimsonorblue22 Difficult question
I'm up for this next game IU v WSU
This should shut up the haters of the B12...Not only did we win, but we won with authority.
Rock Chalk That Haters
Ok...they have to maintain intensity. Don't let up on the next game. Let's not celebrate yet.
Let's see whether it's IU or WSU. I really doubt WSU can get passed IU. IU is playing well.
My favorite Danny Manning and ISU story.
@wrwlumpy Kimmel is really big on KU and he always has them high.
@JayHawkFanToo !747.jpg ↗!inside 747.jpg ↗
This is what $153 million gets Calipari, and a few recruits.
Just a little March Madness humor. No hate, just fun.
I really don't see WSU getting past IU. I don't think people will get the KU v. WSU showdown. We get passed UK, our chances are good to win this whole dance.
I think Wisconsin will emerge from the West.
I wouldn't overlook MSU in the East either.
Dook's bracket is a joke. Their ticket is all but punched to the E8.
One game at a time, that's all.
@drgnslayr Let's hope the whole team has a chip when they play.
@Crimsonorblue22 IF, big IF they get this mess resolved.
@Crimsonorblue22 I hope you are right. But Self doesn't sound optimistic at all or he's grossly under promising and will over deliver. Why do I think something good is going to happen during this tourney over all this mess. I think KU deserves a big break after the regular season.
What say you all?
All in favor, say "I"...opposed "NO"...We need something. This has been an atypical season. We need a big boost.
Why do I believe these guys will come out like gang busters? I think if they play with nothing to lose, they go very deep.
Sorry Cliff...I have no words my friend. You could've been a contender. We hardly knew ye.
I would've like to have seen TRob spike it off Pressey's head and then bounce wildly into the third row.
@Crimsonorblue22 You just had to post it...this image will require some therapy.
Why does that look so sick? It should look 'descent,' 'pure,' 'wholesome,' maybe 'grandfatherly,'...but Dickie just looks like the perverted old uncle that takes advantage. Look at that liplock...good grief. She's actually backing away too. I could understand a light little peck on the cheek, but gee.
Dickie V says, "Rock Chalk Jayhawk Olivia Wilde Baby...You're next on my list."
Olivia Wilde is in hiding.
@HighEliteMajor I'm a huge BG supporter. However, Svi is still adjusting and Green has a lot of experience. Svi's day is coming. I just don't think he can handle the pace of the tourney at this point. I hope Green gets hot. I mentioned Selden, Oubre, Green and Mason must heat up. We'll need them all.
I don't know why we're even discussing this tourney. It appears UK has won already. They're not going to lose, according to Myron and ESPN.
Did I miss the tourney?
@Crimsonorblue22 Loves it
@drgnslayr We are just not quite dominate enough inside (as UK) to pound inside as in years past. Self needs to simply do some old fashioned coaching and really 'scout' these teams and decide what works best against each team. The old 'pound it inside' will not work against some of these teams. We all learned that last year against Stanford.
We've got to run plays that will open the floor, spread it, and go over the top. We'll need to drive and dish. High screens are great, but rather than the predictable "pick and roll," lets see some high ball screens for Oubre, Green, Selden, and maybe Mason. Self is too predictable.
Lastly, Ellis has got to be healthy PERIOD. If not, we're done. I hate it, but ISU proved that. A healthy Ellis would've been a W.
March Madness voids all this complex thinking. Just take your theories and wad them up and throw them in the fireplace. They simply don't matter. We should all know this by now. How many times has KU's numbers been completely dominating? How many times have those numbers been proven wrong? In how many years?
I can recall at least two tourneys where KU's numbers were exactly what some are wanting on this board, only to lose at some point in the tourney. No, the numbers don't lie @HighEliteMajor, but those numbers only give you a picture. Then, when the teams get on the floor, it's not the same team and we should know this at KU.
It's simple: Who wants it more? Green is sparking, Selden is looking good, Ellis gets better (per his interview), and we can get some bench; We might just surprise a few people.
I think this tourney may provide some shocking surprises. This may be the year the numbers don't quite support what will actually happen? Just some thoughts.
I know one thing: KU is not favored at all and frankly we are dubbed the weakest. In fact, Borzello and Eamon says the Midwest is "O.K." apart from UK. Many have UK winning this thing and if @HighEliteMajor is correct, then let's forgo the hassle of having a tourney this year and just give the NC to UK. They meet all @HighEliteMajor criteria.
I watched Wisconsin and MSU. Wisconsin is smart good and freaky athletic. They are solid. UK has cracks and a good team will expose them, much like WSU last year. I think they are sick, but beatable. All it takes is one bad night and they're done.
My sleeper? We don't have a real one this year.
Dook gets bounced early.
Nova will get bounced relatively early too.
I like the idea of WVU possibly playing UK...they may be the team to spoil UK's season and I guarantee you their fans are pissing their pants. UK has to get passed Purdue too. KU will definitely be playing WSU. I'm sorry WSU is good, but don't think the MVC is all that strong. Wisconsin will cruise through their bracket. Baylor might give them a run. I just don't think Scotty is a tournament coach and Bo will have him for lunch. Zona is weak coming from a weak PAC12. I think PAC12 was a fool's gold conference this year.
MSU or OU will knock off Nova.
I hope the B12 proves themselves to be the strongest conference.
I hate to say it, but ISU is strong in their bracket too. I think they can beat Dook. Utah will give Dook a good run too. I'll be curious to see what Larry Brown and SMU will do against ISU or UCLA. Gonzaga is doomed in their bracket with ISU.
Enough talk...LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE
"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious." -Vince Lombardi
ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK GO KU
@JayHawkFanToo Yeah, I thought "problem solvers" was a bit odd.
@KUSTEVE Don't let the NCAA find out about your drug use. They might find a way to sanction KU for fan drug use. Good grief this thing is absurd. However, I do thank Mr Stafford for his transparency. I think it's sad the NCAA keeps people in the dark on these issues. Then, they wonder why people have such animosity and lack of trust for them on these issues.
[http://www2.kusports.com/news/2015/mar/12/attorney-cliff-alexander-says-freshman-waiting-nca/] ↗
@wissoxfan83 Great point and no...I don't think it's a total conspiracy against KU, but it is odd how it's being addressed. We've all discussed the Cam Newton allegations, but he didn't sit one game.
I brought up AD's situation, and he didn't sit one game, did he? Now, KU chose to sit Alex until this thing was resolved. However, NCAA isn't thinking of the player at all. You're right, they are looking to protect themselves, NOW. KU and Alex are simply a pawn in their little game. Maybe my problem is how they are picking and choosing their battles. I don't see any consistency with all programs and it's interesting why now? Why KU? and mostly why Alex?
I'm not even going to defend if this is true then yes, the violation needs to be punished. Either KU and Alex are just really dumb at addressing these issues with the NCAA or other programs are just way better at addressing them than KU. Funny, the good programs get punished while the guilty seems to go unpunsihed.
BTW, this isn't about hating UK at all. I think highly of their program. They just have the most smoke. I certainly have nothing against the players at all. This completely out of their control for the most part.
Once again, I'm not focused on other programs or comparing the KU players and programs with others, BUT, I still can't believe this is an isolated issue. This can't be a legitimate investigation. KU is not the only program with this issue. Cliff Alexander can't be the only player that's had a family member, however defined, attempt to barrow money? And even if they did barrow money WTH does Cliff have to do or benefit from it. My guess he's just the victim of NCAA politics and someone's terrible agenda.
I remember when Anthony Davis had a little stink about an impropriety. If I remember correctly, it was roughly something about his dad taking some kind of financial benefit? I understand WWW was involved and that may have influenced AD to UK? However, it was swept under the carpet and once again ol' Calipari and his program goes unscathed or even impacted as KU and Cliff. Oh, btw, don't forget they won the NC, which is great. I'm happy to see a program win. But, even after the "so-called" routine investigation, nothing was found and they won the NC without issues? PLEEEZE. This is not hate or envy either. This is about a program winning cleanly without any unnecessary help or influence. The sad thing is, this is happening ALL over D1 bball and the NCAA is turning a blind eye.
Now, some how, and some way, we have Alex's ridiculous issue. I was waiting and pretty much resolved until I heard the latest and how the NCAA is dragging it's feet. What's the problem? Get your damn docs, review the stupid thing and make a stupid ruling already. This isn't fair to KU, Alex, or the entire NCAA bball program. Someone is deliberately stalling and causing this mess to escalate. Alex and KU are suffering. Once again, thank you to the NCAA for being such a stellar organization and protecting programs and players. Great job and keep up the corrupt work...jokes all.
Leave it to Gary Parrish to defend it all and to put a nice spin on it.

Not the most reputable looking write-up, but a great question all the same and it will never be answered.
Come on, you can't tell me something can't be found.
Hey Cliff have your family member DENY EVERYTHING. Let's follow the UK way of dealing with these matters. It seems to work well for UK and Calipari.
"The rumors/sources that have Davis choosing Kentucky are also alleging that the commitment cost $200,000. Davis Sr. has flat out denied everything."
Speaking of the Cliff...This NCAA "investigation" is a three ring circus. It's bullsh*t. REINSTATE ALEX. This is a conspiracy pure and simple. NCAA should be ashamed of themselves.
B12 tourney=B12 Consolation prize...sorry I just don't like the tourneys. I'll never understand why they play those conference tourneys. The regular season B12 Champions have claimed the title 11 consecutive times. I guess it's to make some poor team feel better about themselves. I know for a fact, the B12 tourney winner always claims they are the B12 Champs after playing 3-4 games?
Let's mention the huge risk of an injury for what? I think the conferences and the teams should take that time to rest and heal. It will never happen. It will either help Ellis get back on track for the NCAAs or it will hurt either him or someone else, Selden?
Oh well, like someone quoted Self, "if you're gonna play 'em, might as well win 'em." I just hope not a huge price.
@Crimsonorblue22 I've played team sports most of my life, basketball and baseball. I hate losing more than anyone. He paid the price for his "actions." I said, they were likely stupid. But for grown adults to kick a kid in the gut is really unnecessary. We don't play on the team. Maybe he needs a little "Code Red" by the rest of the players? Maybe Bill Self needs to kick his azz. I'm not defending him, but I will stand up to a bunch of arm chair fans that verbally beats up a young player who will learn his lessons and will likely be humbled some how, he's a young man.
Let's let Self and Co take care of this problem. Whatever happens, let's support it.
Get off Brannen's back. We don't know what he did, but it does no good to beat a kid when he's down. Good grief you are all mature adults. Quit beating a young man down that is growing up. Some young people just have a propensity to do stupid things. He is a great student and an even better bball player. Whatever he did Self obviously gave him a good scold. This game meant absolutely nothing and OU acted like they won the B12 title. I wanted them to win, but oh well. I didn't care either way. We all got what we wanted, 11 straight titles. Let's regroup, hope we get players back and prepare for the tourney.
Again, the B12 tourney doesn't matter either. I would love for them to win, but not at the expensive of injury or getting completely worn out after a brutal B12 conference season.
@ralster I hope uK gets caught at something. I just think they cleaned their laundry the minute a former NCAA investigative member took a position with uK's AD.
If you read the announcement "...the hiring doesn't signal any brewing compliance trouble for the Cats..." I'll give them credit, this was a brilliant move by uK. She can clean their dirty laundry at uK and with the NCAA investigative committee. They won't get caught at all folks. This is so obvious it's sick, but brilliant for uK.
This is right up there with Lunardi's "eye test."
