Must be regular season games only. I can think of a few March/April matchups that were just as good. I would put the KU/Florida game one of our best games, certainly over the USC game.

I totally agree with #1 and #2 -- especially if we're talking regular season. However, if we are just talking over the past 12 years, I think you have to include some pretty great NCAA games in the mix including one particular overtime game in April 2008.

If the KU vs OU game had been any combination of Kentucky, Duke or UNC instead of KU and OU, the East Coast media would have just put an end to college basketball. They would have stamped that moment in time as the best it could ever be and there would be no more basketball.

So thank you Kentucky, Duke and UNC that you don't have what we have.

I still can't get over that they ignore our game with Florida. They were the defending national champs and would win again. They had to be top ranked or near it. We were a very good elite 8 team that if memory serves got Darren Collisoned out of that round. I believe we were top 5 at worst. It was an epic two point game in Vegas. It was one of Bill Self's best wins at KU.

In addition to the ga,es mentioned, the KU-UK game at AFH should be there. How about the KU trashing of UNC and then then beating Ohio State in the 2012 Final Four? Texas In the Big 12 Tournament?

@jayballer54 Some of the good ones that come to mind for me in the regular season are the win in Vegas vs Florida in December 06. KU vs. Baylor at Allen in 08 where sherron came to life. Although it was a loss Texas A&M at Allen in 07 was a great game. KU vs. Duke in the Maui title game in early 11 which we were raped in lol. KU vs OU in 06 where the youngsters lead us back from down double digits was great, I call this +the forgotten one most don't remember it . But man we have had some great games no doubt.

@kjayhawks Fun to watch and remember. Chalmers was great down the stretch in that game. He remains one of my favorite Jayhawks.

Keegan looked back at that game with Florida and discovered 12 future NBA players in it. Amazing!

I think KU - Texas in the 2008 Big XII tourney was one the best where both teams played at a very high level.

Best 3 (or 4) games against Texas.

January 2003 at AFH. Collison goes into beast mode with 24 point and 23 rebound before fouling out and drawing a standing ovation from Dick Vitale who said the only other time he did it was for one David "The Admiral" Robinson. KU wins 90-87; both teams make it to the Final Four.

March 2007 at AFH. Durant goes crazy and Texas build a 16 point lead with 3 minutes left in the first half. KU makes a come back for the ages and build a 10 point lead with 5 minutes in the game. The final result is closer at 90-86. One week later at the Ford Center Durant goes off again scoring 37 point and 10 rebounds and Texas takes a 19 point lead. KU comes back again and wins 88-84; not nearly the thriller one week earlier.

2007 Big 12 Tournament #1 KU beats #3 seed Texas with Durant 88-84, Durant is the Tournament MVP; Rush and Wright are in the All-Tournament team. KU sweep Texas and Durant who goes to the NBA never having beaten KU.

Funny you should mention that. I get my fair share of east coast media, including a bit behind the scenes. Many of those people did not like all the proclamations made during and after that game that is was the "game of the year, maybe of the decade or longer."

A lot of the fight back came from Duke fans, and they have (obviously) big ties to east coast media.

I apologize for shouting this... but I want everyone here to pay attention to my next statement:

DUKE FANS SEE KANSAS AS ONE OF THEIR NEW, UPCOMING RIVALS.

This is important. WE NEED TO LOOK AT THEM IN THE SAME LIGHT. I think we focus a lot on Kentucky, probably because many of us have a disdain for Calipari, who also has Kansas ties.

I heavily suggest we focus more on Duke and less on Kentucky,

DUKE IMPACTS KANSAS BASKETBALL. Just ask the Booth family who ran up the price of Naismith's basketball rules. Let's get real, Duke had NO BUSINESS challenging us for those rules. But there are many other areas where Duke and Kansas compete, including for recruits and prestige. And, of course, on the court.

If we don't bring back situations like KU vs MU... we need to develop a new rivalry. I suggest it be with Duke.
