@drgnslayr I know, but this is Alex. He just needs more help than the average athlete. This is not a bad thing either. His entire high school had a huge academic problem. I didn't think he'd get away without something catching him.
@drgnslayr I hate to say, but Alex isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. They really need to get him a tutor. I actually met a lady that attended KU back during Wilt's time at KU and she tutored him. I know they have tutors, but let's face it, some need them more than others.
I love Alex and mean no hurt at all. But if you need classroom help, get it.
@Lulufulu No, no, I'm referring to the Mickelson possibility. I'm moving on from the Alex thing at this point. It does us no good to dwell on the unknown.
@Lulufulu Well, let's give him his chance. He may turn out a bit like Aldrich. How many of us took a deep breath when Aldrich came in to play? Against N Carolina? Deep in the tourney? Final 4? I did and until he battled PsychoT, the rest is history.

@JayhawkRock78 This is too painful of the TRob grief and the game we lost to UT then. This is not the same at all, but interesting that we play UT when something hits us, strange. That was a home game too.
The guys need to be ready to play. Forget the mess and go out with something to prove. They have enough to play for at this point.

@bskeet Who was it that had a similar player issue and they recently cleared? I think Arthur comes to mind and all his Science class mess. He was freakin' cleared by the house and then they found that something wasn't right. They then said, "Oops, sorry, our bad...he's good, congratulations!"
@cragarhawk I'll take my chances with Lucas. Mickelson has been sitting too much and the pace of these games, this late, are too much. If I play Mickelson, and it wouldn't hurt, Self needs to slowly work him into the lineup. Maybe he and Lucas can split 20 mins a piece. I'd just go with whoever seems in rhythm.

Interestingly enough, to this day, Calipari still claims NOTHING. I love it. BTW, he says there's no way to monitor what his players or recruits do. Hello, I'm no million dollar coach, but if I have a top recruit, my butt as head coach will be all over him to guarantee he's above the eligibility requirements. Derrick Rose should've never played in college at all. Calipari smiles and crawls on his belly like a snake. He crawls through a pile of crap and comes out smelling like a rose...I love D1 college coaching, it's the American way.

@joeloveshawks No. I think it will definitely put him in a bad situation. He'll either stay and we'll take our lumps like we did with Mari and BMac. Worse case, I hope, is, Alex simply sits maybe rest of the regular season. Maybe serves a suspension for regular and conf tourney. He may get to come back for the NCAAs. Or pending how bad, he may be finished. Thankfully, our head coach is an upstanding guy and won't sell out the farm to have a winning season. KU is compliant and has always been above board with the NCAA, unlike other programs. We see it right in front of our eyes too. There's too much parity with NCAA investigations.
It definitely makes no sense to return next year, unless this can be resolved within this season.
Damn it...WTH is going on now? Who in the hell allowed this to happen? This is all we need and hope it's a simple infraction. Why do I see sneering and tongue in cheek looks from other programs? How in the hell do we recruit and sign a top pick, only to be screwed this late in the season? This smells of conspiracy, plain and simple. Also, you never hear of them sniffing around uk or many other programs lately. Ironically, KU has one of if not the best team GPAs. So what eligibility is in question?
Do you all find the timing and before all games interesting? So...either this is a minor issue and a mere sitting will satisfy or they are going to screw the program from KU getting #11. What a sports story. This may be partly the reason for Alex's inconsistent play of late. Self may have been anticipating something.
Now my question is...eligibility prior to signing during all that mess at his high school? Can't be, he was cleared by the NCAA. This has got to be since he's been attending classes at KU.
What's really sad now is their court storming was really a moronic mob riot that meant nothing. They storm the court and put players at risk. Yet, we're still #1 in B12 and likely adding another one of those pretty shining things that are alien to little cowtown. Poor purple pussy cats just don't get it. They'll do anything for mediocrity.

@jaybate-1.0 The way this season is going, it wouldn't surprise me if ISU goes to TCU and gets beat. I think ISU goes to Ft Worth, takes them for granted and gets beat.
@drgnslayr The team has to decide NOW. You're right AFH has to get off their lazy backsides, and act as though the season depends on it. I hope they understand it does. We can take Texas and we can take WVU. I think we can take OU. This team has to decide whether they can and go do it.
@Lulufulu We can only hope that KSU plays ISU like they did against us. Then we have to hope that OU plays them well too. There are KU's two hopes at this point. KSU (irony) and OU. But then we have to beat UT, WVU, and OU.

@JayhawkRock78 IF that's Oubre and I'm not sure if we are talking about the same incident, he/she fisted and pounded the player. I know the haircut looks like Oubre, but I saw what looked like another KSU player run in front and their unis matched. The footage is really hard to follow and the color seems a bit distorted. I believe that was Justin Edwards, not Oubre. You may be right, I could be mistaken, but if that's Oubre the fan just validated my post even more.

I knew this would happen. If you review our game discussion from last night, it didn't surprise me.
I'm not sure about the left side of the Mari assault, but I looked to the left and saw KState fans shoulder checking their own players. Also, watch the KState player to the left, a female KState fan comes out of no where and fists their own player several times.
This is a pure case of crowd frenzy and mob mentality. This was by definition a wild riot by KState, not what Mushberger, Liberace, and the idiot AD of KState is saying. They are obviously defending this mob rioting mentality. This is not a peaceful celebration.
