First time we played UCF, we'd just lost to WVU, and given our results last year in shuffleboard land, I think we were a bit leery of how things would go. Well if you were out celebrating the new year early and incapable of remembering that game, we were pissed. It was embarrassing to lose to Hillybilly Tech. And so we made sure we didn't lose. It felt like one of those Nov 1 games between us and the Nunavit University JV team. We destroyed them.
We got back on our feet, lost a tough one to ISU, but played relatively decently and then a loss that somehow felt WAY worse than the West Virginia debacle. Houston was an all timer. We'll talk about it for decades. Poor DaJuan and Mayo will have nightmares for decades. Bill Self will question all that he has accomplished has just been dumb luck because how could he coach a team that so inexplicably folded twice in the span of 15 minutes?
So poor old Central Florida walks in and must be thinking oy vey, what did we do to deserve this?
Well I predict a confidence booster. I saw a reminder that almost to the day 3 years ago we got destroyed by Kentucky on our home court and many views of the team, including mine I remember, were of a uninspiring end to the season. I think the end was just the opposite. A comeback from the Kentucky doom, and a comeback from the UNC 1st half in NOLA. I think we'll get rolling again and then have to go to Baylor, see ISU again, go to Houston, go to BYU, go to Colorado, see hot Arizona, and wow, TONIGHT IS A MUST WIN!!
