First pre-season game Saturday at 7pm central time!!

Aug 05, 2025 09:46 PM #2

Can't wait!

I guess the major question for the chiefs this summer is which WRs are healthy and available?

Aug 05, 2025 10:36 PM #3

@rockchalkjayhawk I wan to see rookie LT Simmons in action as well as Kingsley at LG. I’m hoping the line is solidified. On the defensive side I’m curious about the d-line too! Gillote (sp) in particular.

Aug 06, 2025 02:32 AM #4

Sounds like RT Jawaan Taylor had a torn meniscus most of last season.
Hope he's on the mend after surgery.

Kingsley i think will make most nervous until he can prove himself reliable.

Aug 16, 2025 02:21 AM #5

Does Seattle pump in crowd noise? It sounds manufactured, soulless.

The eye in the sky making measurements is fine and dandy, but it doesn’t fix the bad spot.

Aug 16, 2025 03:18 AM #6

For the record - I flippin hate the dumbass idea of sitting all the starters. Yeah, yeah - the poor little billionaires might get a hang nail or break a sweat. They're not getting better or smarter riding the pine.

Aug 16, 2025 04:57 AM #7

@nuleafjhawk More importantly it makes for bad football watching! 😝

Aug 16, 2025 11:00 AM #8

@nuleafjhawk just abolish the preseason at this point

Aug 16, 2025 01:25 PM #9

@BShark that would be awesome!

Aug 16, 2025 02:41 PM #10

@nuleafjhawk Unfortunately they never will because it still makes them money

Aug 16, 2025 02:57 PM #11

@BShark @nuleafjhawk the owners claim preseason games still make them good money they will always be there. I really hope the chiefs don’t keep Sky Moore after repeated drops for one good punt return against the practice squad

Aug 16, 2025 09:21 PM #12

Getting something on tape gets some fringe roster guys a spot too. May not be on the team they’re currently playing for, but exposure is good. …The games are crap though.

Aug 17, 2025 02:12 PM #13

No Mahomes on offense shows just how valuable he is to the team. Yikes the roster has some major holes - Patrick just covers up so many deficiencies.

Aug 17, 2025 02:50 PM #14

@dylans completely agree. It somewhat comes with the territory when you have to give a qb a top contract but it can be motivated by great drafting

Aug 21, 2025 12:47 AM #15

Bye bye Skyy. 49ers 2027 6th round pick for Skyy Moore + the Chiefs 2027 7th round pick. I’m kind of surprised they were able to get anything for him, he appeared to be the odd man out in a crowded receiver room.

Aug 21, 2025 03:41 PM #16

@dylans its slightly better than nothing pending on how the pick goes. I honestly thought a $25 Walmart gift card was all they could get for him. He just never developed into a good route runner or a guy that can consistently catch the ball. Two things that won’t work in the nfl. He a good dude I hear from everyone so I wish him well and hope the change suits him well.

Aug 23, 2025 01:10 PM #17

Ari Wolf’s voice is that of a cartoon dork. Strange to hear during an nfl football game.

Was he half crying while trying to talk?

Aug 23, 2025 08:21 PM #19

I watched the game last night. glad to see the starters get some minutes.

Sounds like they are looking for some help at RB. I really don't understand why Mitchell isn't getting any respect. He seems like a good player to me, having watched him with the 49ers.

Aug 23, 2025 11:26 PM #20

@rockchalkjayhawk Travis Etienne is one rumor. He’d be a nice compliment to what they have.

Aug 24, 2025 03:45 AM #21

@dylans @rockchalkjayhawk they should’ve drafted Neal with him falling to the 6th round.

Aug 24, 2025 08:59 PM #22

Chiefs traded for DT Derek Nnadi from the Jets (exchanged 2026 6th and 7th round picks). Got him back after he was signed as a FA last spring by NYJ. Good move!!!

Aug 25, 2025 09:36 PM #23

@mayjay said in 2025 Chiefs:

The only weird part is they probably could have done so without having to trade if they believed he was getting cut. Happy to have him back though.

Aug 26, 2025 09:24 PM #24

Looks like LG Esa Pole was cut. He graded out well last week. (Chiefs kept Wanya Morris though).

RB Carson Steele, S Mike Edwards, QB Zappe rumored to be released also.

Aug 26, 2025 09:30 PM #25

Cut down day! Yea nothing crazy so far. Maybe S Mike Edwards not making the squad, but otherwise nothing crazy. Carson Steele seems like a good special teamer, but maybe he'll end up on the practice squad.

The big question is who will they add?? Excited to see. Lots of rumors swirling.

Aug 27, 2025 01:02 AM #26

I guess there were a couple of interesting moves today upon closer inspection.

Thought they may hold onto Mike Pennel.

Also, as i suspected, Elijah Mitchell was in no danger. He’s on the 53 man roster. Many Others thought he was a cut candidate.

Looks like they hope to put that Clemson rookie TE on the practice squad? Maybe this can be a learning year for him.

Aug 27, 2025 02:02 AM #27

@rockchalkjayhawk Apparently they may re-sign Pennell. As a veteran, not subject to waivers. The Chiefs played with a few of these expected re-signings of vets because, I think, they wanted room on the roster now for 8 WRs so they wouldn't lose anyone to other teams. This enables them to have people who know the offense in place when Rice gets suspended instead of searching for some castoff.

Aug 27, 2025 02:08 AM #28

@mayjay will they take mecole?

Aug 27, 2025 02:18 AM #29

@Crimsonorblue22 I really doubt it. He was only here last year because of injuries.

BTW, this Sports Illustrated post explains the Chiefs' strategy in the roster cuts:

makes sense. NFL teams seem to have lots of strategic thinking with these things.

I still suspect we'll sign a few guys who have been released.

Mecole sure has had some important moments for the Chiefs. Hard to argue against.

Aug 27, 2025 02:49 AM #33

Not a good spot to post this, but I see two former Jayhawk receivers were waived today.

Quentin Skinner was released by the Jets today.

Luke Grimm released by the Chargers.

Any others?

Aug 27, 2025 04:37 AM #34

@rockchalkjayhawk I know Melo was and another, but I forgot🙃 surprised about skinner and Grimm

@rockchalkjayhawk @Crimsonorblue22

Bean was cut by the Colts, too.

Aug 27, 2025 03:27 PM #37

Really? That’s a bummer.

Aug 27, 2025 05:01 PM #38

Ugh. Looks like Rice has accepted a 6 game suspension to start the year.

Aug 27, 2025 05:04 PM #39

@mayjay boo!

Aug 27, 2025 05:48 PM #40

LB Cam Jones and OT Esa Pole, both waived by Chiefs, were picked up by the Jets.

Aug 27, 2025 07:23 PM #41

@Crimsonorblue22 Hardman signed with Packers.

Aug 27, 2025 07:42 PM #42

Personally I am more than good with Mecole and Skyy Moore never playing for KC again.

Aug 27, 2025 07:52 PM #43

Super Bowl LVIII, baby! Hardman with the walkoff TD. Hard to say i'd never want him back :)

Aug 27, 2025 08:38 PM #44

Lots of familiar faces on KC practice squad. From SI:

Offensive linemen Chu Godrick (international player pathway exemption) and C.J. Hanson, defensive backs Mike Edwards, Kevin Knowles and Melvin Smith, running backs Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Carson Steele, quarterback Chris Oladokun, defensive linemen Coziah Izzard, Brodric Martin and MArlon Tuipulotu, wide receivers Hal Presley and Jimmy Holiday and tight end Tre Watson and linebacker Cole Christiansen.

https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/kansas-city-practice-squad-andy-reid-clyde-edwards-helaire-chu-godrick ↗

Aug 27, 2025 08:46 PM #45

The question becomes for the Jayhawks, will any of them get on as a practice squad member. Bean looks like the best QB on that roster when he plays to me. I ain’t at practice everyday but that is a sorry QB room IMO

Aug 27, 2025 08:54 PM #46

@mayjay where is Kobe? #2

Aug 27, 2025 09:28 PM #47

@Crimsonorblue22 Cobee, KU's #2? He was put on inactive/nonfootball (injury? or other reason?) status back in late July by Atlanta (who signed him as undrafted FA). Don't know why...

Aug 27, 2025 09:31 PM #48

I would like to have Mecole as a special teams player and a depth piece, as long as he isn't our WR2 like he used to be. That said, having him or not having him doesn't really move the needle that much.

Aug 27, 2025 09:52 PM #49

CEH on the practice squad it sounds like. Not the RB I was expecting to be added to the roster. Good guy, ok half back.

Aug 27, 2025 09:54 PM #50

Good moves by Veach getting handshake deals done with the vets and stashing them on the practice squad - Pennel and Tonyan. Bottom end of the roster guys rarely move the needle, but Pennel has come up big before.

Correction - Pennel is not signed. Mike Edwards was.

Aug 27, 2025 09:59 PM #51

@mayjay yes, Cobee! Heard it was a hamstring.

Aug 27, 2025 10:13 PM #53

@dylans said in 2025 Chiefs:

I have yet to see any report of Pennel re-signing as expected. Not on any lists in about 5 sources I've checked. Last I counted, Chiefs have 16 on practice squad so he could well be the last one to sign.

Aug 28, 2025 01:40 AM #54

@rockchalkjayhawk Practice squad. He should never play.

Aug 28, 2025 02:11 AM #55

@Crimsonorblue22 Cobee just signed to be on Atlanta practice squad.

Aug 28, 2025 07:31 PM #56

Veach says Pennel could be back before or during season. They preferred Nnadi because he is 5 years younger, but they are still looking at DLs throughout the league. Hard to get good trades for KC because of both draft position (31) and no extra early round picks to entice other teams.

Aug 28, 2025 07:41 PM #57

Have we picked up any free agents yet?

Aug 28, 2025 08:40 PM #58

@rockchalkjayhawk Technically, everyone we cut who didn't have to go through waivers, but we then re-signed, was a free agent...temporarily. That is why I'm nervous about Pennel if they dawdle too much!

Aug 29, 2025 01:43 PM #59

@rockchalkjayhawk No free agents, since training camp started, have been added to the 53 man roster. Just some scrubs to the practice squad.

Anybody know if the Chargers game on YouTube will replay on YouTube soon after?
I can't watch live, so want to see what options i may have.

Sep 03, 2025 12:31 AM #62

@rockchalkjayhawk Does it require a subscription or just a conflict?

Sep 03, 2025 12:46 AM #63

No subscription required. It’s free to all. A first I think. But as a west coaster, I’ll still be working when it starts. So hoping to watch the game in its entirety somehow.

Sep 03, 2025 02:54 AM #64

Missed this yesterday: Mike Pennel signed to Bengals practice squad. No secret re-signing plan for him apparently.

Sep 03, 2025 12:58 PM #65

Just in case anybody needs the info (like me!)

The full game will likely be available for replay on the official NFL YouTube channel shortly after it concludes.

Happily anniverserary!

Sep 05, 2025 11:59 PM #72

Warching the Chiefs. They showed “Jimmy Donaldson” under MrBeast. Wonder if he is trying to rebrand himself or if thst was the networks decision. If the latter, it seems they missed the point in bringing him on.

Sep 06, 2025 12:10 AM #73

Ah....we're watching the fruits of playing the starters .022% of the preseason.

Sep 06, 2025 12:23 AM #74

Sorry but I think it was silly to give Bolton a big contract, he can not cover anyone in the passing game he’s so so slow

Sep 06, 2025 01:20 AM #75

Taylor has to be the stupidest or deafest lineman in history. Jumps EVERY play. Only called when it matters. Why do coaches put up with that nonsense?

Sep 06, 2025 01:23 AM #76

@DanR Andy Reid has a softer heart than me. I would have sent Taylor packing years ago. He's the worst part of every Chief's game for ne.

Sep 06, 2025 01:52 AM #77

Sonofabitch - 74 is single handedly going to lose this game for us.

Sep 06, 2025 02:35 AM #79

This passing defense is a joke, there is no one within 5 yards of these receivers half the time or more

Sep 06, 2025 02:36 AM #80

Wide open Chargers WRs all game long and hardly any separation from the Chiefs WRs. Not a good looking team so far.

Sep 06, 2025 02:38 AM #81

Sadly without a missed extra point they’d be okay but idk if there is time left for 2 scores now especially with this defense.

Sep 06, 2025 02:39 AM #82

Chiefs are rusty. Officials see no evil on Chargers side.

Sep 06, 2025 02:49 AM #83

@bskeet I don’t think the officials have been terrible outside the RTP in the first quarter and a guy getting to throw a punch without being ejected

Sep 06, 2025 02:52 AM #84

This team is gonna look like the chiefs from 2018 to 2020. Score 30 plus points or lose

Sep 06, 2025 03:04 AM #85

No reason to panic I think the chargers are a playoff team. I thought Mahomes played really well and the offense did pretty good for having Worthy get hurt right away. But man this defense needs a lot of work, the secondary and linebackers are absolutely terrible. A tight end or back can beat Bolton every single time. Better lock some butts in the film room after that.

Sep 06, 2025 03:40 AM #86

Really bummed. Pat can’t run like that every game either. No worthy or Rice hurts.

Sep 06, 2025 03:58 AM #87

To me two guys getting big paychecks on the defensive side of the ball did absolutely nothing in Jones and Bolton add in Jawaan Taylor offensively who I believe is the second highest paid player on the team that only got penalties. Can’t be paying guys big bucks to not do their job. All 3 should be on the trade block monday.

Sep 06, 2025 08:02 AM #88

Dang, that was generally unpleasant to watch.

I’ve pretty much had enough of No. 74 already.

I was pretty pissed at Kelce after just a few plays, too (his TD later made up for it). First he seemed to be a lazy ass and missed a key block on the outside that could have been a huge play for the Chiefs. Then he obviously nearly broke Worthy in half. I hope it’s not a season ender.

Are we already at that point where we have to score 30+ to win? Ugh.

Sep 06, 2025 10:25 AM #89

Defensive line is a massive issue. BaĂ d

Sep 06, 2025 12:49 PM #90

I can no longer take this team seriously. When you play a lineman (74) who intentionally sabotages every single offensive play....it's a travesty.

Sep 06, 2025 04:02 PM #91

Were any of you Chief fans upset they started their season in Brazil? I know it was the Chargers home game they lost but I'd still be a bit puzzled by the decision. Goodell is a good commissioner but I'm guessing he's starting to alienate a lot of people with his streaming games decisions and overseas games decisions.

Sep 06, 2025 04:45 PM #92

@wissox at least it was free

Sep 06, 2025 05:08 PM #93

Ha, what a struggle I had last night trying to watch a replay of the game on YouTube after work — without seeing the score!

But the real laughable part Was that after I gave up searching around, I went back to my YouTube TV service, and BAM, they must have aired the game live! Ha, after all that, go figure.

Sep 06, 2025 06:31 PM #94

I've got a bit of anxiety about this one: last year it took a month for the doctors to realize H Brown needed surgery on his injury after initially expecting it to heal but the clavicle bones were healing out of alignment. Hope they track this one better!.

Sep 09, 2025 11:38 AM #114

Worthy has a dislocated shoulder and has the dreaded day to day designation.

The D-line didn’t apply any pressure and I could have hit most of those throws the receivers were so open. It was pathetic the coverage that Chamari Conners (and others) provided. Why can’t Chiefs receivers get any separation?!? (Nagy sucks!!!)

Sep 14, 2025 07:03 PM #115

Ugh, this isn't gonna end well for Worthy.

Specifics on Worthy’s injury had not surfaced until Sunday, but NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports the Kansas City wideout is battling a fully torn labrum. Rather than undergo surgery, Worthy will attempt to play through the injury by using a harness.

Sep 14, 2025 08:20 PM #116

@rockchalkjayhawk Ugg even a minor shoulder surgery absolutely sucks. Extremely painful and long recovery.

Sep 14, 2025 09:09 PM #117

Mahomes is gonna get killed!😱

Sep 14, 2025 09:30 PM #118

@Crimsonorblue22 absolutely. If he's our leading rusher, we are screwed.

Sep 14, 2025 09:36 PM #119

Mahomes is the only source of offense right now and I agree. We are gonna fart around and get him hurt.

Sep 14, 2025 09:42 PM #120

Fuuudge

Sep 14, 2025 09:45 PM #121

No reason in running that, I’m okay with going for it but the lack of running game is so detrimental to this team and was in the Super Bowl. You can’t take the air out of the ball and go on a long drive to give the D a rest.

Sep 14, 2025 09:52 PM #122

Jeez. Not sure why u give up points like that. Weird call to go for it.

Sep 14, 2025 09:52 PM #123

Also the way Mahomes has had to use his legs in these first two games, you may as well do a QB sneak in those situations

Sep 14, 2025 09:56 PM #124

Did Mahomes shrink in the offseason? He’s had his share of batted down passes this year.

Sep 14, 2025 10:18 PM #125

Hey we got a 4th and 1 running the ball, play call was much better.

Like I just told my son, the run is going to end at some point. Kelce/Jones are old and just not the players they once were. The O-line is average on the best day and the defense is much of the same.

I think the Eagles are just a better team. So, not predicting the end just yet. Other than the drop, no complaints about Kelce today. If he doesn't drop it, we're in the lead.

Sep 14, 2025 11:00 PM #140

I also don’t think the eagles are a much better team, they have played mistake free today for the most part. The pick should’ve been a touchdown and Butker missed a FG.

I watched the cowboys game and it’s crazy to watch other WRs get separation and catch the football. The chiefs had 4 drops today. I believe the giants and cowboys had 2 combined. The chiefs have lead the NFL in drops 2 of the last 3 years right in pace to start the season. We need to draft lineman and WRs

Sep 15, 2025 12:17 AM #145

Like Brady was saying and I've heard from many others ----KC has NO vertical deep threat and no I'm not counting KC's last score as a deep threat.

With their personell they have to nickel and dime their way down a long field and that is not going to take to much time of the clock.
It doesn't help when officals give a good screwin twice in a row - - - -- That dam push tush needs to be stopped.- ---a lot of talk about Hill possibly coming back via trade --- KC better hope so

Sep 15, 2025 12:54 AM #146

@SlimShaddy54 the chiefs have zero threat at WR without Worthy and Rice. The truth be told even with them healthy that ain’t a top 15 receiver room in the NFL. I’d take Miami, Dallas, Philly, Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Denver, LA both clubs, Green Bay’s receiver room over KCs all day every day. The problem is it’s been the same problem for the last few seasons and it hasn’t ever been really addressed. Smith fighting and making that catch on 3rd and 10 was a huge play and one that I haven’t seen a KC receiver make since Hill was on the team. That ball should’ve been picked

Sep 15, 2025 12:54 AM #147

@kjayhawks Besides the fact that he can't hit an open target anymore? He throws most passes in the dirt (astrodirt) or 5 feet over their heads. The few passes that are on target get dropped.

Sep 15, 2025 12:58 AM #148

@nuleafjhawk that tends to happen when you are running for your life everytime you drop back. Imagine this team with Tom Brady, dude would get sacked 8-10 times a game.

Hollywood was supposed to be our quick guy. our deep threat. what happened to that? Is he just having to play out of position with all our injuries?

Sep 15, 2025 01:34 AM #150

@rockchalkjayhawk I don’t know that I’ve seen anything from Hollywood in his career that makes me think of a deep guy. He can be useful in the slot and underneath with the guys around him. He has had trouble staying healthy and hasn’t ever been a number 1 guy IMO. If not mistaken he’s in his 7th year and only played 2 complete seasons. One of those years he barely got over a 1k yards with 1,008. Just not a go to guy to me.

Sep 15, 2025 01:39 AM #151

I honestly wonder if Matt Nagy isn’t a good chunk of the issue. Hard to tell for sure because everyone claims Reid calls the plays but ever since he came back to town, the offense hasn’t looked the same.

Sep 15, 2025 02:16 AM #152

Hollywood had some really nice catches in some tight spots today

Yea, i'm pretty sure that was the intent when signing him. For the deep ball. Apparently Lamar wasn't very accurate with the deep toss, so maybe that's why he never seemed a huge threat with his speed and supposed ability to separate. Nor was Kyler Murray.

Anyways, i think with all the weird injuries on the Chiefs and his other teams, he's never really fulfilled that spot very well.

I hope when the Chiefs have a full compliment of WRs he can step into that role sometimes.

Sep 15, 2025 01:34 PM #154

To me it starts with getting the run game going. You are down several receivers and Mahomes pretty much has to be absolutely prefect just to give the team a chance. To me watching the eagles play it’s just polar opposites. Eagles have one of the best lines and RBs in the league. Hurts doesn’t have to do anything special, mahomes has to everytime he puts on his helmet.

Sep 15, 2025 05:42 PM #155

Chiefs can’t run the ball

We have seen it in the first two games

Mahomes is your leading rusher by far margin

Our RBs are just not good enough

Sep 15, 2025 05:54 PM #156

@AsadZ could it be our line is a problem?

Sep 15, 2025 06:27 PM #157

Our team is not perfect but they will be fine. They just outplayed the defending champs without WR1 and WR2.

Sep 15, 2025 06:28 PM #158

In his first two years, 2019-20, HBrown had long receptions for TDs several times and averaged over 12.5 and 13.3 yds respectively. However, since then he has not averaged over 11.3 or had a reception over 49 yds. The Chiefs had Rice to stretch the field anticipating having a speedy Worthy, and added Brown mostly for midrange possession receptions. That plan fell apart with his injury and Rice's injury, forcing Worthy into Rice's role. The long passes last year were few and far between because of the OL breakdowns that also led to PM sometimes breaking the pocket early. No one had the deep role until Worthy late in the season, and he showed major chops in the SB 2nd half (set a rookie record for yds in a SB by more than 60). HBrown was of minimal use last year after coming back.

@kjayhawks I don't hate Mahomes, btw. What I do hate is this:

Patrick Mahomes owns minority stakes in several professional sports teams, including the Kansas City Royals (MLB), Sporting Kansas City (MLS), the Kansas City Current (NWSL), and the Alpine Formula 1 team. He also co-owns a Whataburger franchise in Kansas City and founded his own foundation, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation. Additionally, he has investments in sports recovery companies and a stake in Throne Coffee.

He's way too busy and distracted to give a crap about the job that enables him to do all these other things. Factor in that TS is a global distraction for everyone and - IN MY NON HATING opinion - they've been to their last Super Bowl.

Sep 16, 2025 01:06 AM #160

@nuleafjhawk Britney had the audacity to drop a kid out during one of those Super Bowl runs, right during the playoffs! I think he’ll be ok - the guy looks to be in the best shape coming into the season that we’ve seen yet. Mahomes the only thing on the team you don’t have to worry about. You can nit pick for sure, but worry? Nah. This team will be solid by playoffs.

Sep 16, 2025 01:21 AM #161

@nuleafjhawk I highly doubt he has any day to day duties of those businesses you mentioned. He is a silent partner in most of those but he’s ain’t in there everyday running things.

Sep 16, 2025 03:15 AM #162

@kjayhawks I was giving him the benefit of the doubt by saying that he's distracted. The other option is that he can't pass anymore I guess the Chiefs could always make him the featured running back. 🙄

Sep 16, 2025 12:34 PM #163

@Crimsonorblue22 I don't think so, our RBs run hard but do not have burst and cant seem to do good job of reading angles and holes.

@nuleafjhawk said in 2025 Chiefs:

Mahomes deep ball has never been good in my opinion. Tyreek just made such smooth adjustments it looked good. Tyreek would make a great center fielder with his ball tracking ability. I see a little of that with Worthy, but not the field awareness yet. Hopefully Worthy can play close to 100% at some point this year, I’m not sure how his injury will affect his play - could be ugly.

Sep 16, 2025 12:56 PM #165

@dylans admittedly, I'm frustrated with the start of this season. But, IMO, there's something wrong with Mahomes. I don't know what it is, but if someone watches the Chiefs - even last season - he either throws the ball in the ground, over the receiver's head, or behind the receiver. He rarely throws a clean, well timed ball anymore. True, he's running for his life most of the time, but that's a problem for Reid.

Sep 16, 2025 01:05 PM #166

@nuleafjhawk It’s his footwork. It’s terrible. But Mahomes is the only source of offense. The running backs suck hind tit - Pacheco is terrible, he runs hard right into his own blockers - maybe he needs glasses. Hunt is washed, at this point I might be faster. Mitchell hasn’t even found the field and Smith is more of a pass catcher. The WRs are injured or just complimentary players - Rice is amazing, but unavailable. Worthy is coming into his own, but Kelce may have ruined his career. Kelce is old and slow. Juju is in his 20s and slow. Hollywood is a good 3rd receiver, but as the featured guy he is limited. Remigio is a returner. Brownlee can’t find his way to the field.

Butker lost both those games. If he hits the extra point against the Chargers the game is tied late and goes to overtime. If he makes that field goal against the Iggles that is the margin as well.

Against Philly if Kelce catches that TD KC wins. If Reid doesn’t go for it on 4th down and just punts, that was the margin of the game.

KC will be fine. Mahomes can be better, but he’s the only reason they’re even in these games. The rest of the team looks bush league. Spags better figure out how to hide Chamarri Connors - that guy is a huge liability. Nagy needs to fix Taylor - his penalties are drive killers.

Take Mahomes off this team and they win maybe 5 games.

Sep 16, 2025 03:47 PM #167

@nuleafjhawk hard to disagree with with assumption that Mahomes has been a little off. But I still think the guys around him are a source of the issue. Tyreek would go get the ball. Look at AJ Browns catch for the eagles Sunday, when was the last time a Chiefs receiver did that?or the catch Smith had for them. The Chiefs receivers don’t go get the ball IMO is some of the issue. I also think the scheme isn’t working anymore. Chiefs run too many rub plays to get open they don’t have any great route runners that can get separation on their own. Some time I think it’s low because it’s the best spot for it not to get picked. Add in the fact the offensive line sucks

Sep 16, 2025 04:19 PM #168

It looks like Mahomes deep ball accuracy is poor. 1/4 connect. …so throw 4 deep balls per possession, they do eventually connect. I suspect there would be a higher completion percentage on deep passes if they threw more.

Sep 16, 2025 06:01 PM #169

That first missed TD to Thornton is one that Mahomes needs to connect on 9 times out of 10. I think that he is so focused on bringing the deep ball back to the offense that he psyches himself out whenever he actually throws one, which reduces his accuracy.

Sep 16, 2025 06:54 PM #170

Poor Chiefs. They need to figure out a way to win despite the missing pieces they are dealing with.

A simple way is to get the ground game going. But, that seems like a long shot. The Chiefs have ranked basically middle of the pack or worse in the last five years in yards per game. None of the RBs on the roster seem exceptional.

The Chiefs are all about Mahomes. And if he's missing toys to play with, maybe a new offensive game plan is in order.

If receiving options are limited, I'd like to see them use Noah Gray more at the very least. he seems to come through when needed.

Sep 16, 2025 09:33 PM #171

Ha, what do i know!!??

i was just reading a story about the Chiefs and their offensive woes, and of course they blame Noah Gray for some of the faulty plays!

Thinking my prediction was much much closer than yours unfortunately Butker wasn’t on tonight or I’m perfect. Watch Wilson close that’s a washed up QB buddy

Sep 22, 2025 03:18 AM #213

I’m still thinking the Chiefs drop one to the ravens next week but if they can go 3-3 to start this season with the injures they’ve had. I think they be alright when the time comes. Defense looked pretty salty for the most part tonight. The timing is just not right with receivers right now, you’d think that would improve going forward.

Sep 22, 2025 11:45 AM #214

@kjayhawks The defense has been very, very good! I know you think I hate Mahomes (I don't) but objectively, he's near the bottom of the pile of NFL QB's so far this season. He's just not using his head. Overthrows, underthrows, backwards passes - how many other NFL (shoot, add college in there too) QB's threw backwards passes this weekend? Probably zero. But PM threw TWO of them! That easily could have cost us the game. He needs to get his head on straight.

Sep 22, 2025 12:17 PM #215

@nuleafjhawk I genuinely wonder what the heck he was thinking on those backwards passes. It was strange

Sep 22, 2025 03:58 PM #216

Mahomes has been playing all season with a weird mix of classic Mahomes great plays and awful mistakes. He, along with the rest of the team, needs to clean up on the self-inflicted wounds.

The defense was great. The Giants lead the NFL in passing offense and we completely shut them down.

I am a genius for drafting Scattebo onto my fantasy team. I started him and he helped me win this week.

Sep 22, 2025 04:07 PM #217

@kjayhawks it really was!

Sep 23, 2025 03:20 AM #218

The Ravens just allowed the Lions to run roughshod all over them and allowed Lamar to take 7 sacks. If we can run the ball well and get some pressure I like our chances. If we fail to do either of those I think Baltimore blows us out.

Sep 23, 2025 04:14 AM #219

Run the ball well?

Sep 28, 2025 07:11 PM #220

Nice to the offense explode for the first time in a few years. Having Worthy back has helped a ton and he’s starting to get rhythm with Thornton. Mahomes becomes the fastest player to pass for 250 touchdowns. Remember he’s doing this with 2 of his top WRs as guys that other NFL teams cut and said they weren’t good enough to play at this level.

Sep 28, 2025 11:26 PM #229

Butker changed his kicking motion. Butker no longer goes down on one knee when he kicks. Hopefully this change doesn’t ruin him. If the misses get in his head, he’s done for.

Sep 29, 2025 03:06 PM #235

@Jhawk69 I still think if we can get thru the first 6 weeks without Rice and only having Worthy for 3 games at a 3-3 or 4-2. We will be in good shape going forward for the divisional match up.

Sep 30, 2025 06:51 PM #236

I guess it was knee not ankle. Did he have a minor surgery on it or did he just rest it for awhile, last yr? Can’t remember. Thinking rest.

Oct 01, 2025 01:30 PM #239

Harrison has definitely been a low spot thus far but I think he’ll have it turned around. I think his mechanics are a little off. If the chiefs need a big kick for the win, I trust him.

Oct 01, 2025 05:36 PM #240

Kicking is so mental. You have to know the mechanics of course, but other than that it is 100% mental. Harrison doesn't have whatever mojo he needs but once he gets a good kicking game or two in he'll turn it around

Oct 01, 2025 07:55 PM #241

@Jhawk69 Kicking sounds like golf. When I first started golfing in my mid 20's I was actually very good. Because of that, i was obsessed with golf. I literally played every day for 3 years. About year two, I started listening to people I golfed with. "Hold your hands this way. Put your right foot in and shake it all about" Instead of doing what I'd been doing, I let their words of "advice" get in my head and I was done. I literally threw a few clubs in the pond and haven't golfed since 1987.

@nuleafjhawk said in 2025 Chiefs:

Ah, the wonderful game of golf! So, he asks sweetly 🙃, would it be fair to infer you were angry, or were you perhaps trying to wash them?

Oct 01, 2025 10:25 PM #243

@mayjay Yes, I was washing them. Lol

Oct 03, 2025 06:40 PM #244

After looking at more video of Butker, I’d say his misses are likely attributable to his new mechanics. On the 59 yard, no time to think about it, fire drill FG Butker went down on one knee like he used to and nailed that kick. He just needs to get things smoothed out while staying upright. This needs to be fixed in the regular season and I think it can be. 🤞

Oct 03, 2025 10:04 PM #245

I'm really not sweating Butker too much. He does miss a bunny or two each year, and an extra point.
otherwise all but one of his misses have been from 50+. The other 40+.

Oct 07, 2025 12:50 AM #246

Man this is fun to watch when they protect Mahomes

Oct 07, 2025 12:52 AM #247

Not a fan of joe buck or Troy aikman! Chiefs looking good! Clearly the 🏈 didn’t break the plane!

Oct 07, 2025 12:52 AM #248

Backs r looking good

Oct 07, 2025 12:54 AM #249

This team definitely has some swagger back and I haven’t seen them having fun like this since early 2023

Oct 07, 2025 12:58 AM #250

Is this the Hunter from Co?

Oct 07, 2025 01:00 AM #251

I could’ve had that

Oct 07, 2025 01:57 AM #252

Not so fun now

Oct 07, 2025 01:57 AM #253

If anyone is still wondering why I'm not a big Mahomes cheerleader.....

Oct 07, 2025 01:58 AM #254

@nuleafjhawk The reigning AFC player of the week? The guy who’s going to author another 4th quarter comeback? Oh ye of little faith.

Oct 07, 2025 02:05 AM #255

@dylans lol. The Chiefs have won the last game they ever will win. Done. Finished. Washed up.

Oct 07, 2025 02:10 AM #256

@nuleafjhawk Spoken like a KU football fan. It’s cool. I get it.

Oct 07, 2025 02:10 AM #257

@nuleafjhawk only difference between Mahomes and Lawrence this game is the chiefs drop his pick and had 3 guys get their hands on it.

Oct 07, 2025 02:14 AM #258

Now we go

Oct 07, 2025 02:15 AM #259

Come on @nuleafjhawk lawrence just threw
A pick after a fumble inside the one he must be the worst QB in NFL. No other QB has any picks this year

Oct 07, 2025 02:20 AM #260

How many does Patrick have

Oct 07, 2025 02:23 AM #261

It’s 1 this yr

Oct 07, 2025 02:29 AM #262

@dylans except KU is 4-2 and KC will be 2-3 in about 20 minutes

Oct 07, 2025 02:54 AM #263

@nuleafjhawk one team wins games of consequence. The other needs to enjoy regular season wins. Enjoy the loss, it looks like you’re correct. Yay!

Oct 07, 2025 02:56 AM #264

Ok. I’m ready to fire Butker. His misfires are in one way or another responsible for all the Chiefs L’s

Oct 07, 2025 02:57 AM #265

43 cost us

Oct 07, 2025 02:57 AM #266

Hits him in the helmet

Oct 07, 2025 02:58 AM #267

Hmm.

Recipe for losing:

Your QB is your leading rusher (again)

Can't block. Can't tackle. Can't throw on target. Can't catch. (offense and defense)

Have 100 penalties per game.

Oct 07, 2025 02:59 AM #268

@nuleafjhawk don’t watch

Oct 07, 2025 02:59 AM #269

@Crimsonorblue22 don't worry about it

Oct 07, 2025 03:03 AM #270

Penalties were a prob but man I don’t like several of the calls on those special team holding. Defense couldn’t stop them in the second half when they needed too. Still think going 3-3 in the 6 is fine with the injuries and Rice out.

Oct 07, 2025 03:04 AM #271

@nuleafjhawk Mahomes completed 70% of his passes. He didn’t have the penalties

Oct 07, 2025 03:06 AM #272

Bummer. On to the next game.

Oct 07, 2025 03:07 AM #273

@kjayhawks They lost. I never blamed it solely on Mahomes. It was a complete team "effort"

Oct 07, 2025 03:18 AM #274

@nuleafjhawk they could definitely share some of the blame but special teams defense were more of an issue tonight imo I believe the offense had two penalties. Odd that the Jags were the most penalized team in the NFL today was their best performance in that department. I’ve thought pro sports were rigged for decades and nights like tonight I think prove it several phantom calls on one team and refusal to call penalties on another.

Oct 07, 2025 03:25 AM #275

@kjayhawks I agree. No one will ever convince me that officiating is ever fair and impartial. As a fan it sounds whiney to blame a game on the refs, but I think the zebras have an incredible amount of influence on the outcome of games.

Also, for whomever is reading, I have been a lifelong Chiefs fan and I get a little out of sorts when they play terrible and stupid. So - sorry.

Oct 07, 2025 03:34 AM #276

@nuleafjhawk I’ve been a chiefs fan forever as well so I don’t get too worked up. We have 3 Super Bowl titles in 5 years. If the run ends, it ends. But too many retired officials have came forward saying games are rigged for the spread. If anyone was as bad at those jobs as half the officials, they’d be fired.

Oct 07, 2025 05:22 AM #277

Grr. Stupid Chiefs.

Hardy anything worse than losing to the Jaguars.

A massive self implosion tonight.

I was all good with Butker before the game, but that kick off out of bounds was a just a killer. I can't even fathom how he'd be even close to the sideline in that game situation. maddening.

Mahomes got away with more than a few risky passes tonight. That pick was amateur hour though.

Hats off to Trevor Lawrence. If the Chiefs refused to attempt to contain him, why not take advantage? And he did. Boo defense!

I thought Pacheco had some good, violent running tonight. That's a good sign.

And a tiny bit of life from Kelce! Maybe Taylor was out of town this week ...

Finally, for those of you insistent that the NFL refs are rigging games ... c'mon, man.

Oct 07, 2025 12:32 PM #278

Self implosion

So many mistakes

Oct 07, 2025 01:01 PM #279

@rockchalkjayhawk my problem is everyone knows you can call holding on every play if you look close enough. When you have a bunch on one side, several of which looked pretty iffy and then 1 on the other team it makes a guy wonder.

Oct 07, 2025 05:39 PM #280

Very bad effort on defense. This Jaguars offense has not been great this year, and they walked all over us for three quarters

Oct 10, 2025 03:41 AM #281

Not sure how good or bad to feel about the Chiefs’ season so far. It’s never good to be sub-500, although we’ve played some good teams. Lost a few we shouldn’t have lost probably, too.

The easy thing to do is blame the lack of starting WRs, which is reasonable of course.

We beat the Giants, who beat the Eagles, who we lost to. Same kinda deal with the Chargers, beating KC but losing to the Giants. Weird.

I think they have to cut down on some mistakes. And the sked looks tough the next few months!

Oct 10, 2025 12:54 PM #282

@rockchalkjayhawk We beat the Russell Wilson Giants. The Jaxson Dart Giants seem significantly better. (And I still wish we had Skattebo)

Oct 10, 2025 01:28 PM #283

People forget that there are not very many “bad” teams in the nfl and the margin for error is fractional. The chiefs are prime examples of such, 2-3 isn’t great but they are 5 plays from being 5-0. I think they still have a great shot at the playoffs and division. Bills have a cake walk schedule so I don’t see them not being a 1 seed. Getting to play Miami and the jets twice really helps a team just like it did
Brady for decades.

Oct 10, 2025 03:23 PM #284

We have a Super Bowl caliber roster but we are about to be 2-4 most likely. After losing to the Lions we need to rip off at least 4-5 wins in a row

Oct 10, 2025 03:50 PM #285

@nuleafjhawk I wanted Skattebo too. He’s a beast!

Oct 13, 2025 12:21 AM #286

Simmons out

Oct 13, 2025 12:32 AM #287

I have been Butker's biggest fan and supporter from day one. I'm not now. Boot his ass and get the dude from Dallas.

Oct 13, 2025 12:35 AM #288

Buttkicker stinks!

Oct 13, 2025 12:58 AM #289

Good thing we're not playing a talented, healthy Detroit secondary 🙄

Oct 13, 2025 01:17 AM #290

Hey! He made one!😳

Oct 13, 2025 01:58 AM #291

I know the chiefs lost a close one to the jags last week but the offense is starting to click right now. The defense and special teams are a work in progress.

Oct 13, 2025 02:37 AM #292

D looks better 2nd half, sp teams much better, not as many flags! Patrick connecting w/his buddy and Hollywood B. and others too. Rice back next week? Yes! Pacheco looking good. 💪🏼

Oct 13, 2025 01:30 PM #293

@Crimsonorblue22 I feel like a Spags defense always starts slow especially with some of the new guys in the secondary but they usually are pretty salty by mid season.

Oct 13, 2025 01:34 PM #294

@kjayhawks said in 2025 Chiefs:

I know the chiefs lost a close one to the jags last week but the offense is starting to click right now. The defense and special teams are a work in progress.

Last three weeks they are looking pretty good. Rice coming back is massive. Smoke the Raiders please

Oct 13, 2025 05:55 PM #295

Oddly i never had a bad feeling about last night's game, even after the Detroit opening drive. Thought it was a win from the start. Chiefs seemed pretty calm and collected. With Detroit's injury woes, i did think we'd take more deep shots, but we hit the magic 30 points scored number, so all good.

Hoping we don't hear devastating news about our left tackle...

Oct 13, 2025 09:19 PM #296

@rockchalkjayhawk Simmons was in California for a personal matter. I don’t like it, but am reserving judgement until a reason is given. I don’t believe he is injured, so hopefully good news. Also it looked like Moore just put Taylor on notice. RT of the future I’d suppose at this point.

Hope Josh Simmons and/or his family is ok! 🙏

Oct 19, 2025 07:41 PM #304

Sure wish that washed up Mahomes would pay attention to football.

/S

Oct 19, 2025 10:34 PM #305

I've been telling you folks all season - "Don't give up on Mahomes, he's the best in the world " Hopefully you will all get on board with me now.... 🤷‍♂️

Oct 19, 2025 11:04 PM #306

@nuleafjhawk makes me laugh the amount of drugs and drinking the people that claim he is washed twice a year. Dudes worst year he won the division and played in the conference championship game. Mahomes last 5 games has 69% completion percentage, nearly 1400 yards with 14 touchdowns and 1 INT. Thats best in the NFL if anyone was wondering.

Oct 20, 2025 01:52 AM #307

What makes Mahomes better than Burrow and Allen? He won a championship 2 years ago with MVS, Hardman and Toney. Last I knew all 3 guys are sitting at home today.

Oct 20, 2025 04:52 AM #308

Mahomes has a competitive edge and winning instincts that nobody else in the league has. The same thing that set Michael Jordan apart

Oct 20, 2025 12:48 PM #309

That performance by the Raiders might be the most lifeless I have ever witnessed from an NFL team.

Oct 20, 2025 01:29 PM #310

@Jhawk69 that’s what makes it fun to watch even if it’s a bad game. Mahomes has 2 or 3 plays just about every week that prove he’s pretty much one of one. No look to Rice yesterday and then the throw to Worthy when he was almost out with 3 guys on him running full speed and throwing across his body for a completion is tough.

Oct 20, 2025 06:18 PM #311

@kjayhawks said in 2025 Chiefs:

. . . . MVS, Hardman and Toney. Last I knew all 3 guys are sitting at home today.

MVS went on the 49ers injured reserve list 3 days ago. Not that he was tearing up the league...just 4 receptions for 40 yds when injured. GB cut Hardman before the season. Toney was cut by the Browns last December. Arrested in February on assault charges among other things.

Of these, I like MVS and Hardman best!

Oct 20, 2025 06:23 PM #312

Omar Norman Lott tore his acl and it out for the season. We need to trade for another DT.

Oct 20, 2025 07:43 PM #313

dang

Oct 21, 2025 03:44 PM #314

@mayjay for sure wasn’t a knock but when you win a Super Bowl with guys that are struggling to make a rosters a few years later it’s speaking volumes of what you did imo. Kinda like me saying Mahomes start slow without Rice and Worthy was okay because you had Thornton and Juju who couldn’t make the pats roster. The line without Simmons has looked solid and will continue to improve if he comes back and Mahomes has weapons so we get to just watch him roll. Every great QBs has weapons Pat did a lot with less IMO the last few years.

Oct 28, 2025 03:01 AM #315

Pretty slow start with some turnovers but another solid victory. We will find a lot the next games for KC being @buffalo, @ Denver and Indy at home. With how Denver and LA keep winning. They really need to win all 3 of these games. Pretty much can’t afford a loss to a AFC team especially one in the division.

Oct 28, 2025 03:09 AM #316

Weird week for the NFL with seven 20 plus point wins and only one game was won by a single possession. The rest were all double digits, feel like that’s doesn’t happen much at this level.

Oct 28, 2025 12:55 PM #317

@kjayhawks It is quite rare

Oct 29, 2025 09:19 PM #318

@mayjay said in 2025 Chiefs :

Missed this yesterday: Mike Pennel signed to Bengals practice squad. No secret re-signing plan for him apparently.

That was written before game 1. He's back! Maybe it was an 8-week plan...

Nov 02, 2025 05:12 PM #319

Should be a fun game today. Wide range of outcomes on the table imo. I'll be watching the game at a church event. Some football and fellowship.

Nov 02, 2025 05:40 PM #320

Good event!

Nov 02, 2025 09:53 PM #322

@mayjay it’s better now, so far

Nov 02, 2025 09:56 PM #323

Scratch that

Nov 02, 2025 10:07 PM #324

What about our trusty Kareem ?

Nov 02, 2025 10:11 PM #325

The Bills always beat the chiefs in the regular season

Nov 02, 2025 10:28 PM #326

Getting stopped at then3 inch line is killer

Nov 02, 2025 10:31 PM #327

Well dang. Now I wish Hollywood would’ve scored.

Nov 02, 2025 11:15 PM #328

The Bills are better in the trenches and have a better secondary.

Nov 02, 2025 11:17 PM #329

Wasn’t expecting a win today, but there’s still a chance.

Nov 02, 2025 11:31 PM #330

@Crimsonorblue22 I'm watching. Keeping quiet because I like you.

Nov 02, 2025 11:34 PM #331

Nov 02, 2025 11:37 PM #334

Pretty nice series right there!

Nov 02, 2025 11:38 PM #335

What a flop

Nov 02, 2025 11:52 PM #336

🤐

Nov 02, 2025 11:59 PM #337

Chiefs did not play to their standard today

Nov 03, 2025 12:07 AM #338

Both the offensive and defensive lines stayed in KC

Nov 03, 2025 01:14 AM #339

Chris Jones sighting today?

Nov 03, 2025 01:54 AM #340

And i'll just bring up the same issue i've had since before Week 1...what the heck is up with RB Elijah Mitchell????

Not that it mattered much, but we call up CEH before him? This is puzzling.

Nov 03, 2025 03:02 AM #341

@rockchalkjayhawk Chris Jones needs to be on the trade block at this point. He is one of the highest paid players at his position and has been garbage for 2.5 years. I also have zero idea why CEH is back. He was never better than average. You could make the case him and Sky Moore are the worst draft picks in the last decade for KC. I’m not super worried at this point but the next 2 games are now absolute must wins and they likely can’t lose more than maybe 2 games from here on out if they want to make the playoffs.

Nov 03, 2025 04:50 AM #342

I’m gonna guess the Chiefs go 6-2 the rest of the way. Wishful thinking, but possible.

The Broncos could go 3-5, which would leave KC a game ahead in the standings.

Haven’t checked out the Chargers sked.

Nov 03, 2025 01:04 PM #343

Bears and Bengals was a fun game to watch

Nov 03, 2025 01:22 PM #344

@rockchalkjayhawk Need the oline to get healthy/return from their spiritual journey (or w/e Simmons is doing)

Nov 03, 2025 03:03 PM #345

@mayjay The food was good, at least

Nov 03, 2025 03:18 PM #346

I feel like Andy uses the regular season Bills game to set them up later. - same look different play next meeting. Seems to be a good formula for post season success. 5-4 is not ideal though.

Nov 03, 2025 06:40 PM #347

The question becomes with the trade deadline looming what does KC do? I feel like they either need to upgrade the D line or get a running back. The defensive line has turned into the receiving corps from the last two years. We are filled up with guys that got cut elsewhere and couldn’t make rosters with Charles O, Pennel and company. The difference in the game yesterday was the Bills had time to throw the ball and have a great RB. The chiefs have neither of those two things at the moment.

Nov 04, 2025 01:17 PM #348

D Line

Nov 04, 2025 07:12 PM #349

I don't think the Chiefs will do anything. They probably think that when healthy this roster is good enough to make a Super Bowl run and that there is no reason to short-change our draft capital. I would personally trade for a high-impact D-lineman.

Nov 04, 2025 07:36 PM #350

@Jhawk69 Jerry Jones is running up the price! A fool and his draft capital…

Nov 04, 2025 08:58 PM #351

looks like a quiet day for the Chiefs. good and bad.
I think they need some reinforcements. Can't waste generational talent like Mahomes and risk not making the playoffs.

Nov 04, 2025 09:13 PM #352

For one thing, I understand not hitting the panic button. KC is a good team (probably the best 5-4 team of all time) and its wise not to let the bitter aftertaste of a game we were always going to lose (I mean c'mon, its the Bills in the regular season) sucker us into paying too much in a trade.

On the other hand, I really don’t see our defensive line being able to do anything against any good o-lines, which will hurt us in the playoffs (if we even make it).

Nov 05, 2025 03:16 AM #353

Looks like a late veteran addition when someone asks out of their contract to play for a contender. The Chiefs cap for next year is f’d already so there really is no room for any big additions without subtractions next year. - over the cap about 42 mil. with only 36 players signed or some nonsense. Hope the cap goes up more than expected. Taylor is likely to get cut. Not sure who else. Bank of Mahomes will be tapped into he has a 78mil cap hit - untenable.

Nov 05, 2025 03:37 AM #354

Supposedly the chiefs contacted the Jets about Hall but was only willing to give a 4th round pick. The jets wanted a third rounder. I would’ve gave it and the 4th rounder for Max Crosby. I would’ve done both if those deals, the chiefs have failed at the draft IMO the last few years. Believe Hicks, Simmons and Worthy are the only guys playing from the last 2 drafts.

Nov 06, 2025 01:10 PM #355

@kjayhawks Summataya (LG)

Nov 07, 2025 02:28 PM #356

Broncos are turning to the chiefs of last season. Winning games they have zero business doing so.

Nov 07, 2025 09:35 PM #357

@kjayhawks I watched that garbage last night and thought the same thing. I thought even the Chiefs could have beaten them last night.

Nov 17, 2025 12:18 AM #358

I think the Chiefs have a chance to be very good next year if they take reinforcing the trenches seriously in the offseason. This season they will not make the playoffs.

Nov 17, 2025 12:18 AM #359

This is simply a bad football team.

Nov 17, 2025 12:19 AM #360

Next year will be worse. The cap situation is disastrous.

Nov 17, 2025 12:24 AM #361

I don't think they are a bad team. I think they are average or slightly above average with a very tough schedule, which is not a good recipe for a playoff berth.

Nov 17, 2025 12:33 AM #362

https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/kansas-city-chiefs ↗

42.7 mil over the the ‘26 cap with only 36 players signed so every dollar added goes against the cap. Next year will swing heavily depending on the draft. Veach needs another 2022 esq draft or 2026 will be brutal with all the cuts, restructures needed to clear space to retain their own free agents (McDuffie, Watson, Kelce etc), and a lack of impact free agents being affordable. Veach better hit a homerun.

Nov 17, 2025 12:34 AM #363

Yea brutal sked. Unfortunate injuries and “personal matters”. And not as sharp as past years for sure, But this is by no means a bad football team.

With virtually no threat to succeed in the running game, they can be predictable and pressured.

Denver is good though.

Disappointing.

Nov 17, 2025 12:41 AM #364

I put this on Veach, had opportunities before the trade deadline and did nothing. This team isn’t great by any stretch of imagination. They are just average, pending on the rest of the year they maybe be able to squeak into the playoffs. But that was nail in the coffin for the division. 9 years in a row is tough to do, just like KUs 14 straight. It was great but can’t last forever

Nov 17, 2025 12:52 AM #365

Overpaying Taylor, Chris Jones, and Harrison Butker didn't help either

Nov 17, 2025 12:58 AM #366

@Jhawk69 play calling was laughable, no idea why they didn’t try to run the ball more especially up with 4 minutes to go.

Nov 17, 2025 01:02 AM #367

@kjayhawks Yeah, plus multiple chances to get a stop on 3rd down and no pressure being dialed up, which allowed Nix to stand calmly in the pocket and wait for an inevitable first down throw to open up.

Nov 17, 2025 01:10 AM #368

@Jhawk69 yep like KUs defense on Saturday’s giving up multiple 3rd and 8 plus yards. The defense line is garbage.

Nov 17, 2025 02:00 AM #369

I was getting fired up to check the boxscore to blame penalties for the loss...but then i saw the Broncos penalties and that excuse fell out the window!

Chiefs: 10 penalties for 69 yards

Broncos: 10 penalties for 147 yards

Nov 17, 2025 02:21 AM #370

7-1 our last 8. Life is good for @wissox and I! Ben Johnson is so good.

KU football is consistently winning 5 games a year…. What did it cost? Me looks at the chiefs and KU basketball….everything lol

Nov 17, 2025 03:55 AM #374

@FarmerJayhawk Enjoying the ride, while trying not to suffer a coronary! TBH, the whole thing could come crashing down with the difficult part of the schedule looming. But just even being still interested in pro football this time of year is fun.

I was getting fired up to check the boxscore to blame penalties for the loss...but then i saw the Broncos penalties and that excuse fell out the window!

Chiefs: 10 penalties for 69 yards

Broncos: 10 penalties for 147 yards

Yes, the refs really stayed involved the entire game. Rarely did the miss an opportunity to shine. It was their moment!

Ugg just a brutal game to watch. Denver’s defense is legit.

Nov 17, 2025 02:31 PM #376

@dylans Respectfully, everyone's defense looks pretty good aganst this Chief's offense.

Nov 17, 2025 05:34 PM #377

@nuleafjhawk the chiefs put up more passing yards than the broncos average giving up. Just no idea why they out right refuse to run the ball in any capacity.

Nov 17, 2025 05:35 PM #378

I see one of two things happening here, the team folds and only wins a few more games this season. Or the team goes on a run starting next week and Mahomes wins MVP again and the chiefs make the playoffs.

Nov 17, 2025 06:14 PM #379

@kjayhawks Unfortunately, my money is on option #1

Nov 17, 2025 09:24 PM #380

I think the Chiefs finish 10-7 and barely miss the playoffs

Nov 17, 2025 11:28 PM #381

IMHO, Pacheco's absence is significant. It limits the running game which in turn affects the passing game.

Nov 18, 2025 02:44 AM #382

@bskeet definitely didn’t help any because they was scared to run anyone but Hunt. I still think they were stupid for not giving a 3rd round pick for Hall. They need a guy with big play capability. Hunt and Pop have combined for 1 rush for more than 20 yards this season. Sorry but that is pathetic, it’s also pathetic Chris Jones is the highest paid defensive lineman in the NFL and grades out in the mid 60s. Trade him for a couple of younger guy with the Hall trade and this team hasn’t lost since.

Nov 18, 2025 03:55 AM #383

@kjayhawks KC has 5 picks in the draft, plus a probable compensatory pick. Giving up a 3rd round pick for a half season of a guy whose career stats are actually quite similar to Pacheco seems like a no brainer: No. The 3rd rounder will be on a rookie contract whereas keeping Hall past this year would require another weighty contract. You are already unhappy with the Chiefs' cap situation--I'm surprised you want them to take on a rental and lose the advantages of getting a top 80-90 draftee cheaply.

Nov 18, 2025 05:27 AM #384

@mayjay Hall is a big upgrade imo from Pop, he averages almost a yard more per carry and actually has some long runs. I think the chiefs are better up front than the jets by a fair margin. In terms of the draft, it depends on whom they draft. Sky Moore was a laughable pick as was CEH and Felix. We wasted two first round picks on guys that everyone with brain were low on.

Nov 18, 2025 04:11 PM #385

I agree Hall would have been nice and we probably should have made the trade. However, I don't think it would have been hugely impactful. It would have made our offense a little better but would have done nothing to address the real issue: our defense. Because we refused to address the D-line at all, every above-average offense we face will continue to move the ball on us at will.

Nov 21, 2025 04:40 AM #386

@Jhawk69 you look at the salaries of D-lineman we could have 2 really good ones for the price we paid Chris Jones. Watching the bills struggle tonight and lose to the Texans. It was all on the defensive front, Josh was sacked 8 times and ran for his life the whole game. The only difference in Mahomes and Allen in that situation is that people like @nuleafjhawk wont be screaming Josh is washed after a bad game. The chiefs just can’t get pressure with 4 and they struggle getting even sending extra rushers. The secondary is decent but it’s the NFL, you can give a decent QB and WRs 4-6 seconds every play to make a throw. I’m disappointed they made zero moves because anyone that knows football knows the issue is D-line and either RBs or just flat out not attempting to run the ball at all. I bet teams laugh at the play action against KC.

Nov 21, 2025 05:10 AM #387

@kjayhawks I'm getting a tattoo tomorrow...

Josh is washed

Nov 23, 2025 07:03 PM #388

I think they need to completely scrap the red zone offensive pay book

Nov 23, 2025 09:38 PM #389

Congrats! Beat a good team, great come back.

Nov 23, 2025 10:12 PM #390

Definitely a type of win that can turn the tide on this season. They actually tried to run the ball and that helped a lot. Gotta work on turning possessions into TDs instead of FGs and catching the ball would be nice. Pat would’ve had over 400 and two touchdowns if we could just catch. The game doesn’t even need OT. The result is what we needed but still can’t afford a loss at this point. Good news is the schedule is much lighter the last 6 games outside of Denver at home.

Schedule "lighter" but several difficult games - Dallas next week, Texans (their defense is very good), Broncos and Chargers. And no margin for error. Jacksonville just beat Arizona in OT to basically stay 2 games up on the Chiefs for one of the wild card slots. Probably need to go 5-1 down the stretch and that is a tall order...

Nov 24, 2025 01:27 AM #392

Quick turn around. Hunt took a beating! Pat did too!

Nov 24, 2025 01:51 AM #393

How about 8-3 Chicago! With Philly losing we’re now tied for the 2 seed 😎

Nov 24, 2025 03:12 AM #394

@DCHawker never an easy game in the NFL, they are all must wins at this point

With a negative point differential and beating one team with a winning record at the time. That is wild to me. However I would love to see the Bears win the division just to see all the KSU/Packer combo fans suffer.

Nov 25, 2025 04:13 AM #396

@BShark yeah that whole demolition against Detroit sticks out lol

Nov 28, 2025 12:32 AM #397

Btw - the Chiefs suck butt. Just sayin.

Nov 28, 2025 12:43 AM #398

@nuleafjhawk They are really good at getting attention from the refs!

Nov 28, 2025 12:50 AM #399

I really hate to blame the refs - BUT OMG. It was awful. Even when the a-hole took off his helmet at the end and no penalty. How? Why? There were some real crap calls in that game. I guess Jones does have more money than Hunt.

Nov 28, 2025 01:00 AM #400

Danged Chiefs.

One step farther away from the playoffs. rats.

Nov 28, 2025 01:13 AM #401

I thought the offense played pretty decent but my god the defense was terrible and the officiating matched it. Watching a game like that is why I never get to worked up, that was a predetermined out come. It’s one thing to miss a call but multiple ghost holding calls, ghost OPI and the last two DPIs were flat out wrong. That being said they would’ve had a chance if the third down defense did anything. Y’all have heard me say for the last several years pro sports are rigged and with all the crap coming out about the NBA folks involved. I wouldn’t be shocked a bit if the NFL is any different.

Nov 28, 2025 01:19 AM #402

The front office has just made wrong moves the last few years. Defensive line full of others teams rejects and we paid the wrong dudes. If Mahomes played in a Dome with CeeDee and Pickens, he may average 500 yards a game.

Nov 28, 2025 01:25 AM #403

?s=46

Nov 28, 2025 01:54 AM #404

One more loss and we are out

Nov 28, 2025 03:33 AM #405

Uh oh. Sounds like more and more injury trouble to the O line.

Trey Smith was already out today. Now Josh Simmons has a broken wrist. and what's his name (Taylor) is hurt.

The ship's sinking!

Nov 28, 2025 04:51 AM #406

Did anyone watch the Bengals ravens game? You could’ve called Dallas for at least 15 OPIs if this what it is ?s=46
At this point does the NFL know wtf pass interference is?

Nov 28, 2025 05:10 AM #407

The inconsistency in officiating was on full display and never more evident than if you watched the Chiefs/ Cowboys and the Bengals/Ravens back to back.

It was like the same game being adjudicated with two different rulebooks. The league needs to figure out what the hell is going on with offensive and defensive PI and holding…. Seriously, I think the crew of the Chiefs game should be investigated/reprimanded by the league.

Nov 28, 2025 01:22 PM #408

peepeepoopoo tbh

Nov 28, 2025 03:02 PM #409

I think the league knows they can get away with screwing over the chiefs because of the false narrative that they get all thr calls. That is why their games are officiated "differently"

Exactly what America thought after their turkey yesterday, lots of questioning if it isn’t all rigged like WWE after yesterday’s games.
