Wow, I'm still stung by that meltdown last year. How did we lose that game? One of about 3 or 4 gut punches last year that turned our season from promising into a disaster fraught with what ifs and what could've beens.

This year we've had one what could've been already. Maybe a decision to punt is the what could've been that separates our season from good to great.

Tomorrow, I hope we keep the foot on the accelerator and bury them so there's no doubt on the outcome. I'm fairly confident victory is possible. Will call it 35-31 Jayhawks.

Two touchdown favorites tomorrow. First time in 15 years we have been that against a B12 team

Last year I was 100% sure we would lose. Even when we were up 11 with 5 minutes left I had no doubt we would give up a quick touchdown, go three and out, and then give up another score. This year I would give us about a 45% chance of winning, a significant jump from the 0 we had last year. We are favorites and definitely could blow WVU out, but I think we will shoot outselves in the foot with drops, fumbles, and miscommunications on defense enough to allow WVU to stay in the game. Then in the 4th quarter I think WVU shows more testicular fortitude (some) than us (none) and takes a surprise win.

Converseley, if we are winning by double digits in the 4th quarter I think we can drain the clock just well enough to escape.

Yes @wissox let’s hope we can exercise the Demons tomorrow. Things to consider, Missouri is likely a top 10 team before the season ends and they are better in the trenches than prob everyone in the b12 except maybe Utah. Defensively I don’t feel like we were bad in terms of scheme we just were terrible at making plays on the ball whether it was a missed tip or a miss tackle. I’d love to see the offense get the run game going against WVU to help keep the heat off of JD. JD has to realize it is okay to throw the ball away. The fumble play that lead to a safety just looked like a busted play. Throw it at the RBs feet and live to play another down. Stop trying to do too much, it was catastrophic last season.

@kjayhawks to be fair to JD the only offense that was working vs mizzou was jd making something out of nothing.

Need a team win today. Let’s hope the new stadium holds its own “phog” magic. Looking for every natural and supernatural advantage we can get.

Well we played the Demons two weeks ago as they got a lot of exercise running up and down the field against our porous defense. Lets hope today we exorcise our demons!

That did not cost KU any yards. Even if it did, defending your QB is worth it from a dirty hit. I'd be pissed off as a coach if my QB took a dirty hit and nobody defended him.

Wow. I enjoyed that game! JD wasn't perfect, but he's fun to watch when the coaches let him run.

Nice to put the belt to the ass of a conference opponent. Radio said this is only the 3rd 30 plus point win in conference since 2010. All 3 under LLs leadership. Its nice to dominate and sit down at the end to realize we could’ve played a lot better. We have a special teams unit!!! We have ranked 106th or worse in special teams according to Phil Steele’s system 8 of the last 10 years with 89th being our best. We have a good PK, Punter and two good return men. Nice job by the defense stepping up after missing dozens of tackles in Columbia. My biggest concerns continue to be JDs accuracy and the offensive lines play. If this program wants to take the next step and compete for a conference championship, JD can not miss some the throws he did today as simple as that. The biggest game of the year is always the next game up. Cincinnati to me looks much better than I thought they would be and they will be ready watching us win tonight while they are on a bye week.

Does anyone know the line for the Cincinnati game?

@BShark yes been some good entertainment on there with him. I worry our fans are too cocky with KSU on there. I won’t believe we can actually win against them til the clock is blank and we have more points. Fresno State who he crapped all over went over to Hawaii and won to improve to 4-1. Fresno is a solid program that makes a bowl a high percentage of the time. I’m not saying we beat LSU to open the season but that is turning into a solid win on paper.

This was a good win and the best part was that it was not Jalen’s best game and still a dominant performance. We also bucked the trend of the final-two-minutes-scourge.
