Kansas State hate
Oct 20, 2025 05:37 PM #1

Friends I am so sick and tired of losing to the mildcats in football and splitting with them in basketball. 17 times in a row is at stake Saturday. We literally have highschool seniors that have never seen Kansas win and it’s quickly becoming one of the most embarrassing streaks in CFB. If this program wants to move forward, a win has to happen. Next season we will lose pretty much every single player on offense and the few good players we have on defense. If it doesn’t end now it could easily go on for another 5 years. I feel like my sanity is on the line Saturday.

Oct 20, 2025 06:34 PM #2

Don't get your hopes up. I am just hoping to sweep them in basketball.

Oct 20, 2025 09:17 PM #3

@kjayhawks I'm an old fart. I remember when it didn't matter how bad we sucked, we could always count on beating K-State.

Our season is .....ok so far, K-State has been fairly awful. But I guarantee they beat us Saturday. My guess 36 - 21.

Oct 20, 2025 09:45 PM #4

@Jhawk69 Ahhh the , eternal optimist OUR chances are really good , I love our chances -don't lose to much sleep sweating about it

Oct 20, 2025 11:27 PM #5

@SlimShaddy54 I'm glad you're sleeping well, but the fact is we haven't beaten them in 17 years. There's no real reason to believe we'll beat them this year. But we can hope.

Oct 20, 2025 11:58 PM #6

We r due! 💙❤️🌾🌾

Oct 21, 2025 12:22 AM #7

@SlimShaddy54 I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist. I am a realist (Twain is my favorite author). As a realist, my takes on KU basketball tend to come across as optimistic while my takes on KU football tend to come across as pessimistic.

Oct 21, 2025 12:55 AM #8

@nuleafjhawk I'm sleeping great thanks.--- I don't live in the past. Were not playing any of those teams we have played in the last 16 years These guys can't live in fear and I know they are not. If we wanna live in the past might as well say we won or should of won for the last two years.

If we wanna live in the psst and shimmer & tremble hell we might as well not even play just tell them to have K/State name the score and we will call it good.

Therre is NOT ONE SINGLE PLAYER that would intimidate me or does scare me on that team. Jalen is just s good if not better them Johnson , he is the most over rated kid I'v seen in quite some time. What has he done that is that much better , head and shoulders then anyone else.-- Edwards is limited in play still not full speed by any means --They have played long stretch's of crappy ball
.
I think I will take my chances and let the game play out , , thank GOD we do have SOME that live in the present and not the past

Oct 21, 2025 12:56 AM #9

@Jhawk69 I'm sorry it's gonna be OK really it is , just remember it's only a game and continue to breathe

Oct 21, 2025 02:29 AM #10

@SlimShaddy54 Life outside the game will be okay. As for the game itself, I will not believe we can beat K-State until I see it with my own eyes.

Oct 21, 2025 02:44 AM #11

@Jhawk69 Good luck , you don't have long to wait. Gives you plenty of time to get the eye appointment scheduled

Oct 21, 2025 12:10 PM #12

LL needs this win to change the new cycle, change the narrative, and finally change the way in-state recruits look at these two programs. A lot on the line Saturday imo

Oct 21, 2025 01:28 PM #13

@Kcmatt7 this is without a doubt the biggest game in LL career thus far as well as JDs

Oct 21, 2025 05:16 PM #14

Lance has been close two years in a row. His old bugaboo of not knowing how to close out a win seemingly has bit us in those games more than others.

Oct 21, 2025 06:28 PM #15

@kjayhawks I disagree. A game against an unranked secondary rival is not the biggest game of Lance's career. All of the games we have played against top-10 opponents were bigger. Our game against Okie State a few years ago that got us bowl eligibility for the first time in forever was MUCH bigger. Both of the bowl games we have played in have been bigger. Our game against Baylor at the end of last year, which was a fight for bowl eligibility, was bigger. Our game against misery, who is a much bigger rival than K-State, was bigger.

Oct 21, 2025 07:10 PM #16

Sounds like KSU is trying to give us bulletin board material. One there linebackers stated they should go out and dominate us.

I agree to some extent it may not be the biggest game in LL's tenure. But I do fear the ramifications of a loss may be this team quitting on LL and staff. And then that snowballing into something even worse this offseason.

A win basically guarantees a bowl appearance and accomplishes SOMETHING this season by ending that damn streak.

Oct 21, 2025 08:09 PM #18

It is a big game. The chance to snap a long losing streak, gain momentum for in-state recruiting, and increase our chances of bowl eligibility are all factors. But it is far from the biggest game or Lance's tenure.

Oct 21, 2025 08:58 PM #19

@Jhawk69 I personally think our game against Texas @ Texas when w went in and beat them, the game Jarrod Casey's name became known. That was a huge game and really think was the start of our turn around. -- The game in Booth when we beat Oklahoma was a pretty huge game and very sweet. Two games that i think was very beneficial for our program and actually meant more to the program then K/State.

Now this weekend this will be a big game but for different reasons , time to put an end to the streak. Yet as far as being the biggest game of LL time at KU I just think the Texas game at Texas was much bigger.
The game Saturday will no doubt be big in ways- -- -breaking the streak and even more turning the tide even more with in State recruiting. we just kicked their ass for 2026 with in state recruits - -but typical response from their idiot fan bas of- - -well we wern't recruiting that kid or he isn't all that good, but yet before they committed to KU these kids were lights out. First one that really stunned the taters was JJ Dunnigan kicked them right square in the nads - -gotta love it.

Oct 22, 2025 02:23 AM #20

Locked on Jayhawks podcast today said it is the biggest in his tenure at KU. He's winless in rivalry games with KSU and misery. That's a major legacy mark against him. A win will also set us up for another bowl berth with a winnable game (or 2?) on the horizon. The podcast didn't downplay big games he's won, like the OU game, the bowl game, etc, but the chance to end the long streak would be huge and impact future recruiting as well.

Oct 22, 2025 01:32 PM #21

@Jhawk69 to me if we don’t win, we likely don’t go bowling meaning LL has maxed out at making a bowl every couple of years and we can’t beat our rival at their worst. I wouldn’t say we should fire LL with a loss but it’s hard to imagine us ever being more than 4-7 win team most years. Would mean LL can’t take the next step here and wouldn’t be good. He has done great at building up the program from a doormat to a team that competes week in and week out. But you have to win some of those game especially with a 6 year QB. Like i mentioned above if we lose Saturday the streak easily hits 20 IMO.

Oct 22, 2025 02:08 PM #22

One game doesn't prove Lance has maxed out

Oct 22, 2025 02:49 PM #23

@wissox that’s why it’s such a big deal, especially after losing to Mizzou. We can’t afford to lose another rivalry game if we want to win recruiting battles on home turf. Kids would already rather go to the SEC. Lose this game and it sets us back to the pre LL days IMO.

Oct 22, 2025 07:24 PM #24

@kjayhawks Sets us back to terrible from barely mediocre. Lol. I'm convinced Andy Reid in his prime (now?) couldn't coach KU to a winning record.

Oct 22, 2025 08:52 PM #25

@kjayhawks You said his ceiling is 7 wins. Season before last he won 8. What changed? Not sure how you can say ceiling is 7 when we just won 8.

Oct 22, 2025 10:55 PM #26

@wissox I would consider the season we won 9 with bowl the exception not the rule at this point.

Oct 22, 2025 11:01 PM #27

It is too early to say what the exception and what the rule is. I think next season will be more telling, as this season is a rebuilding year after that senior class we lost.

Oct 23, 2025 02:58 AM #28

..

Oct 23, 2025 03:35 AM #29

@Jhawk69 I disagree next season will be a rebuilding season that’s why making a bowl this season is huge. We have a 6th year senior QB and tons of experience on offense. Pretty much the entire 2 deep is seniors on the offensive side. If this a rebuilding year we are in deep deep trouble next season like Beaty trouble of do we win more than 1 game.

Oct 23, 2025 03:44 AM #30

There are no complete rebuilds anymore. We graduated like 35 players last year and got better. With the portal you just reload. Two good examples are the WR corps and DE. We lost almost every single reception from last year and landed guys like Pickett and Henderson who are fantastic. We lost Jereme Robinson and DeShawn Warner at DE, replaced them with Finkley and Leroy Harris, and got better. It’s a different world.

https://kuathletics.com/news/2024/10/26/football-no-16-kansas-state-edges-kansas-29-27 ↗

Looking at our last two close games against K-State that we should have won, our biggest issue is that we refuse to score against them in the 4th quarter. I am looking for baby steps in this matchup. Even if we lose, keeping it competitive and scoring at some point in the 4th quarter would be a step in the right direction.

Oct 23, 2025 07:20 PM #32

@Jhawk69 last season was so frustrating, 2 years ago we had a true freshman 3 string QB and still almost won. If JD or Bean were healthy the streak stops there. Last season so many bone headed plays from Skinners dropped TD pass, the kick off man stepping out at the 1 yard line and JDs back to back fumbles the last two times we touched the pigskin. Hoping the nightmare of giving away games is gone but idk after the Cincinnati debacle.

Oct 23, 2025 07:30 PM #33

Unfortunately, those bone headed plays were not flukes. Those were symptoms of our teams lack of the toughness necessary to win close games or rivalry games. We will not end the streak this year, but we might someday. That is why I am hoping for a step in the right direction. Cut those 4 or 5 boneheaded plays to one or two. Maybe hit a field goal int he 4th quarter.

Oct 24, 2025 01:02 AM #34

@Jhawk69 yes last year that was who we were for much I’d the season unfortunately. The jury is still out on this years group

Oct 25, 2025 02:04 AM #37

Speaking of hate, K-State and misery are playing in an exhibition basketball game right now.

Oct 25, 2025 02:57 AM #38

@approxinfinity not going well after the hot start

Oct 25, 2025 03:11 AM #39

K-State looked like the better team, which surprised me. They were digging everything

Oct 25, 2025 04:33 AM #40

Disappointing start with a loss for the volleyball team

Oct 25, 2025 01:04 PM #41

Back to Football: Comparing QBs, who would have guessed that Johnson has more rushing yds than Daniels-238 to 199. Passing: JD has 18 TDs/2 INTs; Johnson 13 TDs/2 INTs. JD completes 70% of passes for 1,752 yds; Johnson 63% for 1,561 yds. RBs: Leshon 55 carries-309 yds, 5 TDs; Jackson 75 carries-313 yds, 1 TD. Pretty dang even. My hope is that home field advantage will provide a big difference. But, rain is moving in so we will see if KU fans arrive and stay in the stands. KU must win this game. RC

Oct 25, 2025 04:22 PM #68

@rockchalkjayhawk yes

Oct 25, 2025 04:32 PM #79

@rockchalkjayhawk We're never supposed to win a football game which makes it far less painful when we do.

Oct 25, 2025 04:34 PM #80

@rockchalkjayhawk Depends on what you look at.

Record: KU is 4-3; KSU is 3-4.

Recent $$ spent on program: KU > KSU

History: K-State has won 16 years in a row.

Could be worse, we could be David Booth and donate $300m to lose at home in blowout fashion to 3-4 team

Oct 25, 2025 04:37 PM #85

I thought before the game that one significant defensive stop or turnover or moment would likely be the difference today. We’ve already had like three in four minutes!!!

Oct 25, 2025 04:52 PM #111

It's a long game. Plenty of opportunities left to right the ship. But we can't let the lead grow and the staff better get a revised plan for the second half. Otherwise this is just the 17th chapter.

Before we beat K-State, we need to force K-State to beat us. Unfortunately, I don't know if we will ever do that. They go into this game every year knowing they will get to watch us blow coverages, muff returns, muff punts, drop receptions, fumble the ball, and throw picks, allowing them to cruise to an easy win without having to actually make any plays.

Oct 25, 2025 06:29 PM #157

Take him out ffs

Marshall Era if we don’t beat Okie Lite

Oct 25, 2025 06:38 PM #160

JD6 will always be a legend in KU football history. He has earned that with the upsets he pulled as a younger player. But I'm ready to move on (to Marshall, not Ballard).

Oct 25, 2025 06:39 PM #161

I'd like to imagine K-State fans of my generation saying "I remember when we sucked as bad as KU. I hope we never revert back to that "

The younger generation of K-State fans is saying " We're invincible. These pu$$ie$ will never beat us"

The younger ones are right.

Oct 25, 2025 06:40 PM #162

We could win 25 of the next 30 years and it would not make up for this streak. It's unconscionable at this point.

Oct 25, 2025 06:43 PM #163

I remember being excited about this game. It was the first two minutes of the game. That was it.

Oct 25, 2025 06:44 PM #164

Outscored 42-10 by a .500 team since that time.

Oct 25, 2025 06:45 PM #165

@bskeet I got my hopes up after scoring the TD at the end of 1st half just to have it dashed when 2nd half began.

Oct 25, 2025 06:52 PM #166

Oh well. Hope we can bounce back.

Oct 25, 2025 07:10 PM #167

And the streak of not scoring a single 4th quarter point against K-State continues

Oct 25, 2025 07:47 PM #168

We are now victims of the description of Einstein's definition of insanity. I'm so glad Daniels is done this year. I heard the kitties are already petitioning the NCAA asking to give him another year of eligibility.

Oct 25, 2025 08:11 PM #169

Wow where to start, That was the most pathetic sight I've seen and am afraid this performance has set the program back. I would love to hear from someone , anyone who could point out anything positive that we executed today that was good. We just got curb stomped. I would like to hear from people that saw this coming - --- the score/result of the game

I can say you can take it to the bank Lance will be catching heat , I've always been behind Lance but todays showing inexcusable.

Jalon just saves his worst for K/State..- --I'm so fed up listening to Hanni & Lawerence trying to make up excuses it gets really old ( well it's wet today , Jalen off throwing the ball ( hmmm didn't seem to bother Johnson throwing the ball )

Jalon plays horrible throwing-- -got to be his worst game of the Season throwing the ball. fumbles the ball what ? - -Three times and his int?- -some of his passes weren't even close

Another huge difference , Daniels spent most of the game running for his life-- -constant pressure. Where the hell is our protection from our O-Line. Daniels under pressure all day- -Absolutely no pressure on Johnson at all. For 80/85 % of the day he had time to make his lunch- -AND still time to eat it- -our D-Line - --Our O-Line sucks

Our Secondary sucks receivers wide open time and time again , there is going to be some heat on Lance- - - needs to be heat on O-Line Coach-- needs to be lots of heat on DK McDonald

You watch they gonna start losing that fan support again , half full stadium if they fix this ans fix this now.- -Just an ugly display

Oct 25, 2025 08:32 PM #170

What a disgusting performance, this maybe the first time in the Leipold era I’m ashamed of our program and lack of progress. Maybe the first team we’ve had get worse as the year goes on. If we don’t get to a bowl, his seat should be hot.

Oct 25, 2025 10:36 PM #171

@SlimShaddy54 We need to scrap football and concentrate on basketball. Not kidding.

He gets one more season with his shiny toys to recruit to. If he misses a bowl next season though you have to move on. He’s done a ton for the program and whoever the next coach is after him needs to send a massive thank you. But the reality is the standard for a P5 team like KU should be to make a bowl game 2 of every 3 seasons to keep your job from here on out.

Oct 25, 2025 11:17 PM #173

Truly a disappointing day. Are there 2 more wins on the remaining schedule?

Oct 25, 2025 11:51 PM #174

@nuleafjhawk I'm beginning to think so. Why can't we have a decent foot ball program. I'm sure Lance is catching some heat. Is it deserved ? - Probably some of it is anyways but not totally, today was just so discouraging I think we actually took a step backwards today.

A showing like we had today I'm sure is a recipe for flip from commits. No one wants to play for schools that play like piles of warm dog doo, I mean it wasn't just one certain area today it was a team lost effort. If you saw you could tell the game was over in the third quarter walking around with slumped should , sad faces , I mean come on take a little pride dam.

Oct 25, 2025 11:57 PM #175

@Kcmatt7 like I said earlier this week that one 9’win season is his peak at this point

Oct 26, 2025 01:01 AM #176

Marshall needs to be QB from here on out. Yeah, I know, he's unproven. Daniel's IS proven. And he's proven he's not a very good QB.

Why does Marshall need to be QB? He hasn't even been able to move past Ballard on the depth chart and yet he's going to be the savior of the season?

Leipold's buyout is currently about $28 million and would be about $23 million after next season. Considering the donor checkbooks are slowing right now and the national economy is headed towards a recession, Leipold isn't getting fired after this season and he's not likely getting fired after next season either unless you know where KU is going to find an extra $60 million or so for Leipold and staffs buyouts and hiring a new staff. Throw that on top of potentially having to replace Bill Self in the next couple of years as well and I think Goff is going to be more concerned with making sure he has the budget for for basketball than football at the moment.

Legend?? You can’t be a legend in KU football never winning against a rival or in bowl game. Sorry you just can’t be Tony Sands is a legend because what he did here against Mizzou. Todd Ressing beating Mizzou in the snow and winning the orange bowl are a few examples. JD6s legacy has turned into putting up numbers early in the season against inferior opponents. Turning the ball over in big games repeatedly. He’s basically KUs Tony Romo at this point, all hype but can’t do jack when it matters. Jason Bean has a better legacy IMO by a lot.

There's a reason Marshall has been the 3rd string QB all year.

Oct 26, 2025 02:45 AM #182

Buyout? We're talking buyout? Come on now, that's foolish talk.

Oct 26, 2025 02:59 AM #183

@wissox I think he should be fired if we don’t make a bowl. It’s obvious he has peaked here at this point. We always overreact and give coaches too big of a buyout/contract. Wisconsin or Florida he is all yours guys.

Oct 26, 2025 03:27 AM #184

@Texas-Hawk-10 there's a reason Daniels has been the starter. That's not working out great for us either.

Where does the $28 million it'll cost to fire Leipold after this season come from? I doubt Florida is looking to spend that kind of money on top of the $21 million they're paying Napier for Leipold. Florida is going to make a run at Lane Kiffin and then Missouri's coach.

Wisconsin isn't firing Fickel either since that'll cost them $25 million for Fickel's buyout and Wisconsin has always been a school hesitant to open their checkbooks.

Oct 26, 2025 12:34 PM #186

Ugh, TikTok is rage baiting me with KState plays taunting KU's ineptness. Insult to injury. Very painful.

Oct 26, 2025 02:02 PM #187

@stoptheflop I guess KU officials met with Klieman pre game and told him be prepared for a field storming. This really pissed off KSU. Was a pretty stupid move

Oct 26, 2025 05:27 PM #188

We keep on embarrassing ourselves! Ksu did the ole f ku chant.

At least we didn't lose another close one!

Oct 27, 2025 03:25 AM #193

@nuleafjhawk hard to know which is worse, getting hammered and knowing you stink or like the last few years lead in the 4th quarter to give you false hope.

Oct 27, 2025 03:30 AM #194

Speaking of buyouts Brian Kelly will get $54 million to not coach LSU. Man if I was in College coaching my goal would be to have 1 good season and get a huge buyout, set for life afterwards. Not sure why anyone at LSU thought that would work. If you can’t win championships at ND against a cake walk ACC schedule and all of their resources, how the hell are you going to in the SEC? Was as stupid as us hiring Weis.
