I'm worried about the lowest watched National Championship game ever when we play Silo Tech, after beating TTech by a 1/2 point in the semis.
I'm worried that I will incur the wrath of God when I stay home from kids club at church tomorrow night to watch the game.
@mayjay At the championship game in 2012 we were way up in the nosebleeds. This group of Kentucky fans walk in and sit, uh I mean stand right in front of us. We're in a neutral section mind you, but as soon as the game starts they stand. I thought, ok, well they'll sit after the first TO. No luck, so I said to the kid who is young enough to be my son, I said, would you all sit down please? And the kid, and this is the part where I came closer to being violent than I ever have in my life, points to the big screen on the scoreboard and tells me I can watch it up there.
While we met some nice Kentucky fans of course, even not all of them are jerks, they were arrogant and jerky. The T-shirts I saw, SMH, a woman wearing a T that said "this bitch bleeds Kentucky blue" Wow, I bet her old man was proud of his old lady wearing a shirt like that! Kentucky = Jerks is my conclusion!
3 teams in the final 8, not shabby! Hoping for 2 of 3, KU and Tech!

@mayjay I was so giddy I don't remember if Kentucky stuck around. The two time defending champion Pistons didn't when the Bulls knocked them out in 1991. In fact they left the bench while the game was still winding down.
Never had a class in Hoch. I did sing the Handels Solomon in there and had the huge review sessions from West Civ. Sitting in there I was trying to imagine a basketball game in there. Never could figure it out!

This is the most I've ever cheered for Silo Tech. Easier for me maybe since I didn't grow up or ever even lived in Kansas except my KU years.
Hope KState can survive all these fouls.

Article in the Chicago Tribune about Weber today. Gives you a good perspective on the much maligned (at least on these pages) coach. He's one of 10 coaches to take 3 different teams to the Sweet 16. He's taken KState to 4 NCAA tournaments. When he was a young up and comer in Wisconsin he was invited by Gene Keady to come to W. Kentucky for an interview. Bruce drove all the way there, about 9 hours, and Keady had forgot! In fact he was out of the country. When he returned Weber called him and Keady hired him over the phone, and a 21 year coaching relationship had begun. Gave me some appreciation for Bruce. Maybe not as bad as we'd thought!

Last Sunday A & M beats UNC by 21.
Tonight Michigan Beats A & M by 22.
That's a 58 point improvement.

@Kcmatt7 Northwestern as you probably know can't recruit a lot of kids because of academics, at least that's what I've always thought. Depaul lost in recruiting when Ray Meyers son Joey ticked off an influential HS coach who then prevented public league kids from going there.
Illinois is a mystery kind of. When Self left, UIC's coach wanted the job, he was African American and claimed race was a factor in him not being hired. He had been a U of I assistant and thus influenced a lot of city kids from going to U of I. Weber struggled to get the gold mine of later 2000's kids like Rose, Collins (thankfully for us!) Davis, Okafor, Parker, etc. etc.

Caroline on Nevada averaging 17 a game illustrates Illinois' failures. His Grandpa was a CFHOF running back at U of I, his dad Simeon Rice a superstar defenseman at the U of I. The kid played hs ball in Champaign, went to Monteverde Academy with Ben Simmons for a year, and wasn't recruited by John Groce. Unbelievable.
Some good matchups here. Nevada playing great D early, but so is Loyola all of a sudden.
