We're not going to lose this game. Not sure we'll win the next.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:33 PM

If Doke got hurt the first game of the season would we be playing in the dance?

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:31 PM

@BShark Yeah it was strange. They had a TO too and the possession was falling apart.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:29 PM

Belmont screws up a possession that would have won them the game.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:27 PM

Belmont within one, 59 ticks left.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:19 PM

There's a former Jayhawk coaching on tru. I loved Turg as a player, but don't care for him much as a coach.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:04 PM

A foul on an alley oop isnt a shooting foul?

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 09:03 PM

Kind of crazy that they've called twice as many fouls on us as NE.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:55 PM

@KirkIsMyHinrich That looked like NBA defense on that drive of KJ's

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:53 PM

Our defense has actually been good this game I'd say.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:50 PM

Whaddya know, Dedric comes in we get an easy postup basket.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:47 PM

We're not sweating too much yet, but the Spartans are. DOwn 1 to Bradley with 8 minutes left.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:46 PM

@DCHawker You mean college basketball incompetence?

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:45 PM

Who needs bigs when you got Dotson? :)

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:41 PM

What is this, the JV?

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:40 PM

Wow.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:33 PM

Grimes has missed 11 straight 3's if my calculations are correct.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 08:26 PM

Grimes with an airball on a drive to the rim. Or was it a pass to Dedric?

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 07:12 PM

If Bradley wins, and they are my dad's alma mater, my bracket will be wrecked all the way to the final as I had them winning in my bracket.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 06:17 PM

@Kcmatt7 I admit it was close, but it seemed to be touching his hand when the light lit. Not hearing sound as I watch so not sure if that's part of their review.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 06:15 PM

My perfect bracket is now wrecked.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 06:10 PM

Wow replay officials just ignored evidence in favor of an ACC team. What a shocker.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 06:08 PM

Semi big replay review here. Will refs overturn this call when it appears they should?

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 06:06 PM

I hate cheering for Minny

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 06:04 PM

@jayballer73 Wikipedia has a huge list of things that KU is near the top in among all programs. Pretty interesting stuff. The consecutive weeks ranked streak is our next relatively big one to break. It will be broken provided we stay ranked through most of next season.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 05:54 PM

Too bad Murray and Marquette are the same time as our game. I would've made time to watch that just to see the dual between Howard and what's his name from Murray. Anyone who doesn't think the NCAA sets up these matchups for TV's benefit is greatly deceived.

Directional Game Thread • Mar 21, 2019 05:52 PM

Louisville getting away with some major trash talk right now trying to goad Minny into acting stupid. Not surprised with their classless head coach.

Hoiberg Nebrasketball • Mar 21, 2019 02:35 PM

@dylans Ahh, my bad, started typing and was trying to remember who had sang their praises, turns out it was @DCHawker!

Hoiberg Nebrasketball • Mar 21, 2019 02:21 PM

@HighEliteMajor I hear you on that. That second love of mine needs a good competitor in the western division.

@dylans You are right, they were good for a while.

Last week I saw Nebraska play in the BIG tournament. Miles was a blast to watch. He has a great personality and appears to be very outgoing and friendly. Just watching him interact at the before the game with the opposing coaches was cool to watch. I hope he survives and hangs on.

KU BUCKETS' [ESPN] BRACKET CHALLENGE! • Mar 21, 2019 12:58 PM

Good luck in the tourney ya'll but I've just got to say as in any other year this grizzled old veteran of the college game will once again dominate. You'll be looking at my bracket in awe. You'll wonder if I'm psychic or something even. I will destroy your brackets, you'll probably not even look at yours after the first weekend because you will have lost hope of defeating me. I am the dominator!

Hoiberg Nebrasketball • Mar 21, 2019 12:55 PM

@Fightsongwriter Not sure about the Danny Nee is hurt comment, but 7 dances overall with Nary a sweet 16 appearance means a program that has never been vital. I was being a little snarky to be honest, but I never think of Nebraska basketball and vital!

Hoiberg Nebrasketball • Mar 21, 2019 02:59 AM

@BShark Revitalize the program? What's there to revitalize? It's never been vital has it?

NCAA Selection Show • Mar 20, 2019 05:11 PM

I hope that us, UK and UNC make it to Kansas City. That will be an electric arena for sure.

KU BUCKETS' [ESPN] BRACKET CHALLENGE! • Mar 20, 2019 05:09 PM

For years I griped in my own mind about people doing multiple brackets. This year I'm joining the multiple brackets crowd!

I did an RPI bracket. We are 2nd in RPI, mainly because of our strong schedule I suppose, and in that bracket, we come out facing RPI#1 Duke, but keeping to that method of filling it out Duke beats us.

NCAA Selection Show • Mar 20, 2019 04:31 PM

@BeddieKU23 Do you think the whole AFH East thing is a bit overblown? Obviously we've had some stinging defeats there. I think it might be that the stadium is in Missouri and that state and bad basketball go together and it wears off on us.

EVERYONE LIKES MITCH • Mar 20, 2019 02:31 AM

Dang, saw the avatar and thought Jaybate was back.

NCAA Selection Show • Mar 19, 2019 10:33 PM

@BeddieKU23 I will be too. Although I don't think we'd fare too well against UNC, a matchup with them would be a blockbuster!

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 10:11 PM

@kjayhawks IDK. I don't follow it as closely as some who know as a matter of fact that Duke cheated to get him.

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 09:16 PM

@BShark I have little doubt about what you said that it goes on at a lot of places.

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 09:04 PM

@BShark You're proving my point. You're saying Duke is guilty. How do you know and the NCAA doesn't? That makes no sense to me.

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 08:45 PM

By the way, it seems like you all just think they're picking on KU.

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 08:38 PM

@kjayhawks @Kcmatt7 OK, Glad I made you laugh! If everyone is dirty, why are they just picking on us? I know technically they're not just picking on us, AZ is under fire and others, but why are they just picking on us? If the shoe scumbags do that with other schools, why did the NCAA just rule our guy ineligible and why do we expect worse sanctions to come in the next year or so? Wouldn't they be doing the same? Believe me I want it to come down on Duke and Kentucky and UNC as much as all of ya'll, but can you answer my question?

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 04:41 PM

What if Kentucky or Duke isn't dirty? I've brought this up before. Our athletic department, as badgered as we've been by the NCAA would certainly be pointing out to the NCAA the dirt on the other programs. It's human nature. We get caught in something and say 'what about them, they were doing it too?'.

We like to say the NCAA is going to protect their premier programs. I'd like to say we are one of the premier programs. We're college hoops royalty. We're evidence to a lot of fans around the country that the NCAA will go after the big dogs. So part of me says if other blue bloods are dirty the NCAA would be going after them too. But they're not. So I conclude maybe they're not dirty.

Hot Rumor • Mar 19, 2019 12:45 PM

@BeddieKU23 You might remember I started a thread a year ago just after the tournament where I had a conversation with a man who used to play college ball back in the day who told me Self/KU is one of the dirtiest programs out there.

I asked the question "is Bill Self dirty?". I about had my head taken off by some, but others agreed just a little bit. I don't want to say or believe he's dirty because he's our coach and I don't want to be let down with evidence that he is, if such evidence exists. If nothing else the next year promises to be interesting.

NCAA Selection Show • Mar 19, 2019 12:45 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I hate being caught in hypocrisy! Er, it was a spellcheck error, I was trying to type some good guy and it changed it to doofus.

NCAA Selection Show • Mar 18, 2019 11:35 PM

Some doofus on CBS SportsNetwork just picked Northeastern to beat us. While I understand a little, I still get outraged and offended, and butthurt, and flabbergasted, and I need more synonyms, where's @jaybate-1-0 when you need him, uh am generally put in a bad mood when someone has the nerve to say some team is going to beat us.

Old Friend • Mar 18, 2019 09:57 PM

@bcjayhawk Not really

Old Friend • Mar 18, 2019 06:03 PM

@tundrahok Well I guess exceptions can be made...

Bracketology Time • Mar 18, 2019 05:09 PM

@nuleafjhawk Imagine the hype Wilt would have gotten if there was an ESPN back then! Danny was great but Wilt was a once in a lifetime game changer.

Old Friend • Mar 18, 2019 05:00 PM

@approxinfinity Thanks. My comment was really directed at the original post because if we want to grow our page here we need to be clear about what it is that we are posting. I read that and had little clue what he was talking about. The picture helped some. Grown men calling other grown men piggy, or squeaky or ratface doesn't add to this site in my opinion.
