OKIE ST TAKING DOWN WVU
Feb 05, 2017 12:01 AM #1

not a good day for b12 leaders today.

Feb 05, 2017 12:03 AM #2

Sad thing is we'd be in great shape if our boys played hard for 40 minutes.

Feb 05, 2017 12:09 AM #3

@kjayhawks We gave it away. Oh well, we live to fight another day.

Feb 05, 2017 12:10 AM #4

Sorry, didn't see your topic.

Feb 05, 2017 12:10 AM #5

Ya that would have been huge for the big12 race.

Feb 05, 2017 12:19 AM #6

Ku was lucky to keep the standings with WVU and Baylor where they were before the day began. With the last three games and the rain of bad headlines this week, this was bound to happen. Just like in the NCAA, some team will have a school record in three's like today.

Feb 05, 2017 12:21 AM #7

@wrwlumpy It's just further proof of how difficult winning the Big XII is.

Feb 05, 2017 12:21 AM #8

@KUSTEVE ya if make the FF we won't care too much lol. Still as maddening as a loss we have had in years.

Feb 05, 2017 12:22 AM #9

3 homes losses for the top 3 teams. Wow, just incredible.

Feb 05, 2017 12:24 AM #10

@kjayhawks well of course. I once heard someone say: March can right all wrongs. Thst is absolutely true. I dont care that we lost to Davidson in 2012. Why? Because we made it to the title game. A deep run to the final weekend causes one to forget about past failures. We are Kansas and shouldnt be satisfied with a great regular season.

Feb 05, 2017 12:25 AM #11

@KUSTEVE We lost, but it still doesn't remove the bad taste that EJ left in all of their mouths!

Feb 05, 2017 12:38 AM #12

@KUSTEVE Now we can await elpoyo the troll to post a thread on how flippin weak the Big 12 conf is....yada yada

Feb 05, 2017 12:50 AM #13

@globaljaybird I love your tag line.

Feb 05, 2017 01:06 AM #14

@globaljaybird I'll tell you in 8 weeks how good the big 12 is. Very fun to watch league no days off, evenly matched teams.

Feb 05, 2017 01:28 AM #15

@KansasComet or ben Mac!😉

Feb 05, 2017 02:01 AM #16

Well...this was the Pre Valentine day massacre. The top 3 teams in the League lose...at effin' home, how rare is that? and how much parity is there in the Big 12 where you just cannot take a day off.

Greenberg had a video snippet on ESPN on the top conference and he called the Big 12 the best; he indicated it will have 7 teams and maybe even 8 in the Tournament.,,now if only some Big 12 fans had as much respect for the conference as Greenberg has. :smiley:

Feb 05, 2017 02:03 AM #17

@JayHawkFanToo it's a solid league I think. Hopefully we have a few teams go deep especially us to prove that theory.

Feb 05, 2017 02:05 AM #18

@kjayhawks

Greenberg also mentioned that the conference has 3 team with legitimate Final Four talent.

Feb 05, 2017 02:39 AM #19

@Crimsonorblue22 Oh so true! Off the glass!

Feb 05, 2017 03:15 AM #20

@Crimsonorblue22 I started Ben Mac tonight in one of my draft kings lineups. i have been banking with Markieff for weeks now.

Feb 05, 2017 03:32 AM #21

@KUSTEVE I love that guy!

Feb 05, 2017 04:03 AM #22

March can "right" all wrongs, but for 67 out of 68 teams, it stays wrong, or at least bittersweet: 3 missed dunks vs KY in 2012...nothing but missed FTs vs Syracuse in '03.

Question: Is THIS KU team's defense Final4 good?

(Self101: If you cant stop the other guy...)

Villanova avg ppg last year was 80+, KU held them down -20 from that, but still lost. Played D, but couldnt hit a 3.

We allow IowaState, an unranked team, to score 90pts in AFH? And we commit 20turnovers to their 13?

Feb 05, 2017 04:58 AM #23

@ralster good points. You can definitely lose when you play great defense if you couple that with poor shooting, like Nova last year. Really, you can't have one without the other. I would say the first half today was a good balance between the two. This team can absolutely play championship level defense, but they seem to only do it when need be. Maybe they are trying to conserve energy? I really dont know.
