Several minutes ago Vick drove to the top of the key, got stuffed, they blew the whistle. No shooting foul but there was no contact against him until the shot. Our only 90% shooter denied the chance to shoot FT's.

We are shooting 2/13 for 8%. We probably should improve that

We still showed this team can throw a scoring streak together. After a terrible start we lead by 7, at least for a short time.

Whoa...I just noticed my wife is baking brownies. Things are looking up already.

Each of our starters has 1 bucket - 5-23 from the field. Not going to win many games shooting like that. Kinda lucky to just be down 9. Thank goodness for Vick showing up....

Hopefully the half time talk will light a fire under their buts and they will come out on fire. With a win and the Baylor loss they can almost wrap up the conference title.

As long as our players aren't laughing while getting their a beat, coughMonkcough, We will be fine in the 2nd half.

@DanR No, but all WVU has to do is maintain this skimpy lead and will let KU beat themselves. This seems to be a theme by allowing KU to self destruct. LL has 4 fouls, FOUR FOULS.
They better ramp it up because the lead just jumped up 2 more pts. KU let it go from a 4-7 pt lead to a 9 pt lead. It's not over, but the signs are pointing in the right direction.
How many fouls can WVU give? Seems everyone on the team has 4 fouls at this point. All they do is foul and hack. This is another strategy by putting KU on the line. IF they can outlast the fouls, they will make KU beat them on the line.

We're seeing the cumulative effects of tired legs for KU tonight. Bad shooting, lazy defense, and just an overall lack of energy for KU tonight. WVU has not played great defense tonight, KU has just missed a lot of good looks whicj to me is a big indicator of dead legs.

This is a tired team with dead legs right now. Self needs to play Lightfoot and Coleby more minutes in a traditional 3 out 2 in line up to get his guys some rest for March.

Good post... but remember we are still in conference play... and then we have March.

It's a great thing that we can come on down the stretch. That is an awesome quality.

But we are getting smoked on our home court. And we can't pull away from even the worse teams in our league.

We need to push our guys to play 40 minutes of basketball. Without that, it is very unlikely we can go far in March.

In March, sure... we will take any win we can get. And a game like this in March is colossal. But can we show a different pattern now? Can we just beat someone down for 40 minutes like most great teams do?

Josh and LaGerald kept us within range. Lucas was solid. Graham was absolutely clutch when it mattered. Mason was there on both ends of the court. Outstanding team victory!!

@drgnslayr fully agree that we should be beating teams by more but I'll take wins. The blow outs just are not coming this year. This is not a great KU team. Not an 07, 08, 11 level squad. It's more like a 2012 team and that team clawed their way to a Championship game. I see a lot of that team in this years squad.
